Danny Mitchell is the Run Game Coordinator and Running Backs Coach at UAB. Before joining the Blazers, he built an impressive international résumé, serving as Offensive Coordinator for the Vienna Vikings in the European League of Football, where he led them to a championship in their inaugural season in the league. A former quarterback at Willamette University, Mitchell has also coached in Sweden, Germany, and across the U.S., earning a reputation for his innovative offensive schemes and player development. In 2023, he was inducted in the European Pro Football Hall of Fame. This past year, he was selected as an NFL’s Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellowship with the Pittsburgh Steelers and previously was invited to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers National Coaching Academy.
