Dan Dulberger

 Dan is founder and director of the Center for NVR Therapy and Practice. A systemic therapist, a counselling therapist and a counsellor in NVR interventions, Dan is internationally acknowledged as an instructor and innovator in the Non-Violent Resistance therapy approach, as well as in NVR interventions with families of non-emerging adult children with entrenched dependence. His professional activities include clinical work with families in crises, consulting to mental health organizations, training, supervision, authoring, teaching and speaking, in Canada, in Europe and in Israel.  Dan holds an M.A. degree in Psychology from the Tel-Aviv University, is a graduate of SHINUI (the Israeli Institute for Systemic Studies, Family and Personal Change), and was personally trained by Haim Omer in the NVR approach. He is also accredited as a Practitioner and Supervisor by the UK Association of NVR Practice (UK)

Kerry Shoesmith

 With over 20 years of experience in youth and community work, Kerry has a distinguished background in both voluntary and statutory services. She began her career in residential childcare in 2000, eventually managing and supporting home managers as a Director. Under her leadership, one home received Outstanding ratings from Ofsted for six consecutive years—a distinction achieved by only 22 out of 3,309 homes at that time.

​Kerry holds an MSc in CBT and Mental Health. Her work has significantly influenced therapeutic care planning, fostering environments where young people can heal from past trauma.

As the UK's pioneering ReAttach trainer, Kerry continues to innovate in the field of therapeutic care, offering specialised services to organisations, families, children, and adults.

Mary-Jo Land

 Mary-Jo is a Registered Psychotherapist specializing in supporting and enhancing attachment in children, bonding in parents and resolution of early losses, trauma and neglect in children. In her work with parents, adoptive parents, foster parents and their children, she uses Dyadic Developmental Therapy, Child and Family Play Therapy and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy. Mary-Jo provides training and consultation in developmental trauma and refugee trauma. Currently, Mary-Jo is a member of the board of directors of Adopt4Life and is a member of the National Consortium on Aggression Towards Family and Caregivers in Childhood and Adolescence (AFCCA)When We Are Very Young, is a video podcast series on attachment, trauma and parenting. She wrote Caring Together, a guide for parents, foster parents and adoptive parents.

Peter Jakob

With a background in social work, Peter has worked as a clinical psychologist and family therapist in both child and adolescent mental health services and in adult mental health for over 35 years, specialising in working with people who have experienced abuse and with children and families involved with child protective services.

Peter’s concern is for understanding the contexts in which peoples’ difficulties emerge and working towards social justice as a key underpinning of psychotherapy.

He has introduced Non Violent Resistance (NVR) to the UK and has adapted the approach for families that face multiple challenges and for adopted children and young people in foster- or residential care.

Peter is a prolific national and international presenter. He is the author of Nonviolent Resistance in Trauma-Focused Practice: A Systemic Approach to Therapy and Social Care, Routledge, 2025.
