I am a data scientist currently living and working in the Faroe Islands, where I apply my NLP expertise for the development of Faroese language technology. I am most of all interested in the role that technology plays in preserving and revitalising low-resource languages. Language is identity, and identity is language: allowing a language to die out is losing a unique perspective on the human experience. I work as an Assistant Professor at the University of the Faroe Islands, and contribute to the development of the newly established Language Technology Centre (Máltøknidepilin).
