Ed Bellaire

Ed Bellaire is the visionary behind PerMissional, a journey of faith sparked in 2009 when he felt God’s call to explore the “more” in his life. This prompting led Ed and his wife, Lisa, to seek wisdom from trusted mentors and embrace a bold vision to live as missionaries in their neighborhood.

Despite challenges, they found encouragement from leaders like Steve Andrews of Kensington Community Church, where they had been deeply involved since 1990. After a pivotal church planter’s assessment, Ed and Lisa discerned their calling was not to plant a local church but to lead on a larger scale.

Their story is one of faith, resilience, and discovering their purpose: inspiring others to embrace their unique callings and live missionally, impacting lives on a national and global scale.

Spellmann Family

We are Andrew, Sierra, and Malachi Spellman. We are from Kansas City, MO but have lived in Columbia, MO for the past 3.5 years. Sierra was at the University of Missouri for undergrad, and Andrew joined her in Columbia when they married. We have been part of a network called KC Underground for a little over 4 years, which includes us joining other missionaries in KC and Columbia in bringing the good news of the kingdom of God to our contexts/neighborhoods. We are currently living this out with Jesus in our neighborhood in Columbia.

Steve Andrews

Steve was born in Memphis, Tennessee, the fifth child in a large, loving family. As a teenager, he spent a year in rural Kenya while his father served at a mission hospital. After graduating high school in the U.S., he attended Wheaton College, where he quarterbacked the football team and earned a degree in Christian Education.

His ministry began with youth, leading the Young Life Club at Glenbard West High School in Illinois and spending seven years in youth ministry at Ward Presbyterian Church in Michigan, where mentors like Dr. Gary Sattler and Dr. Bartlett Hess shaped him.

Steve met Paula Erickson at Ward, and they’ve been married for 35 years. In 1990, they co-founded Kensington Church in Detroit with close friends. Today, it has grown into a global ministry with multiple campuses, over 50 church plants, and nine global partners. Steve enjoys hunting, reading, bragging about his children, and snuggling with his grandkids.
