PPE has a role to play in preventing influenza A

Feedstuffs Episode 283

To prevent the spread of influenza in a commercial livestock system, it is highly recommended for staff to wear personal protective equipment or PPE. Considered the last line of defense to prevent an infection in an individual, it is also the least effective as wearing PPE well and consistently can be a challenge for producers and caregivers on farm.

Feedstuffs Ann Hess caught up with Montserrat Torremorell of the University of Minnesota at the American Association of Swine Veterinarian’s Annual Meeting to discuss a few studies that speak to the effectiveness of on-farm PPE in preventing flu infection and transmission.

Speaker 1:

To prevent the spread of influenza in a commercial livestock system, it's highly recommended that staff wear personal protective equipment, also known as PPE. But wearing PPE well and consistently can sometimes be a challenge for producers and caregivers on farm. Consistently can sometimes be a challenge for producers and caregivers on farm. Welcome to Feedstuffs in Focus, our podcast taking a look at the big issues affecting the livestock, poultry, grain and animal feed industries. I'm your host, sarah Muirhead. This episode of Feedstuffs in Focus is sponsored by United Animal Health, a leader in animal health and nutrition. Our Anne Hess caught up with Matsi Turmel, the University of Minnesota, at the American Association of Swine Veterinarians annual meeting and they discussed a few studies that speak to the effectiveness. And this virus is rich in the doses of the bacteria and the aerosols, so we have a lot of people that are exposed to that. So you can see that they're in the air, that is, inside the part that the people coming in can be the virus, but also actually some of the secretions that the case might have. You know the fact that they've been put behind a window. So that's something that most secretions in the government have, and most people in the airport and, of course, many, many times that we've touched the road, the tolls, the ice and the parking lot, there is a lot of really of a sharp, of a good idea of what they think very angry, or they're trying to have a good idea and they're getting hurt and they're getting more and more victims. It's very similar to what you're looking at with the one that you're using and it's the one that's really serious, right, the ones that were the kids, but the guys, it's really really similar. So we're going to have to run, but there are people here, but those are the people that we and everything. That's not necessarily a child, and so the key of that, I think, to the season report was to start by showing our best self-based maps of the data and to the specificity of the data. But this was a very slow and unsurpassed effort, and so it's interesting that the data was released by us, right? Because ultimately, the line of research should be more direct and that is whether we're going to be on a road. So the line up on the slide was that we took some tests on the parts that are not EJs, right, where you can see how long the electric is driving which are open to all sorts of open to the air or open to other workers, right. So there's a little bit of a shift of work, right, but there, for the time being, we made that one a little bit more intuitive, right, and in the particular parts of the market, to put two little hearts in the middle, I'm going to put two little hearts in the middle. I'm going to put two little hearts in the middle. I'm going to put two little hearts in the middle. I'm going to put two little hearts in the middle. I'm going to put two little hearts in the middle. I'm going to put two little hearts in the middle. I'm going to put two.

Speaker 1:

Particular year for the person. It's by choice. What happens the guy I'm holding behind is the more probable year as people go through the rest At the time for those kids, maybe they're in high school or they're probably in base year. If it's not healthy, then they're not cool, they're not going to be able to do anything otherwise, and then the end of the bus is unusual. So that's why actually our research process features that the more large-scale people bus, for instance, the bigger digital bus like St Pete, which is built better than the normal bus. So it would encourage that because it's more fun for people, and the problem with the normal bus is that the general bus is better than the normal bus, so that's a lot for people and the company. The people like this that show us this kind of a goal are so already in the department that they can consider a huge amount of work over the years and then run a way to shoot it. So those are the points that I can consider to decide on which direction to use.

Speaker 1:

And the short-term activities. I'm not sure if they also see that they're conducting the documentation, but there's certain activities that are appropriate. I also see that in preventive intimidation, that there's specific types of. Maybe producers should be engaging into more valuable services, and this will be another topic which is our research interest. I mean, I'm a contender for anything else. So what the population is expecting to be the ones that are the high level leaders so far, is it legal? It's higher quality, are they going to have the most creditors? Right is expected to be informed. So the high level data so far is that they have higher polluting than they have in the most measures right now. Two weeks, maybe two weeks. So then they're going to be in fact they will be in a period which is the expiration of the whole time of the vaccination and so we have a lot of stocks where the one more perspective was exposure and then we can think about where it is that we have pledges from and we can extract the errors very easy on how to make a good choice and again we can have those also take the principles to eventually tell them that they need to cover up.

Speaker 1:

So very basic, how basic your impact is, should be the questionnaires and then we can security practice should be in questionnaires. I think we can talk about the health in questionnaires. So I think that this question is very much a change in the community. We know that in the early pre-med school year the medical school did a good job, but also we know that most people go to medical school in younger kids because therefore the health there as the younger kids, because therefore the college employees and the younger kids show me the more value they have without over-deleting them. So I recommend university-wide clubs and at some of the district-wide clubs that work better in preventing transmission.

Speaker 1:

There's something interesting which we only did have to do all of the treatment. We were better at the treatment of transsexuals, you know, with the prenatal care and I think we actually did more of the treatment just with the mother and the baby. I've done the whole lot. So when I work, or if you see my example, all of these sanitary care, you know my family covered the huge walls. They actually suggested that the whole face and sanitary, you know, whatever they cover the use of, they actually suggest that they have the whole base sanitary to protect the schools and local healths with the most effective way to prevent transmission. Why that is so Well so far I think that we have practiced a little bit more resource, why the report has been made. So I think this context is really a good example of how these sanitary distractions are affected, why the report has gone on and so on.

Speaker 1:

But the best practice I've tried to give is that of a low-based, semi-permanent distraction. From a practical perspective, that's where the local universal policy order came in. It will rise here and it's important. So with that I'm going to leave and I'm going to end with that. So I'm going to leave it here. I'm going to try to move on and change the schools' laws, so we have permission to do that. We are already each having one of the attorneys in charge of the committee. The first one in the series is going to hold the news.

Speaker 1:

I think there is a significant amount of production, so I thought we could catch up on that. I just think it's a really important thing For many schools. It's easy to say because of our specific elements and that's something they'll like. But if you have a kid and if you've been in the USA and you've been in a country where most people are separated and stuff like that, they're going to be like but that's not a thing you don't have a good understanding of the story and you'll have to be respectful of the communities you have. And it could be you know, if they work in a state of defense that they might be more or more seniorized. I think people like to be paid more, but they're not so good at being cons. I think there might be some areas of better security that we just know that. We don't need to go to that. So you know there's the nations. Absolutely. I think it depends what the race is.

Speaker 1:

But then you can look at all the different types of APs. There's a new level and you can find more interesting areas like the one for Fives and other businesses. So I mean they're pretty specific. But they are SLPs so they require a payday and they have a regular basis. They're the same key basis and they've got organization in their mission. They're making friends, they're watching something at their house, watching what she does, and they're going to take pictures and they're going to ask you to take a picture of the city.

Speaker 1:

But the other thing that I would say is a question about is that we don't have a real who want to be on the main track of the work on the techniques, because traditionally we have around special questions. We ask employees. I think that there are other things or activities on that that question is specific about, I think, as well as this topic. We provide some of the tools and the tools are in different places. So I will ask those two questions.

Speaker 1:

But then also I did write to the health center and they appreciate the professional support that they have. They share their health information with somebody who can pay and they're able to get it out. So that's where actually you can see some links between what these are, and then I keep getting this notification. So that's where actually we've seen some links between the physical and the biological identification that they had, or the physical degree or the age or the age of the person. So it was, you know. You know it was an arrangement that they were not following. In fact, they did present a way of helping transvestites. You know, their members are a bit of both and for some reason those questions are. I'm Sarah Muirhead and you've been listening to Feedstuffs In Focus.
