The Sisters’ Network was founded in 1994 by Karen Eubanks Jackson, a 4-time breast cancer survivor who saw the need for a survivor-run network to support Black women.

Carl E. Douglas

Carl E. Douglas is in private practice at Douglas / Hicks Law in Los Angeles. 

Among his many honors is the “Loren Miller Lawyer of the Year” by the John M. Langston Bar Association twice, and Trial Lawyer of the Year by the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles.

Victories include $4.9 billion verdict against General Motors Corporation, an $8 million verdict against the LA Sheriff for an in-custody death and $3.8 million verdict for an LA filmmaker seriously injured in the George Floyd protests in 2020.

Hon. Larry Krasner

Larry Krasner is the 26th District Attorney of Philadelphia. Elected to the position in 2017, Krasner was one of the first U.S. district attorney candidates to run as a self-described “progressive prosecutor.” He campaigned on a platform to reform elements of the criminal justice system and to reduce incarceration.


Larry stands up for immigration, disability and gay rights, and free speech. During his first two terms as District Attorney, Larry has supported victims, he has exonerated the innocent, and he has held police accountable. He has reduced future years of incarceration and supervision while helping to drop the jail population. He was re-elected by a landslide for a third term in November 2025.

Hon. Nina Turner

Senator Turner is one of the strongest voices for social justice in America at this time. A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Sen. Nina Turner is an iconic truth-teller and fierce advocate for working people and progressive values.


Sen. Turner was the first woman elected to represent Cleveland’s Ward 1. She served as a State Senator representing Ohio’s 25th District from 2008-2014.


In 2014, Sen. Turner was the Democratic nominee for Ohio Secretary of State.

In 2016, and again in 2020, Sen. Turner was a national surrogate for Sen. Bernie Sanders‘ (I-Vt.) Democratic presidential campaign. Between those two campaigns, she co-founded and served as the National President of Our Revolution.

Ms. Addie Kitchen

Ms. Addie Kitchen is Steven Taylor’s grandmother. Ms. Addie (as she is affectionately called in the community of San Leandro) worked in law enforcement for 30 years for the California Dept. of Corrections. She was assigned to San Quentin State Prison where she started as a correctional officer. Ms. Addie was promoted to Correction Sergeant and retired from the Department as a Correctional Counselor.


Addie Kitchen was a longtime resident of San Leandro. She raised her children and her grandson Steven Taylor in San Leandro. Steven attended high school in San Leandro and was beloved by many people there.

Omar Farmer

Omar Farmer has successfully worked as an entrepreneur for the past 15 years. Prior to that he served as a Surface Warfare Officer in the U.S. Navy. As a service member he worked in various roles within both domestic and international environments. 

As a civilian, his level-headed and thoughtful approach led him to become a respected subject matter expert for Nextdoor.com by assisting them with combatting racial profiling and discrimination online. His efforts led to the creation of a neighborhood group called Oakland Neighbors Inspiring Trust. 


He also has experience serving on several boards, commissions, and committees. He served on the Reimagining Public Safety Task Force, Chairperson for Oakland’s Public Safety and Services Violence Prevention Oversight Commission (SSOC), Alameda County’s Veterans Affairs Commission, and BART’s Transit Security Advisory Committee. He is an Alternate Commissioner for the Oakland Police Commission.

Robynne Jeisman

Robynne Jeisman has worked for over 27 years in Australia, the US, Thailand, and India, with high-risk adolescents experiencing homelessness, juvenile justice, sexual exploitation & trafficking, mental health issues and addiction. 

Robynne has had a passion for positive and creative housing options for underserved youth for over 15 years. 


Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, she is the Founder of Turntable Housing, 

providing housing, life skill development & programming for youth in transition. 


Turntable facilitates healthy opportunities for young people to share life with others in the community and grow from strength to strength. 


Robynne also serves as a Board Member for YUPPORG, a 501(c)3 not for profit building youth empowerment through performing arts, fine arts, sports, mentorship & entrepreneurship.
