Seventeen Media started as a simple idea, born from a father’s desire to capture his son’s rugby league games. Armed with a camera, I began filming my son’s matches with a single purpose: to preserve those moments so he could look back on his junior rugby league days in the years to come. But as I continued filming, I realized this could be something much bigger—not only for my son but for the entire rugby league community. And so, the concept for a YouTube channel dedicated to junior rugby league came to life. I named it “Seventeen Media” as a nod to the 17 players that make up a rugby league team. What started as a hobby quickly evolved into a channel that became meaningful to many, capturing and sharing the spirit of junior rugby league for players, families, and fans alike. The channel now features over 500 videos and has reached 2.6 million views, with over 5,000 subscribers tuning in to watch young talent develop on the field.
