Good Girl Gone Human is an ongoing conversation that explores what it means to re-humanize ourselves. After a lifetime of trying to be seen as “good,” Holly and Kristina are diving into the idea of what it would feel like to put that label down- and embrace the whole spectrum of their humanity. This conversation leans into the big messy questions, like: what are the risks of putting the good label down? What would happen if we did accept the whole spectrum of our humanity? They look at the ways we dehumanize ourselves in the name of being good and the tools they’ve found for reclaiming those parts of ourselves we deem “bad.” There is an invitation for anyone who has felt dehumanized to join the conversation and re-humanize themselves in community.

This week Holly and Kristina are joined by Teddy Boldt, singer of Teddy at Night and Holly's older brother! Teddy shares his lifelong journey as an artist that led him to his current creative project. After playing in bands where his whole self was not fully accepted, he leaned in to the importance of authentic community. The music industry can strip people of their individual expression as a way to capitalize on their art. Teddy has found people to collaborate with who are committed to humanizing themselves as a way to make art that inspires, connects, and moves people. They discuss the idea of the burden of being a true artist and how that shapes someone's relationship to their creative process and art. Teddy also shares his heart behind the song Good in the End, the instrumental used at the intro & outro of each episode!
