Dr. Cindy Petersen was 2019 ACSA's Exemplary Woman in Education as well as ACSA Region 3's Outstanding Woman Leader for 2020. Cindy earned the recognition of ACSA Region 3 Superintendent of the Year in 2013 and again in 2020.  In 2023, she was named one of Comstock magazine's Women in Leadership honorees. Dr. Petersen has been a leader in public education for over 35 years, serving for twenty years as a superintendent. She has been an adjunct professor for Brandman University and the UMass Global doctorate programs for over a decade. In her current role as the C.E.O./Senior Leadership Consultant of Courageous Leadership Coaching and Consulting she continues her passionate and intentional work by supporting leaders in their pursuit of excellence. Dr. Marilou Ryder is a bestselling author, UMass Global doctoral professor, and women’s leadership expert.
