Why Habitat for Endangered Species Matters

Bald Eagles are now commonplace in Maine. Piping Plovers are making a dramatic comeback. It’s all thanks to a decades-long law called the Endangered Species Act, as well as the dedicated, hard work of thousands of volunteers and organizations dedicated to restoring these vulnerable species. Laura Minich Zitske, the Associate Director of Conservation at Maine Audubon, speaks with Colin about why it’s so important to protect and restore threatened or endangered species in Maine, and why laws like the Endangered Species Act matter.
