Thank you so much for being here with us today. A warm welcome to this Aries New Moon podcast. I am setting the scene for you. I'm joining you from my spare bedroom where I have fiber, seedling pots and seeds and soil and watering cans. I have been sowing some seeds over the weekend. I'm trying to be a gardener. I'm trying to be a vegetable gardener and really have a beautiful ecosystem where I feed the bees, the birds, myself the reason I'm talking about seeds is it's really relevant to this Aries New Moon. Aries is the beginning of the astrological New year, and new moons are about planting seeds this portal is a portal for courage aligned action, new beginnings. So in this episode, as always gonna dive into the somatic healing available for us. But I want to speak about manifesting goal setting and pacing ourselves. And I've got some personal stories to share 'cause I did a little bit of reflection at the weekend. I had some celebrations come in on the last full moon and they were all part of my. Intention setting, which I do with the moons and I do with the seasons. So I thought I'd share some personal examples, and as always, I'd like to cover the practicals, so we'll be talking about the body parts and the influence when the moon is, and how to work with it in a nervous system friendly way. So let's begin. We have this new moon in Aries in London on Friday, April the 17th at 12:51 PM in New York at 7:51 AM and in LA 4:51 AM. And like I said, it's not just any new Moon. This one really holds a lot of potency being the start of the astrological new year. So for me, it feels so much more in alignment to have a new year when spring arrives and we start that sort of slightly uprising energy and it can feel like rebirth. You might be seeing the lambs or the baby birds being born, and it can feel like a reset. Like I feel a little bit more ready to get out there and put my energy into the world. And I return to your fire but today we're not just talking about goals in action. I will really focus on moving towards your desires, your heart led desires without dysregulating your nervous system, because this is where I see many of my clients, so many women get stuck. Probably you are already navigating, especially my perimenopause friends, when we are navigating, peaks of anxiety or general low, low level anxiety, a lot of the time, hyper productivity and possibly even cycles of burnout. This kind of energy can feel like fuel because areas is a fire sign, but it could also feel like pressure. So I'm gonna invite you to check in with your internal dialogue. If it's more pressure than fuel, it could sound like, oh my God, I gotta have every goal figured out. I've got to know what I'm doing for the rest of the year. I've gotta have it on a spreadsheet. I wall planner, it's all gotta be there. I a feeling of I should be doing more. Or if I don't act now, if I don't act fast, I'll miss my chance. And these really create micro patterns in the day. Hopping from one task to another. So starting one thing, not completing it, but going to do something else. So you're pegging out the washing whilst you're making a cup of tea, whilst you're texting a friend, whilst you're thinking about what's for dinner. Whilst you are mentally writing an email, you know, constantly checking your phone, that's another one. Or your to-do list. A really common one is just the habit of saying yes. And saying yes when your body's actually saying no, and also skipping rest, or not even knowing what rest looks like, but feeling guilty, feeling behind, or just going full speed and then crashing into exhaustion. So instead of creating aligned action, what happens is we can end up in cycles. So that look like overdrive burnout going into shutdown and repeating them. And this is why the nervous system matters, because the work here isn't just to make a goal and take action, but it's learn how to feel safe taking action. And this is really important for heart led business owners as well. Part of having a business is planning is setting goals, and it can feel really overwhelming if we are just starting out, or perhaps if we've had burnout and we're returning to the work. So as I move through this episode, I just want you to gently notice where are you moving from pressure, and also where are you moving from truth. And let's speak about the element of fire. Fire is an upward moving energy, activating, galvanizing, passion, and bold, and each sign has a ruling planet. This one is ruled by Mars, the planet of action, desire, instinct, and also of war. But this energy, it wants movement, it wants initiation, and it wants truth. As we maybe move through midlife or we are in our healing era of our life, the reframe can be that the true power of Aries isn't false. It's aligned action, and it's where will meets surrender desire meets inner knowing, and that feeling of movement replaces urgency. So this is a new beginning that's not being forced into existence, but it's emerging through you. We'll be tuning in in our Somatic Healing circle, which is on Thursday, the 17th of April at 7:30 PM in the uk. And i'll be asking my community. What is already trying to move through me rather than what's my goal and what do I need to make happen? What's already here and what could I birth with this creation? And because that air is energy can feel galvanizing, it can feel like urgency or pressure and impulsiveness or even anger. We need to tune into our body. What's the somatic impact of these feelings? Common ones can be a erasing heart, a tight chest, or jaw. I'm really gonna speak more about the jaw, 'cause this is an important one with anger, restlessness, like you can't switch off really common. One is irritability over small things or that internal sense of go, go, go. Now if your nervous system is already activated. This energy doesn't just inspire action, it amplifies the state that you are already in. So for the women I work with, especially if you are, managing a busy career, job holding a lot of responsibility, navigating PMS, health issues, perimenopause, this can really show up in a very real way like. Waking up feeling behind. So waking up in a cortisol response, your mind running before your feet hit the ground. So being in the head before the body and moving through your day, just ticking boxes and maybe only feeling a sense of pride or satisfaction when you have realized that you've been, productive. And there's no sense of presence to any of it. So one of my examples of this for me was having a goal of going to the gym three times a week, no matter what time of year it was. And, I began to dissociate. So I was hitting the goal, but I was, I was really numbing out and dissociating from my body so that I could just be in my head and tell my body to go. And then eventually I was pulling muscles and not enjoying it. So I have played around with my morning routine, which I'll speak more about on another episode. But say we are navigating PMS, we are cyclical bodies. This Aries is fire. It can feel more like very heightened irritability. So we are at capacity or we're coming outside a window of tolerance, emotional reactivity. So our needs are not being met. That might mean we're snapping at people we love, or feeling frustrated with ourselves for not having the same capacity. And then in perimenopause, this might be more like sudden waves of anger or all rage that feel unfamiliar, feel like they're coming out of nowhere, or brain fog mixed with pressure to perform. So perhaps the body's saying no, but you feel like you've made the commitment and also exhaustion and inability to fully rest. This is the moment where many women actually don't allow what needs to happen, but turn against themselves and think, why can't I handle this? I used to just be able to push through. I should be able to do more. I'm failing at life. My body's let me down and try to push harder, try to move faster, and that is when this disconnect from the body comes. Like I said, with my goal of the gym. I wasn't tuning into the body. So we can go into that freeze state. We might procrastinate, we might feel disconnected, numb, dissociated. You know what you want, but you can't always access the energy to move towards it. So the truth is these states are failures. They're just nervous system responses. And the real practice here is about pacing. I've spoken about this on other episodes. I work with it, particularly through my program, feeling Wholeness when I work with women in their nervous system. Pacing, pacing, pacing. It's remembering life has a rhythm and it's not always at full speed. Even though Aries might ask that of you, you might be energetically tuning into that need to go faster. Somatic pacing is key, not following the calendar, not just following your expectations or the external pressure and noise, but pacing can look like, just taking a breath before responding instead of reacting. Presence is important here. So doing one task fully instead of five tasks halfway resting before you crash. So not just saying, oh, I just wanna get this thing done, but actually, up from your computer screen or putting down what the task you are doing, and then taking that breath, honoring lower capacity days instead of fighting them. Moving your body gently when intensity rises instead of suppressing it. Aligned action isn't rushed, it's regulated and the benefits of regulation well, so many, your intuition becomes clearer, your energy becomes more sustainable, and your actions actually create the results that you want. And this is how we work with Aries Energy as conscious. Cyclical women, not by matching its intensity, but by meeting it with awareness, softness, and trust. So what about if you're navigating those physical challenges that can arise with each moon? Aries rules the head, the face, and the jaw. So potentially you might be tuning into maybe more headaches or migraines, jaw tension or clenching. Also, mental overwhelm. And the deeper layer I really wanted to speak about here was the jaw. Because most women that I ask or work with notice that the jaw clench is when they're feeling stressed. Or sometimes even when we sleep and we are teeth grinding, a lot of us won't even have an awareness that this is through jaw clenching, but just checking it with it. Now, if you just check the level of tension around your lips, your tongue, your jaw. Your head, maybe your temples. Oh my dear. The jaw, it holds suppressed anger, and what I'd also say is anger is tender subject because we don't always have a healthy expression for our anger. In fact, last year we did a whole month in healing portal around anger. We did master classes, somatic workshops, shaking breath work, meditation around it so that we can learn as women how to feel it safely and how to express it because it is a sacred emotion. Sacred rage, sacred anger, and we are holding it for generations of women that didn't have the space to hold it or process it. Anger isn't a problem. Anger is energy that wants to move. So we can learn to the channel it instead of suppress it during airy season. So the things that I would suggest and also that I guided, my community through was when you've got that feeling of anger, try. Somatically using the body. So shake the body. You could push against a wall, wring a towel, or vocalize it, use your voice, scream into a pillow, whatever it is that you need to do to channel it. And anger can be from a long time ago. It could be from your teenage years, it could be from a previous life. It could be mul. It could be intergenerational, but the body still needs to complete what it couldn't complete before. Also a little bit more on headaches because they're so common. And I wanted to offer some,, wisdom through the Ayurvedic lens, so there's three body constitutions. And again, this is the work that I do inside the healing portal. Weren't we looking at our individual. Dosha or our constitution. So if these words and news say in this, world, because they will become, clearer and make more sense. Or you might be building on your knowledge of Ayurveda. So you've got three constitutions, Vata, bitta, and Kaha, and our. Constitution will determine the I imbalances that we're prone to feeling. So headaches for these constitutions actually show up at different places in the head and they feel different. So for a Vata body type. We are normally feeling stress headaches. For pitta, it might be a migraine with heat intensity and a feeling of pressure. And for Kapha it feels more like heaviness and stagnation in the head. So the simples my dear. Hydration is always key, but you can bring in things like nasya, which is a nasal oil. Oils are like medicine for the body, and I'm teaching my community how to use and work with oils month by month inside the portal. Other things, you know, nervous system. There's so many, cranial nerves that we have inside our head, our brains. So if you're prone to headaches, soothing rituals, this is so important for you. Just because your body is never working against you. It's always guiding you back to balance. So what do you need to do to feel more balanced under this moon? Now let's talk about coals. The point of the new Moon often reminds us to start again or come back and visit a chapter that we've been trying to consciously script work with intentions and goals. But let's be. The matriarchal energy when we set goals rather than the patriarchal. A goal without regulation can just feel like pressure, and a goal without alignment can just feel forceful. So how we work with them is intention and embodiment. Setting a goal, how does that feel in my body? Does it feel too big and impossible? Does it feel exciting, passionate, and then layering on nervous system safety, because the manifestations, it is a mindset thing. But when we bring the body in, this is when we can take quantum leaps. It's blending thoughts, feelings, actions, and the nervous system capacity to hold it. And when an intention is alive, it moves for our daily choices. So every day inviting you to tune in and ask, what is it I desire today? What do I feel ready to receive? And what does my body feel safe enough having, and this is where I wanted to share some exciting stories with you. This month I reached a vision that I've been holding for a while. When I was in Cape Town, I received an email that I'd been waiting for and it was good news. And our capacity to hold doesn't just mean holding difficult emotions, but also holding joy and the next level version of you. So when I saw the title come in on the email, I paused. I oriented into my environment. I actually took my time. I made a. Cup of ceremonial cacao, and I thought I'll just sit and take my time as I read the email to say, you are officially a certified trauma-informed somatic coach for women. So I didn't rush things. I, I sat and enjoyed reading all the feedback. I even shed a tear. I was able to. Really received the words from my teacher, and they weren't words I was necessarily expecting. The old version of me was expecting criticism, what my coach had to say was constructive and. Incredible actually. And she was able to see a version of me that I can't see for myself. So for me, this is why being in community or working with a coach or a therapist or a counselor is, invaluable. They can see something different to you. So that was the frequency of celebration. I quit my day job in 2021, and I had the vision to just have a full-time wellness business. But the reality was my qualifications weren't quite where I wanted them to be, to offer the depth of healing that I wanted. And I had the vision of becoming a trauma informed coach, and I've met that goal. And I've worked with pacing here. Working with a goal, you have to consider many things your time. Resources, financial resources, balancing work and home life, and studying time, and also holding the gravitas of the weight of this work. Sometimes when you're working with trauma, there's a lot in there. And I want my work to be deeply impactful. And if I just rush from one client to the next and I don't reflect and I don't rest myself, then the work's not gonna have the depth that I desire it to. So it took some time, but I held the vision with each new moon. I kept coming back to regulation, regulating myself enough to receive this title, work with the incredible women that come to me, that open themselves up to deeper trust to share themselves. This work is so important. It impacts the whole planet, has a ripple effect when people resolve their trauma this is a quantum leap for me from where I was working, hustling nine to fiveing, to being in this heart led business, working with women and yeah, changing the planet. What's gonna come up when we're working with goals is blocks. I've had to face so many demons as I've worked towards this goal. Things like fear of failure, fear of being seen, visibility, perfectionism, self-doubt. Oh, all of these things can come up to face us., Here's some things that you can work with. I work with this in a cyclical way, so when it comes up, I feel it, I pause with it or if I can't feel it, I'm just noticing it. Ah, here's my fear of failure. Oh, I can really feel this sitting in my heart. That feels quite big. I'm not sure if I can be with that just now. So I'm gonna come back to that feeling. And ladies, it often can really show itself up at certain points on that cycle. So it could be the luteal phase of my menstrual cycle or the full moon. This is a time when we are asked as a collective to face things that might be in the shadow, just to bring them into the light. Somatically, we can work with them in many ways. We can slow down and listen and work with the moon. We might cry. We might work with those techniques I mentioned before, like moving the body, pushing against a wall, journaling, somatic movement, and awareness. A really fantastic one that we've been exploring in the membership is emotional freedom technique, tap. So we've just done a masterclass in this. This is available replay, so many sessions that you could benefit from this month. So remembering the full moon is where we release the new moon, is where we choose. We choose differently. We set our intentions. So I love to give you some soul inquiries. You might pause, write these down or fill them, see how they land in the body. Are you truly showing up for yourself? What do you deeply desire right now? Where are you being called to be more courageous? And what would it like to move from self-trust instead of pressure? And can you let these answers come from the body, not the mind. So to work with this Aries New Moon, my invitation is definitely to start something new. Just imperfectly. Just go for it. Maybe you are gonna start a garden. Plant some seeds, grow some flowers. My invitation is to work with what's moving through you and move your body to process emotion. Take one, aligned action towards your desire, and to, support your body. Maybe you're gonna come back to your morning routine. How are things looking springtime for you? If you are in the northern hemisphere or autumn for you, if you're in the Southern hemisphere, what little tweaks can you make just to support your body, especially if you're feeling tension around the head, the jaw in these body parts under the influence of Aries. So if you do want to come deeper into this work, then come along to the Somatic Healing Moon Circle on Thursday, April the 17th at seven 30. You can do this as a drop in, just pay what you feel is right. But I've just mentioned the healing portals, incredible masterclasses, somatic sessions, all of the moon circles are in there. They're free to members and you can get them on replay any time. So inside you'll get. A Vedic support for hormones, a community walking this path with you, and you'll be the first to find out about our retreats and events. So check them out in the show notes I would love to hear your biggest takeaway from this session. What's that one step that you're going to take? Just that one micro action. Using the energy of fire to move you forwards. Next month we'll be moving into tourist season, which is an earth sign, and this is the next chapter in the story after planting the seeds. So it's really important to work with each moon with each en energy. If you want to consciously create your life, you can let go of your stresses, your pains. You can work through that trauma. You don't have to do it all at once, and it can be as delightful as just tuning into the energy that the cosmos provides for us. So thank you so much for listening.
