Thank you so much for being here with us today Hello, beautiful souls, and welcome back to the podcast. Today, we are gathering under the energy of this beautiful new moon in Taurus, and it arrives on May the 16th in London at 9:01 PM, in New York and Toronto at 4:00 PM, and Los Angeles and Vancouver at 1:00 PM. Oh, I'm gonna invite you into a breath, and a big theme for this moon is pleasure. And I'm sitting here, I've just had my ceremonial cacao, and I have lit a little fire after doing my yoga practice and my pranayama, and I'm just grounding in. I'm just stabilizing after the practice, and I'm gonna invite you just to do that for yourself now. Even if you're driving or moving, just one adjustment that can help you to move a little bit more towards the end of comfort, stability, pleasure within your physical being, within your body This moon is a return to safety, a return to what truly matters. And like all new moons, we've got new beginnings. So you might like to light a new candle, you might like to open a new page of your journal, and you might like to think about some fresh intentions or reaffirming some intentions that you've been working towards. But these new beginnings have a bit more potency when they're rooted in self-worth, in clarity, pleasure, embodiment, security, and long-lasting foundations. And the symbology for this moon, the bull, the bull in the field chewing the cud,, it's an earth sign, and it's really about being connected to our natural world, our natural environment, and going at a slower pace. So my invitation is any time there's overwhelm, any time it feels like your nervous system is ramping up and you've got to go faster and your head starts to spin, please connect back to your body. Whether it's like bringing your hands together and feeling the physicality of your body, or you're wiggling your toes and feeling your feet, or maybe you carry a crystal or a stone around with you and you're just gonna touch it and like feel the smoothness or the roughness of the stone. Taurus is slow medicine. It's about the kind of growth that happens when we feel safe enough to soften. As I said, Taurus is an earth sign and it's ruled by the planet Venus. So feel into that Venusian energy. Venus is the planet of love, beauty, pleasure, abundance, connection, values. And Taurus energy reminds us that healing is not only emotional or spiritual, but it's physical too. Healing lives in our body, in the senses, in touch, in rest, in nourishment, in feeling present enough to actually experience life. And this moon asks, what would it look like to create a life that feels as good as it looks? I think we've all been there. We've set ourself an intention or we've worked towards a goal, and when we get there, we're like, "Ah, I don't It doesn't feel as good as I- I'd expect." And embodiment is key here. It's really about the journey and tuning into, is this what I truly value? Is this sustainable for me and my body? Am I connecting with it, or am I so disembodied that I'm really only able to obtain this goal by recognizing it in my head? Taurus energy is deeply connected to security, not like performative security, having the big house, the flashy car, the great job. Not survival mode security either, but real safety, the kind that allows your jaw to unclench, your nervous system to soften, and the kind that lets your body stop bracing for impact. And this becomes especially powerful when we view it through that trauma-informed lens, because if you're holding high stress, if you've experienced trauma, PTSD, burnout, emotional unpredictability, hyper-independence, or you've been in long periods of survival mode, pleasure can actually feel really unsafe. I wouldn't have believed that a few years ago, but it's true. Maybe if I share a little personal experience, 'cause I know other people have had this as well. It's like you're in a good place, things are going comfortably or smoothly, or you actually feel quite happy, but there's that saying, "I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop." You're like, "Well, what's gonna happen? When's it gonna go wrong? When's my peace gonna be disturbed?" You can't trust that it's safe to hold the capacity of safety, of comfort, of pleasure. And rest can feel unsafe. Slowing down can feel unsafe. Receiving can feel really unsafe. And many of us have learned to associate safety with vigilance, so I can only relax or be comfortable if my nervous system is still scanning for the thing that might go wrong. So you're still kind of guarded. You're anticipating danger before it arrives. But this is where the archetype of Taurus reminds us, we must slow down. It's okay to receive, to enjoy my life, to really open up to deeper levels of trust, and to feel. Like, it's about the body. It's about feeling in the body. And of course, the nervous system may respond with resistance, and that's not because you're broken or anything's wrong, but because your body adapted intelligently to environments where softness may not felt safe. And this is why pleasure work is nervous system work. Pleasure's not frivolous. Pleasure's regulation and it's presence, and pleasure is your body remembering, "I'm allowed to exist without constantly proving, producing, fixing, or protecting." And this moon invites you to gently rebuild the relationship with your body and creating safety from the inside out. So a lot of us will outsource our pleasure- Outsource our safety, outsource our peace. But it really is about grounding and rooting into where that lives within your body, within your system, within your inner environment, within your nervous system. So yeah, this is kind of a moon of embodiment, and through small movements of enough-ness. Definitely not demanding urgency. With our last moon in Aries, we might have felt that urgency of fire and new beginnings, and our next moon will be in Gemini. Our next new moon, our next season will be Gemini, and there's a fast-paced moving, sometimes slightly chaotic feeling about this. And that's why even though my body constitution is Vata and I've got a lot of fight or flight and movement in my system, I have really grounded into Taurus season and gone slower. I have been stopping work midday and going for a walk. I actually got to the sauna at midday the other day, and I just came back to my body. My mind did want to take me out and go onto my very big to-do list, but I really know the value of coming back to the Earth. The Earth is you. Your body is the Earth, and our Earth is in crisis because we are over-producing, over-extracting. And if that is something that you don't like witnessing in the world, you have to start with your own body. You have to come back what's real and what you can be in sovereignty of, what you can I don't want to use the word control, but what you can change. So what is your body craving underneath the noise and the pressure and the survival and the performance? As the moon, the sun, and Mercury bloom together in Taurus, our first Earth sign of the astrological year, we're really invited into that embodiment. So what in this moment can you do to root into yourself, into the sensuality of being alive, into safety not being an idea, but a felt experience within your body, of anchoring, stabilizing, and rooting into the medicine of you? So in the moon circle that we'll be connecting with our community in online Friday the 15th at 7:30 PM, I'll be asking my community, what supports you in this season? What feels nourishing? What helps your body to soften? What helps you to trust life enough to receive it? Because Taurus is not interested in manifestation that bypasses the body. It wants abundance, but it wants it to feel sustainable. It wants embodied wealth and pleasure that your nervous system can actually hold. And I think there's a deeper conversation that I'd really like us to have, and that's about, pleasure being physiological and pleasure being biological. And I could speak a little bit to hormones here. Some hormones can help us to access those feelings on a deeper level. So some of them would be dopamine, which is our motivation and reward hormone. So it's released when we actually anticipate pleasure. So maybe like at the end of a long workday, taking your bra off, kicking your shoes off, sinking into a warm bath. When we actually achieve goals, we release dopamine, when we receive validation, when we complete tasks, and when we engage in pleasurable activities. The other one is oxytocin. This is our bonding, our trust and safety hormone. It's one of the love hormones, and it's there when we're experiencing intimacy. So it's, the cuddle hormone, the hugs, and this can be a self-hug, a hug with a tree, an animal, a person. This is when we receive eye contact with someone that feels safe. This is the hormone of co-regulation. Serotonin, that's another pleasure hormone, and this is again when we're feeling satisfaction. It's released with mood regulation or feelings of wellbeing, and it's also supported by sunlight, movement, good nutrition, and sleep. The other one is endorphin releasing. It's the body's natural painkiller, and it's released when we laugh, when we exercise, when we dance, when we orgasm, actually when we cry. I'll just speak to cortisol, actually, the stress hormone. It's not itself a pleasure hormone, but it can strongly affect our ability to receive pleasure. So if we've got chronically elevated cortisol, it's gonna suppress our pleasure and reduce our libido. It can dysregulate our blood sugar, so our moods are all over the place, and it can keep the body in a protection mode. So that's why balancing our hormones is so important, and that is the work that we do in the healing portal. We have a very special offer available at the moment. If you check the show notes, we're offering 50% off a month inside the healing portal, you could access the masterclasses and all of the moon circles where we actually take the time to embody that regulation and that hormone balancing. So Taurus energy teaches us that safety is tangible, not theoretical, and it lives in your body. So my question is, are you regulating your breath? Are you getting enough sleep? What does your food nourishment look like? Particularly a spotlight on financial stability, supportive relationships, kind and loving touch, boundaries, and definitely consistency one of the things that I've been embodying with my yoga practice is the consistency of it. It is not about doing really complicated asanas or really long practices, but the consistency of it. So making sure every single morning I get a chance to just sit on my mat, maybe do three asanas and some pranayama. And this, for me, builds this rhythm in my nervous system when my body starts to predict this time where I connect with myself, my breath, my body. I offer this nourishment practice, and I've been building on that for years. What i- what is that for you? Is it a morning routine? Is it something that you do with a nighttime ritual? Do you down tools just before you eat lunch and connect with your breath? One of the big things under the spotlight is, we speak about holistic health, money and our finances is part of a, healthy ecosystem in our life, and Taurus is deeply linked to money. Money not just as currency, but as a nervous system language. Because money can represent many things. It can represent safety and choice, freedom, rest, capacity, security, survival, and power. But for many of us, it, it's held fear or scarcity, shame, instability, dependence, or pressure. And I will speak a little bit about the history of money, especially for women. Women's relationship with money did not emerge in isolation. It emerged through generations of restriction, dependence, and exclusion. In the UK, it's only been around 50 years since women could independently access mortgages and credit without discrimination under the Sex Discrimination Act of 1975. Before this, banks could legally require women to have a male guarantor or refuse unmarried women financial access altogether. I mean, wild, right? Before the Married Women's Property Act of 1882, a married woman's property legally belonged to her husband. Many women could not even open bank accounts independently without male authorization. So when women today experience fear around money or visibility, wealth, receiving more, charging more, or becoming financially powerful, it's not personal, it is part of history. It's inherited probably within the seven generations of coding that we hold within our DNA. Some of it lives in the nervous system collectively. I spoke about women in the UK, but there are not equal rights across the whole of the world, and there are many parts of the world where women still have no rights to property or access to money. Now women make up nearly 47% of mortgage applications in the UK, with a huge rise in solo female buyers over recent years. But despite recent progress, there is a profound gender wealth gap still. Recent UK data shows men hold on average around £78,000 more wealth than women, and women continue to experience lower pensions, lower investment participation more unpaid care work, and greater financial anxiety, despite being highly capable financial managers. And what's fascinating from a nervous system perspective is many women were conditioned for financial survival, but not necessarily for financial expansion. So we're conditioned to budget, to stretch, to manage, to sacrifice, to carry, but not to receive abundantly or to hold wealth safely in our body. And this really is important, it matters, because your nervous system has capacity ceiling for what feels safe to hold are you expanding to hold more love, to hold more money, to hold more pleasure, more visibility, more success, more rest? If your body associates expansion with risk, danger, too much responsibility, criticism, abandonment, burnout, or collapse, it will unconsciously contract when more becomes available. I really believe this is why up-leveling financially is not only practical work, but it is somatic work. It is identity work. It is nervous system work. And inside the healing portal, there is a masterclass on conscious money and expanding wealth. And this is something I believe that we should be doing in groups together as women. And it may feel edgy and it may feel uncomfortable. And perhaps you don't like to talk about money with your partner, with your friends, or you don't talk about it at all. But it is part of our life. And I've done a lot of money mindset work and a lot somatic work as well. So under this moon, it's an invitation to look at your finances, open your bank account, look at the numbers and breathe, ground before you do it. Maybe to create a financial plan so that you can do the things that bring you pleasure, that you can have some time off, especially if you're a solopreneur. It can feel really risky to take time off because of our finances. So this is a good time to look honestly at savings and spending, to raise your standards, to charge appropriately, to invest in yourself. It's felt really risky every time for me that I sign up for a new training or to invest in myself to learn more or to be held by another. But it's the rewards are so rich and so deep and they always give when you put money towards your health, you'll always reap the rewards. And so this moon really helps us to build slowly and to think long term and to ground your dreams into tangible reality. Wealth is not built through panic and through an unstable nervous system. It is built through consistency, patience, steadiness, devotion and self-worth. And alongside this grounded Taurus energy, Uranus is actually active as well. It's awakening consciousness and liberating old patterns and asking us to think differently, to think differently about money, about success, about womanhood, about safety. Because perhaps true abundance for you isn't actually having more, but it might be finally believing I no longer have to survive to deserve my life. So under this new moon, I invite you to ask your body what does financial stability feel like within me? What would change if I trusted myself more? And what if abundance was not something I had to chase, but something I slowly became available for? So these are soul inquiries I'll be taking my community through in a somatic healing circle for the new moon. Just a reminder, it's live on the 15th of May at 7:30 PM, but it's always recorded so you can get the replay. And this moon practice, it is something that we've done consistently in our community, and we've looped back round every Taurus full moon and new moon and revisited these subjects and these ideas, and then we can reflect and see where we've grown and where we have built more capacity. One other thing that I'm gonna dive really deeply into this moon, it's such an important subject, is using our voice because Taurus rules our throat, our neck, our vocal cords, our tonsils, and there is a mirroring of this area, if you think the space between your chin and your heart, that's where- Taurus rules, and there is a mirroring within the womb space as well. And I have deepened my training recently through my women's Ayurvedic health coaching training, and I'm gonna be doing a deep dive into the link between the womb space and the voice. So for us that hold the jaw, hold tension, don't speak our truth, we often get issues with the throat. We might lose our voice. We might get tonsillitis. We might get a croaky, crackly voice, or we have challenges in the womb space, PMS, cramps. Perhaps we've had, hysterectomy, and we want to reconnect with this space. We want to connect with the power here, with the creative process here. I'm gonna be offering the invitation inside the moon circle to dive deeper into this work. And it is really important for us to use our voice because if we're not using our voice, we're not able to express what's arising from our heart space, and the voice is a portal of expressing our truth from our heart. Oh, so this is... It's feeling like a really beautiful moon for me I used to struggle with Taurus season. I never used to really be able to connect with what's in bloom. If you look at the gardens or the parks at this time, there's a lot of flowers that are in bloom. And my invitation is as you pass the little next patch of nature that you see, to slow down and perhaps just feel the breath moving through your throat space and to connect with what's in bloom within you. So thanks so much for being here. It really means so much for me that you're connecting with the rhythms of the moon, of nature, and I'll see you for the next episode which will be the full moon Thank you a million times over for joining us on this podcast episode.
