This short Season 2 preview of Beauty in the Break is a gentle reintroduction and a small but intentional shift. Foster and Cesar reflect on what the first year of the podcast made possible, what they’ve learned along the way, and how the show is evolving. This season moves beyond finding beauty in broken moments to also exploring the beauty of breaking barriers, both inside ourselves and out in the world.

Starting Feb 3rd, Beauty in the Break will be a weekly podcast, with new episodes every Tuesday. Expect deeper conversations, more guests, and stories that expand what feels possible, shared with more ease, honesty, and room to breathe. Lots more to come, beloved. Thank you for being here.

You can also watch the episodes on YouTube.

Hello, beloved. Welcome back to Beauty in the Break.

Cesar and I are just going to give you a little preview of what's to come this season.

I think we're basically doing season two now.

We started almost a year ago. We started recording a year ago, for sure.

And I just have to say, our year has been everything we set out to do.

It has been more, I think, in my opinion.

We had a lot of goals, and also we gave ourselves a lot of space for play.

Let's see what happens. Let's see what goes on.

My hair was longer.

It was very unkempt.

You posted that thing on our Instagram of before and after.

It was before and after.

How it started.

How it started.

And how it's going.

That's right. That's fantastic. I love that.

My hair was so different.

It was very different.

I don't know what I was doing. It was like a mane.

Yeah. Also, that was right in the middle of the fires here.

We were recording in the middle of the fires.

And I've never been a host before.

I've never really interviewed people before.

I think I learned a lot of skills this year.

And what's been really incredible is you listening have joined us on this journey.

The people who have found the show and have connected with the show are, have been reaching out to us, have been sharing what was moving them.

And it has affected people in a way that I just, I'd hoped for, but I didn't fully expect.

I didn't fully believe that that was possible.

And it's like far exceeded my expectations.

And I'm just so grateful.

I feel the same way you do, actually.

I was flabbergasted by the amount of people who reached out and sent us their life story and their heavy things happening in the world.

And I, I don't know if I said this on air before, but I made a point every episode to try to say something that was a little embarrassing for myself.

And I made a mental note to do that.

And I feel freer sitting behind this microphone now that we come back here.

Yeah, we've really said a lot.

So if you're new, please go back and listen, because there's a whole lot that you did not know about the two of us.

So, yeah.

What are we changing this year?

So, yeah.

So, well, we took this little rest, right?

We were resting, but we were also taking a step back and looking at our year and looking at what was working, what wasn't working, what still felt tight, what felt great.

And we want to keep that.

And we're kind of like reevaluating little bits and pieces and fine tuning along the way.

So one of the things that has been a question for us since the very beginning with this show, just like inside baseball on podcasting, is are we going to do this show every other week?

Are we going to do this show every week?

And I knew from the beginning that a show like this is work.

It is work to produce.

It's work we love to do.

And it's work and it's time consuming.

And we have other things in our lives and family and children.

And I was concerned about doing something every single week and then burning out.

And that was my great fear about committing to like a weekly release.

So we started slow and we did every other week and really tried to make the very best show that we could make in that time.

That was really that really worked for us, I think.

And increasing to weekly is, you know, we're an independent podcast.

We're just, it's just us and our producer, Glenn, and sometimes our editor, Bessie.

We want to try something, which is we want to go forward into this new season in big quotes here, whatever this new year is.

And we want to try to give you more content.

We want to give you a weekly show.

That's every single Tuesday.

And how we're going to do that is we're going to go with ease.

Because my fear still in this is that it's going to become a little too overwhelming.

But that might, I am committed to not doing that.

I'm committed to not white knuckling this.

So I want to give ourselves permission to, if that feels, begins to feel stressful in any way, that we let ourselves pull back.

But for now, we're going weekly, which means more guests.

We can have a lot more guests this year.

We have so many people we are trying to bring on to the show who've already wanted to be on the show.

And I just, like, the list goes on and on and on.

It's creatives.

It's artists.

It's leaders.

It's people with really fascinating stories.

Our new kind of mantra for this season is that it's more than the beauty in our broken moments.

But we are also exploring the beauty of breaking barriers.

And barriers within ourselves that we were taught, that we were given when we were growing up, that didn't really align for us anymore.

And then it's barriers out in the world.

This is the thing that society says should be the case.

And most people are doing it.

And I don't feel like doing that.

I want to do something different.

And so the people that we want to bring on the show this year are going to expand your mind.

And if you have something that you're scared to do or you have a barrier that you're trying to break through within yourself or out in the world, these people are going to show you that as possible.

I love this word expander.

I use it all the time, as you know.

Which is like someone who is going to say, yeah, you can do that.

They're going to show you like I'm just like you.

And I did this really hard thing.

And here I am on the other side of it.

And it gives your brain permission to dream and to know that that's possible.

And that's who we want to bring on the show this year.

And we have so many people lined up.

It's really incredible.

It makes me want to dive deeper.

It gives me the opportunity to dive deeper and say more things from a deeper place for me.

I work better when I am calm and relaxed.

And when things don't have to feel like they need to be something.

I don't think most people work better that way.

I think we work under stress.

And then the product suffers from it.

Whatever it is.

So I wanted us to find a place that we could be more vulnerable and honest from a calm, more relaxed place.

That felt less buttoned up.

I want to go into this new season more real than I have ever been.

More clear than I've ever been.

I want maybe three embarrassing things in an episode for that matter.

And I also enjoy the fact that we have this list of great guests that are coming in here.

Some of these people are people that you listening will know.

Your television, film, whatever.

And then some of them are people that mean the most to us.

But no one else outside of our circle knows.

But we're going to consistently try to find a way to bring you versions of how people broke barriers in their life.

So you can take something with you or you can see yourself in that person and say, if they can do it, then I can do it.

Exactly.

Which is what you call an expander.

My main thing in this whole podcast is to find amazing things in this world that we all share with each other and then put it out in the front of the stage and say, look at this.

We have way more in common than what we think.

So next week, we'll have brand new episodes every Tuesday starting February 3rd.

We've got some fun new surprises, some little segments that we're playing around with.

I want you to reach out to us and I want you to tell us what you think.

Tell us, did this move you?

I'd like to see more of this.

Could you do a topic on this?

We have an email address, beautyinthebreakpod@gmail.com.

Our lines are open.

You can email us anytime and let us know.

And I don't want you to miss anything.

So if you are, whatever podcast app you're listening in right now, if you go to the little plus sign in the corner or hit the word follow, follow our show so that you don't miss anything.

And then if you are so inclined and you're like, yes, I love Foster and Caesar's show so much, leave us a rating and review.

It really helps other people understand what the show is about and what it means to you.

And that's just a bonus from you to us.

If you want to give us a little bit of a gift, that would be great.

The other thing that I'll just say before we wrap up is that, you know, we have done so many episodes this year on a wide variety of topics.

We've done episodes on sobriety, on gender roles in the household, on things we learned in therapy, so many different things, eating disorders.

If you listen to an episode and you hear something that says, oh, this reminds me of my friend.

I wonder if she needs to hear this.

Just send that episode to that friend.

Maybe they need that that day.

Maybe that's the universe giving them a little nudge in the right direction.

Send it to the friend.

And hopefully that also helps expand the show.

We love you.

Thank you so much.

Thank you for listening to our show.

And we will see you next week.

And as always, please be kind to yourself.
