In this episode, I share about how my comedy journey got started and the crazy circumstances surrounding my first big stage open mic at the Laugh Factory in Hollywood, California.
I talk openly how comedy has taught me that I can do challenging things in my life. Comedy has brought great joy into my world. It has been cathartic, and it has offered me the gift of connection with myself and those that I’ve been able to engage and share laughs with.
I speak about the nerves I experience on stage, the fears, the self-consciousness, and the mostly negative inner monologue that I encounter every single time I perform.
I close out the conversation by talking about how I benefit from doing stand-up and the impact it has on me. It offers me a channel to amuse myself, and I get tremendous satisfaction from seeing others smile and enjoy themselves, laugh, and be able to forget about life for awhile.
