Welcome back to the table! Back to Daggerheart, Tori went into a deep dive for the rules/mechanics. Daggerheart is it’s own system and it’s mechanics reflect that. It is NOT a D&D clone. This system takes a lot from other games and takes them and twist into it’s own. Malcom brings in the fact that the resources has some similarities with VTM and Shadowrun. The duality dice brings a new resource into the game with hope and fear. Combat gets into unknown territory with the drop of initiative rolls. The spotlight is another one of those branches off from D&D. This is not a math heavy game. Hope and fear are an interesting twist to give the players agency as well as the GM. Malcolm eventually brings up that those hope and fear almost mimics THAC0. All and all, this seems like a good game to play (wait for the playtest) as a choice to play. I doubt that we will give up our D&D but this seems like a good alternative to play as well.
