Deepesh Patel

Deepesh Patel is Managing Director and Editor-in-Chief at Trade Treasury Payments (TTP).


Deepesh regularly chairs and speaks at international industry events held by the IFC, EBRD, IMN, WTO, Financial Times and Economist Impact, as well as industry associations including ICC, FCI, ITFA, ICISA and BAFT.


Deepesh is the host of the ‘Trade Treasury Payments’ podcast and TV show. He is co-author of ‘Blockchain for Trade: A Reality Check’ with the ICC and the WTO, alongside other industry research.


Deepesh is Chair of Governors and co-opted LA Governor of the Wyvern Federation, which has responsibility for five primary schools in South London.

Carter Hoffman

Carter Hoffman is Trade & Technology Editor at Trade Finance Global, focusing on the impact of macroeconomic trends and emerging technologies on international trade.


He holds international business and science degrees from the European Business School in Germany as well as Brock University and Queen’s University in Canada where he served as the director of operations and finance for the student executive council and as an operations associate for the Queen’s University Alternative Asset Fund. Carter’s work has been featured in publications and articles supported by the SME Finance Forum, managed by the International Finance Corporation, World Trade Organization, and International Chamber of Commerce.

Eleanor Hill is a respected editorial leader and passionate advocate for the treasury profession. Formerly Editor-in-Chief at TMI (2018–2024), she transformed the brand into a digital-first platform and launched the Treasury4Good ESG initiative. With a strong focus on innovation, diversity, and inclusion, Eleanor has long championed the evolving role of the treasurer. Her earlier work at Treasury Today included leading editorial strategy, launching a DEI campaign, and authoring key industry guidebooks. As a freelance storyteller since 2012, she continues to craft content for global banks and vendors. Eleanor is widely recognised for her expertise in ESG and treasury trends.

Ara Makaryan

Ara Makaryan is a seasoned banking professional with over a decade of experience in corporate finance, project financing, and international development cooperation.


He graduated from the Armenian State University of Economics in 2011 with a degree in Marketing and Business Organization and later earned a specialization in Global Finance from the Russian Academy of Public Administration in 2017.


Ara began his career at ProCredit Bank in 2012 and later led investor relations at Capital Locus.

 
Since 2017, he has held several leadership roles at ARMSWISSBANK, including Head of Project Financing, Deputy Director of the Lending Department, and currently serves as DEPUTY CEO, Director of the Business Development Department.


He has participated in numerous international trainings and has extensive experience working with global financial institutions such as the EBRD, ADB, EDB, KfW, and the Green Climate Fund.

Deepa Sinha

Deepa Sinha, the VP for Payments and Financial Crime at BAFT (Bankers Association for Finance and Trade), based out of Washington, D.C., leads the association’s payments, cash management and financial crime-focused policy initiatives, as well as supports its related councils and committees.
Deepa works to advance the goals of the payments, cash management and financial crimes mitigation industry through standardisation, defining best practices and developing usable industry data. She is also responsible for formulating policy recommendations and educating industry stakeholders including practitioners, regulators, policymakers and the broader business community.

Elizabeth Rosenberg

Elizabeth Rosenberg leads public policy and emerging risk work related to financial crimes and economic sanctions for Bank of America. She is responsible for industry and policymaker engagement related to illicit finance, and engagement in various Public Policy Partnerships. She also coordinates the Bank’s global team that oversees financial threat assessment and strategy for emerging illicit finance risks. Previously, Rosenberg served as the Assistant Secretary for Terrorist Financing and Financial Crimes at the U.S. Department of the Treasury where she led anti-money laundering policy, counter-terrorist financing and -proliferation financing efforts, and the use of sanctions to advance U.S. national security.

Gregory Sampson is a seasoned expert in international trade, digital innovation, and sustainable development, with over 15 years of experience supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to compete and thrive in global markets.


Since 2015, Gregory has served as a Solutions Architect at the International Trade Centre (ITC) under the Trade for Sustainable Development Programme. In this role, he leads the design and deployment of digital solutions that empower SMEs through data—from traceability systems and sustainability self-assessments to platforms that enable compliance with complex regulatory frameworks such as the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR).

Irene Port

Irene Port began her career with an apprenticeship at HypoVereinsbank (now UniCredit) in 1986 and became a specialist in foreign trade in Munich in 1989. She moved into trade risk management in 1996 and from 2007 served as Deputy Head of UniCredit’s Group Centre of Competence for Forfaiting Financial Institutions and the secondary market.


Her career includes assignments with UniCredit’s Trade Finance Unit in New York and Singapore, before relocating to Hong Kong in 2011 as Head of Trade Finance and Services for the Asia Pacific Region. In 2015, she returned to Munich as Head of Risk & Portfolio Optimisation, overseeing secondary market trade finance transactions, including insurance, multilateral, and supply chain finance risk participations.


In October 2024, Irene joined Munich Re as a Senior Underwriter, focusing on expanding trade finance solutions for banks across FI and corporate risk.

monetary policy and the Dutch housing market to developments in specific sectors, sustainability and technology.

has implemented with a specific team, obtaining several international recognitions by UNEP-Fi, The Digital Banker and RSE among others.
