Against the Odds – Treating Severe Child Malnutrition
The world is in the midst of the worst food crisis in decades, with 750 million people facing food insecurity, severe hunger, and even famine conditions impacting places across the globe. Nobody is more seriously impacted than children during their early formative years. Alliance to End Hunger president Eric Mitchell guest hosts a discussion with leaders from two organizations facing the issue head on: Navyn Salem, Founder and CEO of Edesia Nutrition and Chris Greene, CEO of Meds & Food for Kids in Haiti. Together, the group will discuss the state of child malnutrition, the proven effectiveness of ready-to-use therapeutic foods (RUTF), and what the future of emergency nutrition interventions does and should look like for our world’s most vulnerable kids.
