🎧 Welcome Back
Hi and welcome back to another episode of Living Fiercely, the podcast that helps you develop a bold mindset, upgrade your energy, and lead your life with purpose and power.
I'm your host, Tiana DeRay, and today’s episode is going to hit home if you’ve ever felt like you're holding yourself back, questioning your instincts, or constantly overthinking every decision.
I don’t blame you — I’ve been there many times.

💥 From Self-Doubt to Fierce Inner Confidence
Today we’re talking about how to shift from self-doubt to unshakable self-trust — and how to build the kind of fierce inner confidence that allows you to act boldly and stand firmly in who you are, even when things feel uncertain.

Self-doubt is one of the most subtle, exhausting forms of self-sabotage.
It’s not always loud — that’s the problem.
Sometimes it shows up as quiet hesitation, over-editing, or constant second-guessing.
It hides behind perfectionism and logic.
And most people don’t even realize how much power they’re giving away to that inner voice of doubt.

🧠 The Cost of Self-Doubt
I know this deeply because I lived it — for years.
I looked confident on the outside, but inside, I was constantly questioning myself.
I doubted my decisions.
I watered down my voice, my opinions… and I looked outside of myself for reassurance, constantly.
It wasn’t until I shifted from performing confidence to embodying real self-trust that everything started to change.

✨ What Is Self-Doubt and Why It Lingers
Self-doubt isn’t a personality trait — it’s a conditioned response.
It usually stems from past experiences:

  • Being judged, dismissed, or criticized
  • Failing at something that mattered
  • Growing up in environments that didn’t support critical thinking or making mistakes

Your brain learned:
“Don’t trust yourself. Play it safe.”
But that doesn’t keep you safe — it keeps you stuck.

Self-doubt thrives when you:

  • Constantly compare yourself to others
  • Fear making mistakes
  • Rely too much on external validation
  • Over-consume information and under-act on your own wisdom

⚡ Confidence = Action in Uncertainty
Confidence doesn’t come from knowing everything.
It comes from acting, even when you don’t.
It comes from deciding to trust yourself anyway.

🧱 How Self-Trust Changes Everything
Self-trust is the foundation of lasting confidence.
It’s not loud, performative, or about proving anything to anyone.
It’s about knowing who you are — and backing yourself, no matter what.

When you trust yourself:

  • You stop over-explaining
  • You stop asking 17 people before making a decision
  • You take the leap — even if you don’t have it all figured out
  • You handle setbacks without crumbling

And the energy you give off?
It’s unshakable.
People can feel it.
Opportunities respond to it.
Your world starts to expand around it.

🛠️ Real Tools to Move from Self-Doubt to Self-Trust

1. Clean Up Your Inner Language
Your words shape your identity.
Start paying attention to how you talk to yourself.
Change:
“I’m not good at this” → “I’m learning how to do this better”
“I always mess this up” → “I’m improving every time I show up”

Every word either reinforces doubt or reinforces power. Choose wisely.

2. Stop Asking for Permission
The more you outsource decisions, the more you weaken your intuition.
Start small.
Make everyday decisions without asking anyone else.
Self-trust is a muscle — and it grows with use.
Confidence comes from action and evidence. Start proving to yourself that you can be trusted.

3. Create a Trust-Driven Morning Practice
Mornings are powerful for reprogramming your mind.
Start with 3 affirmations:

  • “I trust myself to make aligned decisions.”
  • “My instincts are strong and reliable.”
  • “I’ve handled everything before — I can handle this too.”

Say them while walking, moving, or breathing. Let them land in your nervous system.

4. Track Courage — Not Just Results
Don’t only celebrate what worked.
Celebrate the fact that you showed up.
Did you speak up today? Post the thing even if it wasn’t perfect? Ask for something scary?
Track the courage. That’s what builds real confidence.

🔁 Final Thoughts
Here’s the truth:
You already know.
You just need to start trusting that.
Self-trust doesn’t mean you won’t feel fear.
It means you’re willing to take action despite the fear.
It means showing up, deciding, and daring — even when you don’t have it all figured out yet.

You don’t need to become fearless.
You just need to stop questioning the step you want to take.
And it doesn’t happen overnight…
But it does happen a lot faster when you start acting like someone who trusts themselves — even before you fully feel it.

🎯 Let This Lead to Action
If this episode gave you even one insight, let it lead to action.
What’s one thing you’ve been overthinking that you can just decide on today?

Trust yourself.
Move with it.
