The Adaptive Athlete Podcast
The Adaptive Athlete Podcast is dedicated to sharing the stories of athletes in the Crossfit space and beyond who have pushed past the limits doctors or others gave them.
In these conversations, you'll hear stories of resiliency, adaptation, grit, and determination. You'll also hear about the ways the adaptive space is growing.
Whether you are an adaptive athlete, a coach, or you know someone who would benefit from adaptive athletics and adaptive fitness, this podcast is the place to hear stories and build connections.
New episodes drop every Tuesday.

You're Capable—Even If You Don't Know It Yet (Feat. Kristee Irby)
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
Mat Hotho sits down with Kristee Irby, a Houston-based adaptive CrossFit athlete competing with a left limb difference.
Kristee didn't even know adaptive CrossFit existed when she first walked into her gym, Bellhouse CrossFit. She stumbled into the Open, found herself on a leaderboard, and had to decide: was she actually going to do this? She did. What followed was double sessions, a self-built spreadsheet of past semifinal workouts, and a velcro ankle strap from Amazon turned into a rowing attachment.
This conversation covers her work ethic, what it meant to finally see other athletes who looked like her, and why she thinks the best thing she can tell a younger version of herself is simply: you're capable.
