An accomplished and practicing physician, Dr. Jha is recognized globally as a trusted expert on major issues impacting public health, and a catalyst for new thinking and approaches. A long-time leader on pandemic preparedness and response, from directing groundbreaking research on Ebola to serving on the frontlines of the COVID-19 response, he has led national and international analysis of key issues and advised local and federal policy makers around the world.

Dr. Astro Teller is the co-founder and Captain of Moonshots (CEO) of X, Alphabet’s moonshot factory. X creates and launches breakthrough technologies to help solve some of the world’s hardest problems. While at X, Astro oversaw the creation of moonshots that became Alphabet companies, independent companies, and key parts of Google. He currently serves on the boards of Wing, Intrinsic, and on the advisory board of Sandbox AQ.

Bernadette Woods Placky is chief meteorologist and vice president for engagement at Climate Central. There, she also directs the Climate Matters program, helping the public understand the importance of climate-change science, impacts, and solutions. Placky develops partnerships with the media, nonprofits, and academic institutions; leads a team that creates weekly, local data and other reporting resources; and serves as an expert on the links between climate change and weather. Prior to this, she was a meteorologist at CBS News in Baltimore, where she won an Emmy for Best Weathercaster. Placky previously was a TV meteorologist in Lexington, Kentucky, and Fayetteville, Arkansas. A science adviser for C-Change Conversations, she is an elected member of the National Academy Board of Atmospheric Science and Climate. 

Bill Nye, also known as "Bill Nye the Science Guy", is an American science educator, engineer, comedian, author, and television personality.

Born in 1955 in Washington, D.C., Nye earned a mechanical engineering degree from Cornell University in 1977. After a career as an engineer at Boeing, he transitioned into comedy and acting, eventually leading to his popular children's science show "Bill Nye the Science Guy", which aired from 1993 to 1998. Nye's show aimed to make science accessible and fun for children, earning him seven Emmy Awards.

Since "Bill Nye the Science Guy", he has hosted other science-related shows and specials, including "The Eyes of Nye" and "Bill Nye Saves the World". He's also authored several science books for both children and adults and is known for his advocacy for science education and critical thinking. Nye is currently the CEO of The Planetary Society, promoting space exploration and scientific discovery.

Dana R. Fisher is a dynamic speaker and author who writes about activism, democracy and climate policy. Her most recent book, Saving Ourselves: from Climate Shocks to Climate Action was published in 2024 by Columbia University Press.  She is the Director of the Center for Environment, Community, & Equity (CECE) and a Professor in the School of International Service at American University.  Her current projects include evaluating the ways that nationally coordinated service corps programs are expanding their climate-related work and the effects of all sorts of activism, engagement, and protest.  Fisher is a Nonresident Senior Fellow with the Governance Studies program at The Brookings Institution and the chair of the Political Sociology section of the American Sociological Association. 

Ebony is a trailblazing leader and advocate, driving impactful change in environmental justice and sustainability. She is the former Executive Director of Greenpeace USA.

Dr. Elizabeth Gray serves as Audubon’s Chief Executive Officer, leading the organization toward its vision of a future where birds thrive. A champion of science-based conservation and a renowned expert in global conservation and climate change, she joined Audubon in March 2021 as President and Chief Conservation Officer and was named CEO later that year—the first woman since Audubon’s founding in 1905 to hold the role. She leads more than 800 staff working across the Americas to alter the course of climate change and habitat loss. Since her arrival, she has led a landmark $826 million campaign, the groundbreaking release of the Migratory Bird Explorer, and the unifying Flight Plan strategy, reinforcing Audubon’s commitment to hemispheric conservation through the power of birds. 

The first White House National Climate Advisor and former U.S. EPA Administrator, Gina McCarthy is one of the nation’s most respected voices on climate change, the environment, and public health. As head of the Climate Policy Office under President Biden, McCarthy’s leadership led to the most aggressive action on climate in U.S. history, creating new jobs and unprecedented clean energy innovation and investments across the country. Her commitment to bold action across the Biden administration, supported by the climate and clean energy provisions in the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and the Inflation Reduction Act, restored U.S. climate leadership on a global stage and put a new U.S. national target to cut greenhouse gas emissions by 50-52 percent below 2005 levels by 2030 within reach.

Dr. Lubchenco is a world-renowned environmental scientist with deep experience in science, academia, and government. She is a champion of science, the stronger engagement of scientists with society, and finding durable solutions to environmental challenges. She served as Under Secretary of Commerce for Oceans and Atmosphere and the Administrator of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration from 2009-2013. She was an inaugural member of President Obama's “Science Dream Team".  From 2014 to 2016 she served as the first U.S. Science Envoy for the Ocean. She is a marine ecologist and environmental scientist, with expertise in the ocean, climate change, and interactions between the environment and human well-being. To introduce her to his Senate colleagues for her confirmation hearing, Senator Ron Wyden called Lubchenco ‘the bionic woman of good science.’ ​

Julie Chávez Rodriguez is an American political consultant who served as campaign manager for Vice President Kamala Harris's 2024 presidential campaign, transitioning to that role from President Joe Biden's 2024 re-election campaign. The granddaughter of legendary labor leader and civil rights activist César Chávez, she was raised on the front lines of activism, participating in picket lines as a child and was even arrested at age 9 for taking part in a protest

Katharine Hayhoe is an atmospheric scientist whose research focuses on understanding the impacts of climate change on people and the planet. She is the Chief Scientist for The Nature Conservancy where she leads and coordinates the organization's scientific efforts.

Kathi is one of the leading patent and intellectual property (IP) litigators and Federal Circuit advocates in the U.S. TechCrunch recognized her as one of the “remarkable women who’ve contributed to the AI revolution,” and Forbes recognized her as one of the top 50 women in innovation. Former Under Secretary of Commerce for IP and Director of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), Kathi is one of the most influential people in AI and IP in the world and is a ChIPs Hall of Fame recipient. Kathi recently returned to Winston & Strawn’s Washington, D.C. and Silicon Valley offices and is a member of the firm’s Executive Committee.

On 1 January 2025, Ms. Leticia Reis de Carvalho assumed office as the fourth Secretary-General of the International Seabed Authority (ISA), following her election on 2 August 2024. Her appointment marks a new chapter in the ISA’s leadership, bringing with it decades of experience in global environmental governance, multilateral negotiations and regulatory innovation.

A seasoned United Nations diplomat, Ms. Carvalho previously served as Special Adviser to the Executive Director of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) on freshwater ecosystems. Prior to that role, she led the UNEP Marine and Freshwater Branch, where she championed sustainable marine resource management and promoted the blue economy on a global scale.

Dr. Nikki Romanik is a distinguished public health leader who most recently served as the Special Assistant to the President, Deputy Director, and Chief of Staff for the Office of Pandemic Preparedness and Response Policy (OPPR) at the White House. In this role, she led the recruitment and establishment of the inaugural office, driving key initiatives to enhance national preparedness and response to outbreaks, pandemics, and other biological threats.

Sherri W. Goodman is a former Deputy Under Secretary of Defense. She is credited with educating a generation of U.S. military and government officials on the nexus between climate change and national security.

Sylvia Earle is President and Chairman of Mission Blue / The Sylvia Earle Alliance. She is a National Geographic Society Explorer in Residence, and is called Her Deepness by the New Yorker and the New York Times, Living Legend by the Library of Congress, and first Hero for the Planet by Time Magazine. She is an oceanographer, explorer, author and lecturer with experience as a field research scientist, government official, and director for several corporate and non-profit organizations.
