Hi, friend. I am Amy Charbonneau. Welcome back to Department 88, a space for Christian women who are ready to rise, heal and walk in the fullness of God in the fullness of who God created them to be. Around here we talk about renewing the mind, healing from past wounds, and stepping boldly into your God given purpose and destiny. If you have been feeling stuck, stirred, or just plain spiritually hungry, I would love to invite you to take my spiritual season's quiz. In under a minute, you'll discover the season you're in and get your next steps, plus a custom video series I have created just for you. You can take the quiz at the link in the description below, and I'll be walking with you every step of the way. So last week we started taking a step back to look at the big picture. I introduced the Spiritual Seasons quiz and today we will be reviewing one of those seasons because when you know your season, you can stop striving and start cooperating or partnering with God's timing and plan. So let's dive in. If you have a journal, grab it so you can take some notes and especially write down any prompts that we're going to share. Okay. First season is called a season of healing. This is for those who feel like maybe life has knocked you down. Maybe you feel like something broke on the inside. You're not sure how to move forward after the pain you've endured. I want you to know you're not alone. God sees you. He is near to the brokenhearted, his word says. And he wants to bring healing to the deep places of your soul. Today, I want to share parts of my own journey of inner healing and how God met me in my pain, and why this season of healing can become the most powerful turning point in your life. We'll talk about how to take thoughts captive, renew the mind, and begin to see yourself the way God sees you. I want to go back to a time when I had come to the end of myself. These are not fun times, if we're honest, okay? Nobody really wants to talk about the emotional pain that we carried and how we ended up at a breaking point. Okay, but that was me. I had a lot of emotional pain, and I had reached a breaking point, and I knew I needed outside help. So I had a friend in a small group that recommended a spirit filled Christian counselor who did eMDR therapy, and I began to truly understand what it meant to take my thoughts captive. My time with her was powerful, okay. It set me on a journey of understanding the power of the mind and how Jesus redeems the past. Okay. It was not easy. I would come home from those meetings exhausted emotionally and mentally. I had to ask for a lot of grace from my husband as I walked through, just letting the pain come out and grieving some things all over again. You know, but also just letting it come up and come out so that I could receive my healing. It was it was a step by step painful process, but it was so freeing. I started to receive healing from past hurts. And most importantly, I started hearing Jesus in those broken places. He wasn't condemning me. He was with me, healing me, speaking truth over the lies that I believed because of those things. That journey is what inspired me to become a neuro coach, because I wish I had someone walking with me during those moments. Someone to say you're not crazy. You're healing. One of the most powerful truths that I learned in my healing season is that we cannot change what we do not first become aware of. And this is important because it does not matter how much you know, it matters what you believe. And really, this is the gospel. Like Jesus has already dealt with all of the sin of everyone for all time. It boils down to what do you believe? And as a Christian, if we believe that God is our father and Jesus is our Redeemer, well, what does that look like in our daily journey? Okay, Jesus, God exists outside of time and you can learn a lot about this in Troy Brewer's book, Redeeming Your Timeline. It's an extraordinary book and really helpful. He breaks it down. What does it mean to to start thinking about God is not confined to time. He created it, so he's outside of it. We experience time in the natural world. So how we live and move in the natural world often becomes our framework of understanding God. But that's just very limited. Okay, God exists outside of time, so we have to go inside. And when Jesus taught things like the kingdom of heaven is at hand, the kingdom of God is in the inside. It's in your mind and it's in your heart. So when these things are out of sync, we don't live from represent as an ambassador the kingdom of heaven in the earth. Okay. That's probably something we'll go into in another podcast. So much of our inner world is formed, um, through belief. Okay. And so the subconscious mind has been tracking all of your experiences, the thoughts that you repeat, how you feel about those thoughts, and it formed beliefs. Okay. Those beliefs often stem from lies spoken over us by others, by culture, or by your own inner critic. This is why Scripture tells us in second Corinthians ten five. We capture, like prisoners of war every thought and insist that it bow in obedience to Jesus. Okay, healing happens when we begin to notice the thoughts and patterns keeping us stuck, and we replace them with God's truth. And yes, sometimes this is more easier said than done. I always tell my clients your mind was designed to be renewed. It's malleable. You don't have to be stuck forever. This is the beauty of it. God has given us the power to transform the way we think. And this is from Romans 12. So let me ask you this. What thoughts are you believing that God never said about you? Write that down in your journal. It can be a question you ask God. Lord, what thoughts am I believing that you never said about me. Now, this could be challenging. If you have a belief that God is angry with you. Okay? God is not angry with people. He's not up there judging us right now. We are in a season of grace. Okay? There's no judgment from God in the earth until Jesus comes again in the millennial reign and the great White judgment. All right. The blood of Jesus has already paid the penalty for sin for everyone past, present, and future. God is not angry with people. He loves us. This is why he sent Jesus. John 316 is because of love that he sent Jesus to redeem. Now it's up to us. What do we believe? Do we believe he's a good, loving father? You know, and maybe your stories like mine and you didn't know how to receive the love of God, and you really didn't know how to look at God as a good father. Maybe you didn't have a good father. Maybe you don't have an example of what a good father looks like. Maybe people told you that you're bad all the time. And so you think that God thinks that, but it's not true. So really, get quiet with the Lord. God, what am I believing is true about me? That you never said okay, and then this is an invitation to begin again. If you feel like you're in the healing season, it's not because God is punishing you. It's because he is restoring you. He's rebuilding the foundation of your life so that what comes next is unshakable. You are not broken beyond repair. You are being made new. Isaiah 61 three says, he gives us beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise for the spirit of despair or heaviness. I love this. Um, there's this a little. This is a little rabbit trail, but a side story about the poppy seed. A poppy seed can go into the ground and lay dormant for 40 years. Okay. It needs to have, like, fire or drought. It needs to go through something extreme before it cracks the shell of that seed so that the poppy can grow. So when we hear he makes beauty from ashes, I think about places like California when they've had wildfires the next spring. Those fields and hillsides are full of poppies. And I think, wow, Lord, you remind us, even in something as tragic as a wildfire, that there's beauty for ashes, because those poppies come forth as a reminder that he brings forth beauty from devastation. So no matter what the level of devastation you think you've had in your life, you've experienced that pain that you carry. He will turn it into something beautiful beyond your wildest dreams. You were never meant to carry the wounds of your past into your future. This is why I created a three part video series for each of the seasons. Actually, you know, but in the healing one, it's important that you know that you're not alone. Okay? You know, there has to be more, and you're ready to take brave steps forward into your healing. Um, and so it may be healing is not your season. That's okay. You're going to take the spiritual season's quiz and it's going to highlight the season you're in. And you might find that there's a few different ones that you kind of connect with. But there most likely will be one dominant season. And that would just be the first season that you begin, um, exploring with the Lord. And so we will help you identify the season that you're in and what God might be doing in your heart. Okay, so that link is in the description below. So you don't have to do this alone. Friend. You were made for freedom. So if this episode speaks to your heart, please share it with a friend who might also be in a healing season. Um, so take the quiz below today. At some point today, um, healing is not the end of your story. It's the beginning of your transformation, and I want to walk that journey with you. So before you go, take the spiritual season's quiz at the link in the description below. It's your next step to understanding the season you're in, whether that's healing, boldness, intimacy, overflow or awakening and how to walk through it with purpose and grace. So when you take that, you should get an email with a three part video series and an invitation to join me in my inner healing and neuro coaching program. If you're longing to get free from what's been holding you back and finally live with joy and confidence, I would be honored to assist you. This journey is sacred and you do not have to walk it alone. So whether you're healing, rising in boldness, cultivating intimacy, living an overflow, or waking up to what is next, God is with you. Until next time, friend. I'm Amy Charbonneau and this is Department 88.
