You're going to discover the season you're in and get your next steps, plus a custom three part video series tailored just to the season you're in. You can take the quiz at the link in the description box below. Okay, today's episode is the awakening season when your spirit says there must be more. So I am Amy Charbonneau. Today's episode title made your head perk up a little bit. You're probably in what I call the awakening season. This is the season where you start to feel it. That tug on your heart, that holy discontent, the whisper deep inside that says there must be more. More to faith. More to purpose. More to you. More freedom. And if you feel like something is stirring but you're not quite sure what to do about it, this episode is for you. Today we're going to talk about what it means to awaken spiritually, how to respond when your soul starts asking bigger questions, and how to partner with God to discover your next step. I'm also going to share some journaling prompts and spiritual reflection questions. So grab your journal and a pen and get ready to lean into this season with confidence and grace. The awakening season often begins quietly. You might be doing life as usual, and then suddenly something shifts. You start questioning things that didn't bother you before. You sense a restlessness in your soul. And it's not anxiety, it's anticipation. And now when I say soul, I mean your mind. Well. And emotions. Okay. The soul, like we are three parts. We have a spirit. That's the eternal part of us that is already one. With God. We have a soul that's the realm of our mind, our will and our emotions. And we have a body. Okay? So your soul, your mind, will and emotions might be feeling restlessness or anticipation. Okay. Scripture shows us that awakening is often the first step to break through. In Romans 13 I love this. To live like this is all the more urgent, for time is running out and you know it is a strategic hour in human history to awaken, for salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. When your spirit starts to awaken, you begin to hunger for real connection with God. You want more than surface level faith. You want intimacy, clarity, direction. And you may not know exactly what God is doing yet, but you sense that he's up to something and he is. This is a time to get curious, to ask questions, and to listen deeply. I call it a holy curiosity. Think about a toddler. Um, you know when when your kids are little and they're around three years old and everything's y y y y, you know, it can feel kind of annoying because you get tired of answering all the questions. But God isn't like that. He loves our questions. And you can ask him why a thousand times, a million times. And he will never get frustrated with your questions. Okay? And God awakens desire in us to deepen our relational connection with him. That means your longing is not a problem, okay? It's a gift. It's an invitation. In fact, spiritual awakening begins with being willing to pause and notice, to say, God, I feel something stirring. What are you trying to show me? In Psalm 27. Verse eight captures this beautifully. Lord, when you said to me, seek my face, my inner being responded. I'm seeking your face with all my heart. Okay. The Lord says, seek my face. The inner being is the place of the soul, your mind, your will, your emotions. I'm seeking your face with all my heart. You get engaged in your thoughts and your feelings, okay? And in your will you determine to do it. So if you're in this season, I'm going to encourage you to journal every day to sit with your Bible, not just to read or study it, but to encounter it. Okay. And this means you sit with intentionality and it maybe it begins with opening your Bible, putting it in your lap, under your hands. Holy spirit, help me encounter the Living Word today and then begin to read. Close your eyes. God, what do you want me to get out of this reading? There is a powerful practice called lectio divina. And it's a it's a practice of rereading the same little set of verses like four times. So you prayerfully posture your heart, you read it, and then you listen. God, what do you want to say? Then you read it again. God, what else do you want to reveal to me? You read it again. God. What else? Take me deeper. What does this mean? Read it again. God, how do I apply this in my life? Like it's intentionality with the Word of God. It's living and active. It's your guide to life, like the Bible is this mystery, but it's also this powerful opportunity. So let yourself feel the longing for more, okay? Because God is beckoning you into it. It's an invitation and it's it's fantastic. So here's a few journaling prompts, and you can write them on a piece of paper and come back to them later. But be intentional and take the time to really pursue the Lord in this way. So ask God this question God, what are you awakening in me right now? So if you feel like something's stirring, you're you're unsettled, discontent. You're not sure why. Start with this? God, what are you awakening in me right now? Okay. Question number two. God, where have I been? Spiritually asleep or distracted? And there's no condemnation in this question, friend. Everyone gets distracted at some point. Okay? We have to learn to persevere and command our body, to command our soul to be diligent. Okay? We we our spirit is in charge. We have this authority. We have this power to say no. Settle down. It's time to focus. We're going to get serious. We're going to focus and pay attention. We're going to be a learner, you know? And we get to tell our body no mind. Calm down. Your to do list will be there when we're finished. Right now we're talking to God. You know, you get to talk to yourself. Okay, so where have I been? Spiritually asleep or distracted? This next question. What is one brave question that I need to ask you today? Okay, there's probably something inside of you that you've wanted to ask God, but you've been held back for some reason. Today is your day to say Holy Spirit. What's one brave question I need to ask you today? And it's okay to not have all the answers. The awakening season is about noticing, not mastery. Okay? We just simply say yes to the invitation. So when God begins to stir your heart, he's preparing you for something new. But new beginnings always feel uncomfortable. You might feel unsure, unqualified, or overwhelmed. And that's okay, because awakening does not require perfection. It only requires a willing heart. In Psalm 34 five says, gaze upon him, enjoying your life with his and joy will come. Your faces will glisten with glory. You'll never wear shame again, okay? Joy will come when we gaze upon him and we join our life to his. Your face will shine with glory. People are going to say what's different about you. They're going to see it in your eyes, and they're going to ask. And you're going to have opportunities to share the wonder of God. He wants to awaken joy inside of you. He wants to stir up purpose and vision. He wants to do it with you. Okay? Not apart from you. He's not standing somewhere far off in the corner of the room. He's right next to you. He's inviting you to lean in. Ask questions. Seek his presence and say yes to your personal awakening. So let me ask you, what is your soul saying yes to today? And I and when you write this one down, think what is my mind saying yes to today? What are my emotions saying yes to today? What is my will saying yes to today? Because we are powerful, we get to choose. Okay? We have the freedom to choose. Next question. Where do you sense God is nudging you into new territory? New things are intimidating, I get it. There are times I've gone kicking and screaming. I don't want to go there, you know? Um, but God will nudge, and he doesn't force. He'll nudge, and then he'll wait for us, you know, like, wait for us to finish throwing our fit sometimes, you know? But where do you sense he's nudging you that maybe you've been resisting? Okay, that's a great place to explore. And, uh. Third, what dream or desire have you buried because it felt too risky or too holy? Okay. Too much risk that's going to destroy me or too holy? I'm not enough. I'm not good enough for that. I don't know enough for that. I'm not spiritual enough for that. There's a dream or desire that you buried because it felt too risky or too holy. And maybe God is awakening that again. Okay. Because it's your season to shine. So before you go today, be sure to write down all those prompts. Listen to this again if you need to. Um, and then go through. Intentionally. Today. Tomorrow, over the next few days, ask God to speak to you about these questions and write down what he says. Don't forget to take the spiritual season's quiz at the link in the description below. This is your next step to understanding the season you're in.
