Discovering Grok's Bizarre New Feature
Speaker 1So I've been gone this week and so I didn't really hear anything about the new Grok stuff until you just told to me before and then I didn't want to see any of it before, like we just recorded, so we can kind of see a natural reaction. It's crazy, but you sent me a video and just the thumbnail itself just looks weird. It's like an anime girl, yep, like a goth anime girl, right? So we'll take a look.

Speaker 3This has been all over um while you've been gone, it's been all over. People have been like just going nuts over it, like mostly negative really you hear mostly negative comments about it and stuff.
Speaker 2So well, all right, let's see it okay yo just kicking back in my cute black dress ready to make this morning vibe. Oops, I mean energy. Okay, this is so weird.
Speaker 1I mean I'm just gonna go to work.
Speaker 2That's pretty much it why are you? Turning around? Also, is that the only outfit you have, or can you change outfits?
Speaker 1This dress on her is ridiculous, Like it's.
Speaker 2What playful and nah, this isn't my only look. I can switch it up, dress up, undress, whatever mood we're feeling gotta save style. You'd love to see me in, babe. Hey, what's up what in the?
Speaker 3that is crazy, huh.
Questioning the Purpose and Ethics
Speaker 1So it's not even like. It's just an ai girlfriend, is that's like the idea of it? Yeah, so it's not. It's not even supposed to be helpful, really, anyway well.
Speaker 3So I don't know, I don't know, like that's something we might have to test out and see if, like, it actually is going to be like I can't see it like. First of all, I wouldn't use this over like chat. Gpt's voice mode right gemini's voice mode like, use those lessons like time-wise.
Speaker 1you're wasting time, yeah.
Speaker 3Yeah, it's. It seems like it certainly is not the intent to be used in very useful ways. It seems to be more of like yeah, ai, girlfriend, or something like that.
Speaker 1There's not a lot of things that like this would be useful for I don't think. I think like one person that probably could have used this was that guy from the Coldplay concert, the CEO of a strong. He should have used this instead of I don't know.
Speaker 3you know our manager, it's definitely a better alternative to like actually acting out on that. But, like think about this though. Like this is like very disturbing. Yeah, but just like anything, there's shock factor here. Right, right, Over time it will become more normalized, it just will. Yeah, we've already seen people. I don't know if you've heard the news stories about people that want to marry their AI girlfriends.
Speaker 1Yeah, it's weird. Well, there's a movie about this a long time ago, well, not long. It's called Her, with Joaquin Phoenix.
Speaker 3I haven't seen it.
Marketing Stunt or Genuine Product?
Speaker 1And it's him talking to siri, so it was before any of this. It was just him talking to siri and he falls in love with his phone. That's the entire plot of the movie and now it's like even more realistic. I guess it's like now you can actually see it because there's an animated girl that's super scandalous that just said she would undress or change dress up or dress down, it's just like what are we doing?
Speaker 2it's how is?
Speaker 1this. This isn't going to help any guy be productive in society or be a better person.
Speaker 3Like this is just going to make it worse I think I saw a video on it that's like oh, it's supposed to be used to like practice talking to girls, just, but I'm like I think that's a stretch, yeah well, I saw this.
Speaker 1I saw um one of the podcasters I listened to, chris williamson from modern wisdom. He was talking about how, like one of the things that actually would be beneficial in like a vr setting is like a dating slash talking sort of like uh vr practice.
Speaker 1So you would literally be in a vr and you'd be in a bar and like you'd have levels up of like how it would make it so you could get used to talking to girls or get used to talking to like business situations and go through it and you could like level up and it'd become harder and harder to convince the person like to like go out with you or just have a conversation with you or whatever, and he's like that actually could see how, like, some people are very socially scared of situations like that and so this could actually, that could actually help, right, but this wouldn't help with that at all no you're literally talking to a like an animated girl that you know is fake and and it's very, it seems very easy to yeah, it's very easy, it easy. It's just I don't know. This seems like a waste of.
Speaker 3I think it's a publicity stunt. Honestly, I think it's a publicity stunt to promote Grok in general.
Speaker 1Because a lot of people don't know about Grok.
Speaker 3Because it's not as popular as OpenAI, chatgpt, and I think this is a way to just stir the pot, get people to look at it Because, along with with these ai companions, they released a new version of grok grok 4, I believe yeah so.
Speaker 1So this was almost like a publicity stunt. I just get people talking about grok which I think is smart. Log in we're talking about it to create an account so you can actually test it out, yeah, and see like, well, this is weird, it's kind of one of those things that you're like.
Speaker 3You know, when you see an accent on the side of the road, you like you don't really want to see anything, but you can't help but look like yeah, right you know, I think this is kind of similar to where it's like this is so weird and so bizarre that it's just like it's hard not to talk about it, because it's just it's so cringe worthy you, it is very cringeworthy.
Speaker 1Yeah, I just don't see a benefit of it besides that. So if it's a marketing stunt and they did it, I think that I mean it's smart to talk. We're all talking about it. It's all over now, I guess, but yeah, it's just. I don't see a benefit. There's no benefit business-wise. I really don't think there's a positive benefit in your relationship or in your life at all. I think this is just terrible.
