Hey hey! Welcome back to I Know a Girl, the cozy corner of the internet where we hype each other up, get a little raw and real, and remember, healing is hot. This episode is all about the summer solstice and what we're calling in for the rest of the year. About six months ago or so, we had an episode about the winter solstice. And so this one is gonna be about the summer solstice. So for those of you that don't know, the summer solstice is the longest day of the year because the sun is in the sky for the longest out of the whole year. But it also means it's the shortest night of the year. We're coming into a period where we should be taking advantage of how long the sun is out. We should be getting outside and enjoying nature and everything it has to offer. I like to think of summer and winter solstice as like an important seasonal turning point of the year. So in the winter solstice, I had like 12 intentions, and out of those 12 intentions, I picked one to carry with me through the whole 2026 year. And now that we're at the halfway point, I'm uh using this time to reflect back on that intention. And for those of you that maybe didn't listen to the winter solstice episode, uh, that intention was to let go of perfectionism to embrace authenticity. And I dare say I've been doing a pretty good job at exactly that. I'm not trying to make everything to be so perfectly curated. I'm just letting things be as they are. You know, I'm not trying to control anything but my own happiness and my own thoughts, and things are really working out in my favor the more that I keep my head in a good state. So some think that summer stolsis means the beginning of summer, but in the Chinese calendar, it represents the height of summer. It's like a peak point for energy. So we're at the midway point of growing season for like most farmers, they would say that we're halfway between planting and harvesting. So this is a good point to pause, reflect, recharge, and uh yeah, call into anything that you're you're trying to cultivate for the rest of the year. So I'm gonna give you some five tips to celebrating the summer solstice. Uh, the first one, I want you to honor the sun. I want you to consciously connect with the sun. Whether you're spending a few minutes out in the sunlight, I really want you to just think of yourself as like you're a little solar panel and you need to soak up some vitamin D. Another thing that you can do is charge your crystals or even some water out in the sunlight. Another thing you can do is work with flowers or nature or really whatever is in season for you. Soak up the different colors and variety of plants that are around you. Maybe even bring some cut fresh flowers to your home to remind you to stay present. Or you could do what me and my daughter do, and we create art with our pressed flowers, and it helps us kind of like ground ourselves. Another example you can do to celebrate the winter solstice is get in some fucking water. Soak in some water, whether it's in a pool, a jacuzzi, the lake, a pond, maybe even a riverbed. But in order for anything to grow in life or in nature, you need sunlight, water, nutrients, and oxygen. So think of yourself as a flower and go give yourself some water. You gotta keep your mind present and let any negative thoughts come in and wash away, just like the waves of the ocean. Another thing that you could do is reflect on what's coming into fruition. What seeds have you planted that you're seeing growth from? What seems to no longer serve you anymore? Whether that be literal seeds like that you planted into your garden, or that's just projects, ideas, aspirations, wishes that you have set for 2026 that are growing or stagnant. Ultimately, I just want you to use this time to celebrate any growth that you've had, whether it be small little steps or big giant leaps. But reconnect with yourself, reconnect with nature, and really write down like what you're trying to manifest for the rest of the year. And if you haven't made any manifestations, or now is the time to do it. So for anybody that hasn't started any manifestations, this is the time to tune in, okay? I'm gonna help you out here. When you manifest, you're moving away from the lack and scarcity mindset, and you're like catapulting yourself into this like realm of possibility and abundance. So a lot of manifesting is investing your time and energy back into yourself. When you have good thoughts and good intentions, you live a life full of possibility and abundance. What you focus on will call into your reality. And if you are having a hard time believing any of this, please revert all the way back to episode one and start listening from episode one until now, because I've talked about many, many, many times throughout the last almost year now that I've started this podcast that I have changed my mindset for the better. And nothing but abundance and opportunities has come for me since then. A lot of my manifestation comes from, like what helps me the most with my manifestation is writing things down. It helps me focus in on what I want to achieve. And I think a lot of it is like my checklist is kind of like my roadmap to my manifestations. The more I achieve and check off my checklist, the closer I am to my end goal. So try to think of it as like what you write, you're creating. So don't overwhelm yourself either when you write down these manifestations. I want you to start with like one or two goals at a time. Because otherwise, your energy is gonna get like scattered in so many directions. You're gonna get frustrated, the doubt's gonna creep in, it's gonna make things very hard. So just narrow, narrow down your manifestations to like one or two goals for this next six-month period, okay? And and it's very, very important to remember that you're collaborating with the universe. So you can make these lists and have all these ideas, but you have to do the work to put all these ideas into action in order for these to manifest, okay? The universe conspires with you, but they it the universe won't do the work for you. So there's that. But I want you to start off by journaling or brainstorming all the immediate ideas that flood into your mind when you think of manifesting your dream life, okay? I'm talking, what would you try if money didn't play a role? Do you have any long-term goals or dreams that you want to explore? If so, write them down. If you don't, try to try to think of like a bucket list. What would be on your bucket list? Except with a bucket list, you do all these items like as you're nearing your golden years or you're you're in retirement, right? Well, that's not happening here. These are your golden years right here, right now. Okay. So I just made a post on Instagram and TikTok about what you do frequently becomes your frequency. So we're going to align our actions with the frequency we want to live in. First, we're going to start journaling every day. I know you're probably rolling your eyes at me at this point. However, remember just a couple of minutes ago, I said everything that I rewrite down in my checklist ends up being my roadmap to my manifestations. Okay. So first you're gonna journal every day. And I want you to figure out whether you're gonna journal first thing in the morning to cultivate the day that you're going to have, or are you going to journal at night before bed? Whichever you choose, think of it as like I know I hate saying this word sometimes because it freaks people out. And like, maybe I just need, well, I'm just gonna use the word because if it freaks you out, maybe this isn't meant for you. If if it doesn't freak you out, well then you're obviously in the right spot. But whatever time you you use, think of this journaling as like a ritual. Okay, you're gonna get really creative with it. If you choose morning journaling, maybe you make your morning coffee and you sip it while you journal, grab a cozy blanket to lay over your lap, light some incense. Whatever you choose to do, it's gonna like signal that you're beginning, you're manifesting. And if you've ever manifested anything in the past, I want you to think back to how you felt when you achieved any of those things. And then I want you to try to embody that feeling all over again while you're journaling. Okay, this is something important. I need you to remember that you're gonna let your imagination run wild, okay? Don't give in to any of like any thoughts that are like, yeah, girl, this isn't realistic because you're you're just this isn't gonna help you manifest anything, okay? You're collaborating with the universe and you're you're letting things that are meant to you come to you. So there is nothing too crazy here, all right? Anything is possible. Now, you could do this with every aspect in your life that you want to change, whether it's your home, your work, how do you want to spend your free time? I know now the creative juices are flowing and you're ready to recreate your life. However, you kind of got to slow your role a little and focus on one goal at a time so you don't get too overwhelmed and spiral downward. If you give one your full attention and devotion, there's no reason why it won't succeed, right? And then after you get to a place with that one goal, you can then add another one to your routine and just keep building your dream life off of you know one small step at a time. So write down in your journal or on a piece of paper, wherever, out of all the goals that you've journaled down, which one is the most immediate goal? Okay, write down what steps you need to take to achieve this goal. And I mean, like really break them down into smaller, easier to achieve steps, okay? So, like if starting your own business is like your immediate goal, well then you need to do some research on what some of those smaller steps are. Okay, and while you're writing all of this down, keep remembering that feeling you felt when you achieved previous goals, how it felt when you felt that you were succeeding. Okay, now I want you to write down what success would look like if this goal is met. Okay. This is something that I just started doing, and it's writing down what success will look like when the goal is completed. And it's actually really helpful in like keeping yourself grounded, but yet grateful at the same time, because when the universe provides, we want to be grateful, we want to be appreciative, so then the universe will keep giving us these gifts, keep giving us abundance. Now, after you've done all that, you need to write down ways to keep yourself excited and engaged in case you have some discouraging moments along the way. Usually I'm full of motivation when I start dreaming up these ideas, but then the doubt slowly starts to creep in. So when moments of doubt start to creep in, I need you to write down ways that you're going to keep yourself excited and engaged in case the doubt just becomes a little too unbearable. Because I'm not gonna lie to you, some people experience a little like doubt phase immediately after they think of all these great ideas that they want to manifest. And then like your inner demon makes up a million and one excuses on why you shouldn't or can't do any of those ideas. Okay? So we don't want to waste your motivation. The quicker you write all these things down, and then you go right into action mode of executing these steps, the less time you have to make up excuses and become your own creative block. Look at that list. What's your first small action that you can take to achieve these goals? Is it an email? Is it a phone call? Do you need to do an internet search? Whatever it is, write it down. And then when you're done writing it down, you're gonna go fucking do it. Alright? And then after you get it done and you finish it, check it off. And then look at the next step. Because there's gonna be moments where things get a little difficult, you'll be in your head too much, or even on the brink of quitting. But you need to have a good support system, okay? So in addition to you know the ideas of keeping yourself motivated and encouraged, you also need to have a support system. Who are you going to who is going to be your cheerleader or cheerleaders when you can't be your own? Write down these people's names. And then, if you want, you can maybe even ask them, hey, I'm trying to change my life for the better. Is there any way you could be a safe space for me to land when I need to be reminded of who the fuck I am when I get discouraged? More than likely, they're going to say yes, and they're gonna feel blessed that you even thought of them in a moment like that, okay? And if you have no one to reach out to, send me a fucking message. I'll be there for you. I'll always be there for you. Now, there's gonna be distractions or little things that can give you that dopamine bush, that dopamine boost, and distract you from the whole bigger fit picture, like distract you from any of your manifestations, okay? These could be playing on your phone, this could be, you know, TV shows, video games, household chores, whatever it is. I want you to write down these distractions, and then you're going to schedule when you're going to do these so they don't interfere with your motivation or your goals. I'm not saying that you have to cut cut them out completely, you know, because I feel like we need little small things like that that give us like a dopamine bush. Why do I keep calling it a bush? A dopamine boost to get us through the rest of the day, okay? So whether it's scrolling on your phone or watching a TV show or binging TV shows or playing video games with your friends, or maybe you just have a hard time doing chores and staying motivated with your chores, write these down and schedule when you're going to do these. Okay. You're rebuilding your routine to aid your motivation. So you can make sure you schedule when you want to do each of those because that's a helpful step towards your goal. And forewarning you, sometimes those people you ask to be your sponsor or your support group might not be able to be there for you at a drop of a dime. And you'll need to be reminded of why you started this whole thing to begin with. Okay. You gotta have kind of like a mission, like a mission statement to look back on to keep you motivated to go forward. So your mission statement is gonna be your reasoning, your why behind your intentions. Like when I started the boutique, it was because I wanted to help women feel good and love their bodies. With the podcast, it's I want to make sure no woman feels alone. So, for example, you may want to work from home so you can be home with your kids more. Your mission statement would be I work from home so that I can spend more time with my kids. Now, with everything that I said you aside, this is another important thing, okay? You manifest what you believe, not what you want. So if you're doubtful in the slightest bit, I need you to make sure that you're plucking those limiting beliefs and throwing them away. And then I need you to really, really dig deep and believe that you can do these things that you're setting out to do. You wouldn't have the idea pop into your head if it wasn't meant to happen. Okay, everything happens for a reason. So all these crazy little ideas that you had, they're not crazy. They were messages from your higher self, and now you're gonna fucking do them. Alright? And I'm in your corner, cheering you on. Now, we can get into allies and adversaries in a whole another episode, but just keep in mind that as you try to better yourself and manifest better for yourself, that you'll have to reframe your network of people or change who you call on for help, and you'll figure out very quickly who you need to avoid. But like I said, I will save that all for a whole nother episode if anyone's interested in it. But I am going to get into my little joy of the week, and then our horoscope hype, and then we could get on with our tarot card poll and end this episode for today. Because I don't want to yap your ear too much off. So, my little joy of the week is my husband was able to cut out early from work the other day, and we were able to pretty much enjoy a whole four week or four day weekend together. Just me, him, and the kids. And I have to say, it it was almost like Having a little mini vacation. It was really nice. We didn't have a million phone calls coming in on the business phone because he muted it, and a million of his friends weren't calling all weekend long like they usually do, needing favors or advice or just a chit-chat or anything like that. We were very present, not only with each other, but with our kids too. It was a great time. And although uh we planned a few things and our plans fell through, we kind of just like went with the flow. You know what I mean? We didn't let the the few things that didn't go our way get us down, and we picked ourselves up and moved forward. I mean, not that we needed to pick ourselves up because we were down in the dumps, but like we wanted to go for a bike ride. And so my husband inquired with somebody on Marketplace about some bikes, buying a couple of bikes that they had for sale. And the person was, you know, answering back immediately, saying, Yes, you know, I'm currently not at home. I should be within an hour, and then we can meet up. Well, the hour came and left, and my husband reached out and was like, let me know, you know, when's a good time to come. And the person said, Okay. But then we never heard back from them. So instead of letting the whole bike situation kind of ruin the day and set the day up for misery, I guess. We ended up just turning it around and brainstorming some more ideas. And all in all, like I said, we just had a great, great little stay-at-home mini vacation together. Another little small joy of the week that I have is got a quite a few messages from some people wanting to collab, not only just like with me myself, but they want to collab with the podcast as well. So that's actually really cool. Um, and I'm excited to see where that goes. Uh, I'm also working on a little project. Uh I'm excited to announce here soon. Um, somebody that I've been working with, or somebody that I worked with on the podcast previously, and uh we're gonna collab together again. So I'm really excited for you to see and hear all about that. Oh, and let me to hold on to that whole intention that I set it that I set in the winter about um letting go of perfectionism and embracing authenticity. I went skating this week and I took the kids with me, right? And I was skating for like a good hour and a half, everything was going good, and then out of nowhere, I hit a rock and fucking ate shit in front of not only my kids, but a bunch of kids at the park, and I felt so embarrassing. I felt so embarrassed. As soon as I hit the ground, ooh, all the joy in my body, I feel like left my body, like all the joy that I had in my body just vanished. I was so bummed that I, for lack of better word, just ate shit right on the pavement, right? However, I did try to catch my balance before hitting the ground so that I wouldn't hit the ground so hard. I in fact did not catch my balance at all. However, I did get a moment to brace myself for the fall, and I was able to like tuck my body a little bit so then it wasn't as bad as it could have been. Because I very much could have just ate shit, smacked my head off the pavement, and not be here telling the story. But uh yeah, I kind of tucked when I did. And in a moment that I really probably, to be honest with you, wanted my mommy in the worst way because I felt like a four-year-old little girl who just fell in front of the world. Um, my daughter saw the whole thing and immediately got off the swing, ran over to me and made sure that I was okay. So, although I didn't have my mommy to come check on me, I had my sweet, kind soul of a daughter who ran over and checked up on me. And um, so when I hit the ground, I talked a little and I sat there for what felt like a whole minute, and then I got myself up and started skating around. As I was approaching the, you know, the full lap is when my daughter came over from the swings and said, Mommy, are you okay? And I was like, Yeah. Did you see me eat shit? And she said, Yeah, you hit the ground pretty hard. And I'm like, Yeah, but I'm okay. She looked over my leg because I felt like I had some road rash, and sure enough, my right ass cheek had quite the road rash. That was pretty much the only little like beat-up part that I got. I had like a little scratch on my wrist from where my bracelet dug into the skin, but other than that, that was really all that I that I took was some road rash to the ass cheek. But um, I got home and I was telling my husband about it because he wasn't with us at the moment, and he actually kind of got a little emotional about it because I was telling him about how embarrassed I was, and he was like, Why are you embarrassed? If anything, you taught our moment a real you taught our daughter a moment of not only just bravery, but that you're resilient too. And he said that he was sad that he missed it. Not that he wanted to see me fall, but he was sad to see like the full circle moment of, you know, me being brave and showing Jade how to be resilient and how to pick yourself up and keep going. But yeah, that was my little joy of the week. Not only was I embarrassed, but I guess I was brave. And I showed my daughter that, you know, sometimes we fall, but it's most important that you get back up and keep trying, especially if it's something that you really love. Alright, now that I'm being all sappy, let's uh get into our horoscope hype for this episode. Alright, so starting off with Aries, you are allergic to rules, a reckless texter, impulsive, easily angered, and spontaneous. Taurus, you are treating yourself daily, aesthetically obsessed, unbothered, refuse to be rushed, unreasonably stubborn, and snack motivated. Gemini, you get bored fast, you're expressive, a mastermind in everyone's business, never boring, and iconic. Cancer, you are classy and sassy, angelic, nostalgic, cute but moody, you have expensive taste, and you remember everything. Leo's, you live for drama, very entertaining and overdressed on purpose. Virgos, you are very observant, internally judging, the responsible friend, graceful and one step ahead. Libras, you are low-key dramatic, an indecisive queen, blind to red flags, run from conflict sometimes, but always flirting. Scorpios, you are secretive, you collect screenshots, you have obsessive tendencies, romantic in secret, protective, impossible to fool, and organized chaos. Sagittarius. You say whatever comes to mind. You are addicted to adventure, goofy, independent to the core. You like to tell the craziest stories, could be a little too honest, allergic to boredom, restless, impatient, unpredictable, and sometimes a sarcastic queen. Capricorns. You are calm under pressure, ambitious, you have some perfectionist tendencies, reserved at first, you like to ignore your feelings, calculated, you observe in silence, sometimes have resting bitches, and like to keep control. Aquarius, you're always questioning something, can get quickly bored, have unfiltered opinions, sometimes ahead of everyone, rebellious, intelligent, unintentionally intimidating, and can be socially selective. And last but not least, we have Pisces. You are a pretty princess that imagines entire scenarios. You're secretly tough, you care too much, can be easily distracted, and you like to see the good in everything. All right, so now our tarot card poll of the episode, and then I'll let you guys go. All right, so the universe wants us to call in the page of swords. And the page of swords, the page of swords represents a phase of eager learning and exploration. It signifies the emergence of new ideas and a keen curiosity, coupled with a desire to communicate and discover, reflecting vibrant mental energy and restlessness. So pretty much everything that we've been saying, or that I've been saying, this entire podcast episode. But the sub the summer solstice, it brings an energy of like eager learning and exploration exploration. So yeah, I'm very excited to see what you guys do with yourselves the rest of the year, what intentions you're trying to hold on to and manifest for yourself. Well, for anybody that is trying to manifest anything good in their life from the summer solstice, definitely chime in, my DMs, let me know what you're trying to cultivate for yourself. I'd love to help you manifest your dreams or just anything. I'm I'm always down to chit-chat. I'm always down to yap. So definitely slide in. Let me know what you're what you're calling in for yourself, what you're trying to manifest. Or just let me know if you're doing anything for the summer solstice. But ultimately, I just really hope that you take the moment to reflect and cleanse your mindset and just be open to any any little glimmer of joy that that presents itself to you. And we're actually very, very close to hitting our one year episode, so I'm very excited to see where where this podcast goes. It's it's unreal to me. It's unreal that I have I have this amazing group of women checking in every week on this podcast. I love you. I hope you're having a great week. I hope you are enjoying the summer solstice, and uh I can't wait to hear from you. I love you guys. I'll see you next week. Bye.
