Well, your grandmother was right you need more sleep. You probably hear it all the time Articles coming out get more sleep, get more sleep. And the bottom line is, it is true, most of us are cheating sleep and paying a price for that. That creeps up very, very slowly. Over the past 10, 15 years we've been able to document those changes in the brain. Slowly, we become more anxious, that anxiety creeps up a little bit more. That interferes with sleep. Then our mood state changes. We become grumpy, more frustrated, and there's a shift happening in the brain that becomes critical to turn around. Now here at Kepler District Neurofeedback we use neurofeedback to assist in getting the brain back on track. But for most of you, the key point is simply to begin to expand and appreciate the value of sleep. Do not cheat sleep and do everything that you can to get more sleep and you will see that, while it's not instantaneous, that will make an impact on anxiety and mood state if you're able to increase it predictably.
