Seeing the school’s number pop up on your phone can make your stomach drop before you even answer.

In this episode of Living Inspired with Autism, I’m talking about the emotional weight parents of autistic children can carry when school becomes a constant source of phone calls, difficult reports, early collections and challenging IEP meetings.

I share some of our experience with Max, why behaviour needs to be understood in context, and how you can advocate for your child calmly, confidently and respectfully without losing yourself in the process.

We’ll talk about documenting what is happening, asking better questions, preparing for difficult conversations and remembering that your child’s challenging moments do not define who they are.

You can advocate for your child and support yourself at the same time.
