When your body becomes a stranger and your reflection no longer feels familiar, you're not alone. The perimenopausal journey transforms everything—from sleep patterns to emotional responses—leaving many women searching for solutions beyond traditional treatments.
Enter NAD therapy, the peptide revolution quietly changing how women experience this challenging transition. As we discuss in this illuminating conversation, NAD (Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide) is a naturally occurring coenzyme present in every cell of your body that dramatically decreases as you age, particularly during menopause. This decline correlates directly with those dreaded vasomotor symptoms: hot flashes, night sweats, mood swings, and the profound exhaustion that can make everyday life feel insurmountable.
What makes NAD therapy so promising is its cellular approach to menopausal management. Rather than simply masking symptoms, NAD works at the foundational level, repairing DNA damage and restoring cellular function. Women supplementing with NAD often report profound improvements in sleep quality, emotional stability, resilience to illness, and even appearance-related confidence. It's a comprehensive solution for a complex transition.
The science of peptides represents an exciting frontier in women's health that deserves greater attention. For those struggling through perimenopause or menopause, exploring NAD supplementation with a qualified provider might be the missing piece in reclaiming your sense of self, energy, and wellbeing. Your menopausal journey doesn't have to be defined by suffering—cellular renewal could be the key to navigating this transition with greater ease and vitality. Ready to explore how peptide therapy might transform your menopausal experience? We're here to help you understand your options.

Disclaimer and Topic Overview
Speaker 1Hi everyone, thanks for joining us today. This is Nicole and Kelly on Tattoos and Telehealth. We are two board certified family nurse practitioners and we just like to chat it up and to give you some information that you may find useful. Please know that this listening to this podcast does not constitute a patient provider relationship and should not be taken as medical advice. Always consult your in-person provider, who knows you well, before starting or ending any type of therapy, kelly, so today we want to talk about NAD and menopause. So Kelly does an amazing job with women's health. That is definitely in her wheelhouse. She does an amazing job for that. But now there's peptides that are out. That's the new big thing. It is really, really good. Like I am really getting into the peptides and they can do some really good things and most of them have no or little contraindications and the benefits are amazing. So, kelly, I'll let you take it from here with the NAD and how it can help women.
NAD Benefits for Menopausal Women
Speaker 2So, as Nicole said, guys, peptides are the new thing. Everybody's kind of talking a bit about them, and the thing about peptides is they're being talked about in the anti-aging space, they're being talked about in the workout space, but one of the spaces that I think people forget to talk about is in the space of women's health, specifically for those of us that are in that perimenopausal period of time, and how those peptides can increase your quality of life, to be quite honest. So, as we know we've talked about this before NAD is a coenzyme. It's found in every cell in your body. Those levels are naturally going to decrease as you age, and especially when women reach menopause. So supplementing NAD or even one of its precursors, can really boost your stores and protect your DNA from damage.
Alleviating Vasomotor Symptoms
Speaker 2And, as we know, those are the things that cause women during perimenopause to have what we call vasomotor symptoms, so hot flashes, night sweats, mood swings, lability, and truly I want to encapsulate those words, and to people that don't quite understand, it's a life altering time for women. We like everything about who we are feels so different. We don't sleep, we change the way we eat, everything feels different, we react to things differently, we react to our environment very differently, and so that sudden drop in NAD levels can really exacerbate our menopausal symptoms and it really does make us feel more tired, mentally fatigued, less resilient even to illness, injury. Being able to bounce back from things that we normally are able to tolerate, repunishing your body's normal NAD levels, supporting your cellular health, it really actually can help to alleviate those menopausal symptoms. And so I want to encourage women that whenever you are talking to your provider about you know, your vasomotor symptoms, your hot flashes, your night sweats, even when you're in that perimenopausal stage, don't rule out peptides.
Speaker 2There's several of them that can help with those things. Nad especially just because it does help to repair that cellular damage. It does help to replenish your body's ability to fight back some of those menopausal symptoms and alleviate a lot of those symptoms, sometimes even. And so if you can do something that helps your body to alleviate some of those symptoms, then you have, you know, then you have better night's sleep, you are able to, you know, be more resilient to fighting off infections, to dealing with your day's activities, even, you know, even things like just the way that we feel about ourselves. So if you want to think about NAD even from anti-aging and anti-aging standpoint.
NAD for Self-Image and Confidence
Speaker 2You know, we as women I don't know about you, nicole, but kind of going through this time in our lives, we look in the mirror, we don't recognize ourselves anymore, and that has a lot to do with how we feel and it has a ton to do with our mood, liability and our emotions and the ups and downs. So not only are we fighting, not getting sleep and fighting the way that we feel, you know, emotionally, but the way that we look at ourselves physically contributes to all of that. And so when you get that boost of anti aging as well and it kind of starts to make us feel a little bit more confident I had to give everyone just a little bit of time to think about NAD from the sense of what it can do for women during that perimenopausal state. So try not to forget about those. Don't skip over that. There's a ton of good literature out there that says that it can actually help support women during that time because it does help alleviate, alleviate some of those vasomotor symptoms.
Speaker 1As someone in that state right now, I can definitely relate to that, and so we are. I know we're definitely big, big fans of the NAD, so and we do offer that at Hamilton Health, so we'll be happy to go down that road with you if you so wish. It's great for men or women, but especially for this episode, women in that perimenopausal state that are really struggling.
