EPISODE TWO MAX

Max cracks the door open to share about his real father abandoning his mother and his five small children.  Desperate to put food on the table, his mother worked a night job as a desk clerk.  His father's relatives turned her over to the authorities, accusing her of abandonment and neglect. She was sentenced to prison.  It was a sad day when all five children were separated and put into foster care.  Foster care was like living a bad dream for Max, but it did not even begin to compare to the life after his mother's release, when she remarried.  For Max, his sisters, and his mother, their life became a nightmare of years of abuse by Heban, their stepfather and their mother's new husband.
