As a certified AI strategist and the mind behind Rule29’s Making Creative Matter philosophy, Justin believes creativity should make a real impact. Fast Company named him a World Changing Ideas leader which led to  an invite to the Obama White House’s SXSL event. Justin is the author of Life Kerning, a LinkedIn Learning instructor on branding, business, and AI, and a curiosity-driven storyteller. He co-hosts Running Ahrens with his wife Sarah, sharing honest stories on marriage, parenting, and business. Justin also hosts The Design Of and co-hosts Creative Shit Show, both exploring the real stories behind what we create and why.

Sarah Ahrens is a certified strength, nutrition, and business coach who thrives at the intersection of action and impact. For 20 years, she played a key leadership role at Rule29, helping shape its culture, operations, and growth. With a strong bias toward action, she believes real growth requires risk, mistakes, and learning along the way.

A lifelong amateur and former college athlete, Sarah has competed in 5Ks, duathlons, sprint triathlons, half marathons, a Half Ironman, and Spartan races. In fitness, business, and everyday life, she brings a drive for simplicity, efficiency, and progress.

Sarah loves the fullness of life, marriage, parenting their four kids, and encouraging women to pursue strength, growth, and confidence in every season. As co-host of Running Ahrens, she brings a grounded, honest perspective to real-life conversations about family, business, and showing up for what matters most.

Jenn Visocky-O'Grady

Jenn Visocky O’Grady is a professor at Cleveland State University, where she puts out fires, mentors colleagues, and inspires the next wave of creative pros. As the university’s Faculty Mentoring Fellow (and a former department chair), Jenn is the one everyone turns to for advice, pep talks, and practical wisdom. Along with her husband and creative partner Ken, she’s written books like Design Currency, The Information Design Handbook, and A Designer’s Research Manual. Jenn’s work appears in dozens of publications, and she’s a frequent speaker championing the value of great design. She’s also an AIGA Fellow and past national board member. Best of all, Jenn and Ken are dear friends of ours, yes, even vacation friends, and we’re thrilled to have her join us.

Ken Visocky O’Grady

Ken Visocky O’Grady is a Professor and Graduate Coordinator at the School of Visual Communication Design, guiding students from their first lessons in typography all the way through research-driven design thinking. Ken’s work has been featured in top industry publications like HOW, PRINT, Metropolis, AZURE, GDUSA, and Communication Arts. He’s the co-author of A Designer’s Research Manual, Design Currency, and The Information Design Handbook, books that have shaped designers around the world. Ken has shared his knowledge at more than 30 creative events, including those by AIGA and HOW. On top of all that, Ken (and Jenn) are longtime, dear friends, so close, we even vacation together. We couldn’t be happier to have him join us.
