Amy "Wheels" Leckinger

Amy loves sports (but can't play), comedy (but can't remember a punchline), and popcorn (but can't digest it). But, most of all, she loves motivating others to believe their diseases only describe, but don't define them. Since her MS diagnosis in 2003, she's learned that life doesn't stop with a test result and that overcoming challenges makes successes taste much sweeter. In that time, Amy earned a Master’s in English Education, received an award for being an MS Leader of Hope, and raised four amazing children. Now she has four amazingly helpful caregivers who’ve learned that life’s successes are enjoyed best among supportive people with positive attitudes, smiles on their faces, and laughter in their hearts.

I am a newer Parkinson's patient, it's been about 3 years that I've been being treated for it. It has created some challenges for me, but I'm still able to navigate things pretty well. I'm trying my best to put up a good fight. This podcast will be a bit of cathartic outlet, filled with inappropriate comments and shenanigans as those are the things I excel in life. I'm also a drummer, singer, harmonica player and a Scuba Diver.  Tack on father of two and husband of one - safe to say I've got my hands full. One of those kids is also relatively severe on the autism spectrum.  My partner Wheels is my best friend, and we lean on each other a lot.
