Haunted Amusement Parks: Cedar Point, Chernobyl, and the Ghost Children Who Never Got to Ride

Haunted amusement parks, abandoned theme parks, and paranormal activity at some of the most famous and terrifying amusement parks in the world — this episode of You Two Scare Me Podcast covers ghost sightings, unexplained phenomena, and dark histories across five locations on four continents. From the haunted hotel at Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio, to the ghost children of Chernobyl's Pripyat exclusion zone, these are the real paranormal stories behind the rides, the Ferris wheels, and the ruins that refuse to stay quiet.
In this episode, Feliz and Andi take a global tour of haunted amusement parks, from the shores of Lake Erie to a contaminated Soviet city where a Ferris wheel has never carried a single passenger. Plus, they open the episode with some very interesting chatter about recent UFO disclosure news, a Brazilian psychic's prediction, and the Miami Mall incident.
Places covered in this episode:
Cedar Point, Sandusky, Ohio — America's Roller Coast sits on land that was first home to the indigenous Erie people, then used as a Civil War military outpost overlooking a Confederate prisoner of war camp. Inside the historic Hotel Breakers, room 169 has a dark history and decades of unexplained phenomena. On the property's old carousel, the ghost of a craftsman's devoted wife may still be riding her favorite horse after closing time.
Lake Shawnee Amusement Park, Princeton, West Virginia — Long before a single ride was installed, this land in the heart of Appalachia was already soaked in blood. The story begins in 1783, runs through decades of tragedy during the park's operating years, and ends with the discovery that the whole property had been built on top of an ancient Native American burial site. The swings are still there. They still move.
Enchanted Kingdom, Santa Rosa, Laguna, Philippines — The only world-class theme park in the Philippines carries the weight of the Japanese occupation of Laguna province during World War II. Security guards have reported a woman in period clothing standing near the Ferris wheel, looking at something no one else can see.
Spreepark (formerly Culture Park Plänterwald), Berlin, Germany — This was the only permanent amusement park in East Germany. After the Wall fell, the park fell with it. The story of its last owner ends with a cocaine smuggling operation, a son sentenced to twenty years in a Peruvian prison, and a forty-five-meter Ferris wheel rotting in the forest.
Pripyat, Ukraine — On April 26, 1986, Reactor Number Four at Chernobyl exploded. The city of Pripyat was evacuated within 36 hours. The amusement park at its center had been scheduled to open five days later. That yellow Ferris wheel has stood untouched in the exclusion zone ever since. Investigators have recorded what sounds like children laughing near it. The city's fifty thousand residents never came back.
Somebody Told Me — Andi shares a story from Peyton, a Key West local living in one of the oldest houses on Rose Street, built by her boyfriend's great-grandfather. Steady knocking from inside a closed closet, a door that opened with no one behind it, an unexplained flash of light in the kitchen, and one very startling glimpse of a grandmother who passed away in the house.
