What if the next level of leadership is not about pushing harder, doing more, or proving yourself again and again?

What if it is about awareness?

In this episode of Joy Unfiltered, Rachel sits down with Steve Barton, executive coach, author, and creator of Game of Ten, an awareness-based framework that helps leaders operate with greater clarity, confidence, peace of mind, and purpose.

Steve shares how many high-achieving leaders are operating from fear, self-doubt, guilt, or shame without even realizing it. Through his Game of Ten framework, he explains how we can begin to recognize those thought patterns, let them go, and return to a deeper truth:

I am enough.
 I do enough.
 I have enough.

Rachel and Steve talk about awareness, overthinking, leadership, emotional clarity, intuition, the power of the present moment, and why “enough” may be one of the most powerful words in both life and leadership.

This conversation is part practical, part spiritual, part brain science, and fully human.

Because joy is not fluffy.
 Awareness is not extra.
And leadership does not have to be powered by pressure.

Welcome to Joy Unfiltered. I'm Rachel, and this is a podcast about joy. Not the shiny performative kind. Not the everything happens for a reason kind. This is joy as a strategy. A way to stay steady when life feels loud. A way to stay human when things are hard. A way to lead, love, and live without burning out or checking out. Some episodes will be just me. Some will be honest conversations with people who have lived their way into a deeper, truer joy. No fixing, no bypassing, just real stories, real tools, and room to breathe. Let's get into it.

SPEAKER_00

My phone is on.

SPEAKER_02

Well, welcome to or welcome back to Joy Unfiltered. I am Rachel, your host, and I have another delightful guest with me today. So let me introduce Steve. Steve Burton is, whoops, Steve Burton, executive coach, author, and creator of Game of Ten, which I'm excited to get into today, which is a powerful awareness-based framework helping leaders operate at their highest level of clarity, confidence, and performance. Steve has over 30 years of real-world business experience, having grown a company from $200,000 to $2 million in annual revenue. His work blends practical business strategy with deep insight into human awareness, decision making, and emotional intelligence. He has presented his coaching process to the Harvard Business School case study team and works with executives, entrepreneurs, and high achievers who want more than financial success. They want peace of mind, stronger relationships, and a clear sense of purpose. Steve's core message is simple yet profound. When we operate from awareness rather than fear, self-doubt, guilt, or shame, we naturally perform, lead, and live at a higher level. He is also the author of The Father, The Son, and the AHA Moment and is currently writing his next book focused on helping leaders and professionals develop the mindset, emotional clarity, and inner alignment needed to succeed in both business and life. Through the game of 10, Steve teaches that when we understand how the mind works and learn how to let go of limiting thought patterns, we unlock a level of effectiveness, fulfillment, and leadership that many people spend their entire lives searching for. So I cannot wait for this magic. So, Steve, welcome to the show.

SPEAKER_00

Well, thank you very much. You said it perfectly well, and I'm excited to talk to you and your guests.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, absolutely. I'm excited that you're here. We were chatting a little bit before I hit record. You I'm from Minnesota. Um, for those of you who are new to the show, and you are calling in from Maine today, right?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, beautiful spring day. We're getting a spring. It's not, it's rare to have a spring here. Usually go from winter to summer.

SPEAKER_02

All right. Well, I am so delighted. And I had also shared um fun fact Maine is one of the three states I have not been to. So Steve has graciously um invited me to visit at some point. So maybe we'll take the show on the road at some point.

SPEAKER_01

Absolutely. Absolutely.

SPEAKER_02

Well, let's kind of jump in. You talk about awareness. So awareness being a crucial piece of our of our leadership. So, what does awareness mean to you, or what does awareness look like in real life?

SPEAKER_00

Well, it's really funny because you hear awareness, you hear alignment, you hear um self-actualization, you hear authentic self, you hear all these words, but what do they mean when you don't know what it is or have experienced it? It's just a word. I don't know what it is. And I think that's very common. And my definition of awareness is it's without thought.

SPEAKER_02

Without thought. Okay, so so give us an example. What is that? How did what does that look like?

SPEAKER_00

So imagine that you meditate, people out there who meditate. What is the purpose of meditation? To basically clear your mind of thought. Right. So, but what does that mean? What's gonna happen if I don't think? Well, the answer is you will know. Capital K N O W. Would you rather think or would you rather know? I think it's uh be sunshining out day outside, but my shades are drawn. Well, do you know it's sunshine outside? No, I think it is. So there's a difference, and that is the shift between awareness and being in a state of thought. So people, Eckhartoli says the biggest addiction we have in this world is overthinking. So we're conditioned to think we are unconditional loving beings, and so our conditioning prevents us from having joy. Because 80% of our thoughts, and according to the Cleveland Clinic, 80, we have 60,000 thoughts a day, 80% are negative, 20% are positive, 80% are from the past, and we're using this database of thoughts in our minds, we get a current download of ideas, then we turn it into a present moment thought, it goes into those 60,000 thoughts, and which one is the best choice to act upon? Whereas if your mind is clear, you get an idea and you turn it into a thought, chances are good, really good, nine in the high 90s, that it's the right thought to act upon or not to act upon.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, isn't that some of those stats I think are, I mean, I know those stats, but they're so amazing to think about. Um, but what 60,000, there's so many 60,000 thoughts, 60,000, like everything is happening. And as you said, and as we often talk about on this podcast, 80% of what is happening is is negative. And some of that, some of that's helpful, right? I mean, some of those thoughts are helpful to them.

SPEAKER_00

Some of those thoughts are don't don't run out in the street and don't and and don't look both ways. You know, you know, look both ways, be aware, and and and be and check if you're gonna make a decision like walking across a busy street. So our it's basically comes from our reticular activating system where our ego is fight, flight, freeze, and fun. So it the ego is a good tool, okay, to keep us in our physical bodies. Okay so it's but yet it's not always necessary to be using your ego when you're in a safe environment that is logically, statistically safe, and then be on fight or flight mode, you know.

SPEAKER_02

Right, but that is a practice or a habit that we that we need to go through, right? Just as I talk a lot about how we need to, I know only 20% of those of those thoughts are positive, but if we practice that more often, more often we can train, we can brainwash ourselves, right, and train our brains to to to see those or to filter positive emotions or positive thoughts.

SPEAKER_00

And yes, absolutely right. And I call that the game of often played. You can get from and the game often played is one through nine, and that process works from our ego for and it works on four elements fear, self-doubt, guilt, and shame. One through nine. So there's six, and so if you do the math, nine times nine times nine times nine, I think it's six thousand five hundred-one options in that matrix. Okay. So most people will live their whole life from the game often played, and can through positive thinking, you get to nine. But awareness comes when you take that leap of faith and leap of trust to know that I can do this completely from the intuitive intentional awareness.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, so the game often played, okay, but you have the game of 10. You just said the game often played were one through nine. So I'm assuming I make that assumption that the game of 10 helps us get to that next level.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, the game often played is part of the game of 10 because you have to know how to play the game often played really, really well until you've had a keyword enough.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, so give us give us a give us a really um well, give us a a rundown on give us again again the game of the game of often played and then the game of 10, like where give us right.

SPEAKER_00

So here's here's I'll make I love simplicity. So I do too. I just keep me in check. Keep me in check. So we're a point, think of it this way. We're appointed 10 at birth. Okay.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

Do we do we take on uh generational trauma? Yes. Uh do our parents give us their trauma, you know, both sides, yes. So we're conditioned through that uh from the ages of zero to seven. Typically, we are in theta mode, so we take on these uh traits of our parents, you know, the good, the bad, and the ugly. So it's really we get conditioned, but then what we have to do to get to 10 is to break those terms and conditions that we've been beliefs, thoughts, and beliefs that we've ingrained in us to be to have a safe, uh, happy, healthy, abundant, joyful life. So we're appointed, think of it this way, we're appointed ten, and then through life's disappointments or traumas, it will bring us to levels nine through one. Depending if it's a minor disappointment, uh, you get down to nine. If it's a little bit stronger, eight, seven, six. If it's a trauma, you know, abuse, neglect, um, abandonment, all all the abuses, you name them, they get stuck with us. And so it's it's actually situational. And then from those situations that trigger us, thoughts will trigger us. Someone says something that brings up that thought, and then we see through that lens of awareness from that level.

SPEAKER_02

Okay. Okay, so let me get this straight for those of you listening as well. So we are given, we are, we are at 10 at birth. And then what happens to us during those first seven-ish years of our life can bring us to a different level. So when you write about that, are you specific then in writing about what those all those levels look like, or is it just the like the one through nine?

SPEAKER_00

They're general, they're they're metaphorical, they're general. It's not a you know, psychology is not an exact science, it's it's just not, but it's a spectrum. And the key is to the other part of the game of ten is about letting go.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

So it's not for sissies to just play this game. You've got to do you've got to recognize that you were disappointed, you were traumatized, and you have to when these um traumas, these disappointments come up, you have to look at them, you have to feel them, allow them, and then and then let them go. So I teach a process in my coaching to create a temple in your mind. And it's also an assumption that we are divine beings having a physical experience. Okay. So create so create a temple in your mind, and and in that temple, create a altar. And in that altar, lay these. I was a florist for 30 years, so my thoughts that no longer serve me, aka negative thoughts, feelings, and emotions that are disappointments and traumas, they go, they they're a bouquet of thoughts that go on the altar. And then what I do is say something like, I'm willing to see this differently. And then Einstein says you can't solve a problem at the level it was created. So a lot of people think they can forgive at the level of their anger, their guilt, their shame, their fear. You can't do it. You can say it over and over again, but you only get stuck in it. You say, Oh, I forgive them, I forgive them. It doesn't work that way. You have to give it to that higher self within you to let it do the processing for you.

SPEAKER_02

Sure, sure, sure. So let's put this in really practical terms. So, what is the like what is let's do it internally first? Like, what's happening internally when I am operating at a level three versus a level 10? Like what does that, what does that internal space look like?

SPEAKER_00

The internal space is working from fear, self-death, guilt, and shame. Oh my God, what if this happens again? Oh my god, what if the what ifs, the the depression at three, you you're depressed because we're always 10, but these thoughts are depressing. They're they're unsolved issues of grieving that haven't been resolved. Somebody did something to me. Um, I did this to myself. It's and how do I let this go? So, but the only way to let it go is to basically let go of those thoughts. People think they have to forgive the person, place, and situation that happened to them. They have to forgive the thought about the person, place, and situation that happened to them.

SPEAKER_02

So what is so internally, when I am operating below a level 10, I am operating from that. I'm not good enough, I'm not, I'm not worthy, I don't belong here, I I will never be able to do these things.

SPEAKER_00

I will I'll make it clearer for you. I'm not 10, I'm not doing the best that I can with the awareness I have, I'm not right with the awareness that I have, I'm not enough, I don't do enough, and I don't have enough. Okay, that's the game often played. So most of the key, the one you hear the most on in personal development and podcasts and short videos you hear, I'm not, I'm not enough. I'm not good enough. That's the that is the but the fact is there's those other ones too. I'm not right. I'm not 10, I'm not at my highest level. And I'm not, I don't do enough, I don't have enough, I'm not enough. So that is the game often played. So the good news is there's an antidote, antidote to that, and is the game of 10, which the phrases are, I'm 10, I'm doing the best that I can with the awareness that I have, I'm always right with the awareness that I have, I am enough, I do enough, and I have enough. So you have the first phrase, I'm 10, which is a declaration of who we are as human beings, everyone. So everyone's 10. Um, everyone is doing, I'm doing the best that I can with the awareness I have in the situation right now. Everyone's doing the best they can with the awareness they have in the situation right now. They're right from their perspective and with the awareness they have. Is that awareness the same awareness that you have? No, you might have different information. And then I am enough, I do enough, I have enough is put in present moment awareness. So I the be-do-have of the present moment declarations of I am, I do, and I have. I we're always being, doing, and having. And I say this in to my clients, potential clients, if you can tell me the universal quantity or the universal portion, I'll give you free coaching. And like they can't, and they can't. This is it this the point is the universal time is now, the present moment. Ekatole, the power of now. And so we have time space. So, what's the universal space, the universal quantity, the universal portion? I out of hundreds of people I've asked, this is how strong our ego is not to let us know the truth about who we are.

SPEAKER_02

Fascinating. Fascinating. So if we think about all or think about all that, so it's a given all of that, and we talk about um awareness, so we talk about these things, what is how is this manifesting in our performance? So if we are not at a level 10, if I am a leader in an organization, um how is this man how is this holding me back? Or what is what is the outward manifestation of playing the game of notes?

SPEAKER_00

So this hypothetical leader operating at the hypothetical fill in the blank?

SPEAKER_02

Six.

SPEAKER_00

Six. Well, they're gonna get six percent of what they're asking for.

SPEAKER_02

They're only gonna get six percent, not sixty percent. Oh six, I would say, I was like, oh my, okay.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I know sixty percent. Okay, uh, if they're operating from five, fifty percent. Most people are just content with this is my life. I get usually get sixty percent of what you know, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. So, or 90 high achievers, um, 90%, but they need that 10% to to be to push them to be better, to do more, to have more. Okay. But it doesn't work that way. So you want to work from the pushing doesn't work that way.

SPEAKER_02

Is that was that the opportunity?

SPEAKER_00

It does work at a cost. Okay, perfectionism, uh, stress. Um, I can do more, I can be better, I can work more hours, I can be more efficient, I can be more, I'll be happy when, you know, the whole carrot on the stick. So high performance, a lot of high-performing CEOs, uh, successful entrepreneurs, they operate at levels seven to nine. And but it's still not enough. And the the word that I was looking for from the universal quantity, which I think one person out of 200 people has has gotten it. The it is enough.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, it is enough.

SPEAKER_00

Enough is a universal quantity that could that combines time and space now is always enough.

SPEAKER_02

So if I come to that realization now is enough, does that automatically catapult me to that level 10? If I if I okay, yep. That that is the that's the magic.

SPEAKER_00

It puts you in a state of grace and gratitude immediately. I am enough, I do enough, I have enough. In this present moment, I have enough, I do enough, I am enough. Put you in state of grace and gratitude. You can't be depressed and you can't be anxious if you're in a state of great grace and gratitude. Can't happen.

SPEAKER_01

So, how do you coach people to get there?

SPEAKER_00

By brain having them brainwash themselves.

SPEAKER_02

Fair, but okay, tell me, tell me more. Tell me more. How are you having them brainwash themselves?

SPEAKER_00

By practicing those phrases throughout the day.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

And when and this also does, these phrases do open up past disappointments and traumas. So don't say these phrases without knowing to when the other ones come up the fear, self-doubt, guilt, and shame, that you aren't enough, that this is a bunch of crap. Put those on the altar. Okay, you've got to let them go, or else your mind will fill up with those, and you'll be overtaken by them. Overtaken by thoughts of not enough, don't do enough, don't have enough, not right, not doing your best, and not ten. They're out there. 80% of your thoughts are those thoughts in some form or fashion.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. So what I'm hearing is it's a two-step process. It is one, I'm saying these things throughout the day about that I am enough, this is enough. And I'm gonna ask you to repeat those. So I have those written down specifically. But so that's that's one of the steps. But the second step is you have to let go of those other pieces.

SPEAKER_00

In your altar, the temple and altar that you've made. Okay. It is a it's a process of letting go. I actually coached a minister on how to forgive.

SPEAKER_02

And he said, My my sister is. Lutheran pastor, and not that she can't forgive, but they're you know, we're all just they're all just people, right? So everybody has everybody has to go through their process. It's interesting, a couple of things come to mind when you talk about that. One of the things that I've talked about in the podcast before is this whole data brainwave state when you first wake up, those first, you know, 10 to 30 minutes where we are more susceptible to, as you I even say that to you, brainwash ourselves for some of those things. So to be able to start your day with some of those positive thoughts or statements or mantras, whatever words we want to use, positive self-talk, right? But the other piece goes into the whole uh my four pillars of joy-led leadership. And one of them is energy over endurance. And you had talked about that before. It's not pushing harder and harder and more and more all the time, because that that is not sustainable, right? And you will probably never get, in your words, to that level 10. So that using these, using neuroscience, right? Using the science of how our bodies and our brains work, that that we're really talking about the same things, just kind of using using different languages. Um, so I'd like you to just so that the people that are listening today, if they can hear some of those phrases that you used again. I I want to write them down myself, but what are some of the things, those phrases that you are using coaching your the people that you coach?

SPEAKER_00

The phrases are the phrases I ask my clients to say them five times a day. You can't say them too many times. I have one client that was saying them like eight times a day. I said, give you, I said, stop. I said stop. I said you're the first person I've had to just tell you to give it time, okay? You you're overdoing it. So yeah, five times a day. Uh do it be when you're at between phone calls, do it between uh tasks, do it between because it clears out your mind. I've had one person, two people actually, um, come to me. I I'm in a local business group, and uh someone's come up to me once and said, a couple people said, Oh my god, I'm just like, my mind's I didn't sleep last night, my mind's racing. I said, see me after. So we did took me to another room after our meeting, and we did those phrases together, and he starts laughing hysterically. He goes, I can't think. I can't think. And he starts laughing. Talk about joy. He was blissing out. I said, You blissing out? He goes, Yep, I can't think. I said, Good. I said, if you leave your body, let me know how to get back in. And so he he after that he became a believer in these phrases. Um, I've never had that experience, um, but I know that a couple people have. And when you're completely trained and overthinking, it's such a relief to to let go of those thoughts. I didn't I think that's important. Um I will email you uh those phrases. I put them into um 10-second video saying them as well as a screensaver for your guests if they want to um uh send them to the have them on your you can download it for a screensaver. Uh one of my clients says, Hey, can you make me a screensaver for that? And I'll be happy to do that for your guests and you. So yeah, those are powerful phrases um and a powerful tool to let go as well. Because letting go is can you just repeat?

SPEAKER_02

I could you can you just repeat even a couple of the phrases just so that we have them right here?

SPEAKER_00

Well, let's let's do it together. Let's do it together.

SPEAKER_02

Let's do it. Let's let's do it together. That'd be great.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, so you know, when you say you're 10, you're an aspect of the divine. You are your droplet in the ocean of spirit, okay? So I am ten.

SPEAKER_02

I'm gonna say that I am ten.

SPEAKER_00

I'm doing the best that I can with the awareness that I have.

SPEAKER_02

I'm doing the best that I can with the awareness that I have.

SPEAKER_00

I'm always right with the awareness that I have.

SPEAKER_02

I'm always right with the awareness that I have.

SPEAKER_00

I am enough.

SPEAKER_02

I am enough.

SPEAKER_00

I do enough.

SPEAKER_02

I do enough.

SPEAKER_00

I have enough.

SPEAKER_02

I have enough.

SPEAKER_00

It shuts off your egoic reticular activating system because it answers all its questions. Rachel, you okay?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I know I felt, I mean, even going through that, I have a question about it, but I certainly felt a little bit of a shift in my own body, um, although I do use mantras and practiced in that, but I do so I'm gonna start to use those again to see what that what that feels like. My question is, as as I first start using them and going through that, do I have to fully believe, or can I just say them? And do I need to say them out loud? Two questions.

SPEAKER_00

No, in your mind's fine, out loud, fine, in the mirrors, fine. Um, you can't do it wrong. Okay. So I think we're we're we're conditioned. Am I doing it right? You know, I just say just do it, okay? Um, and a lot of times people, when they say it, there's the imposter syndrome comes in. Well, I don't think I have enough, and I don't, I'm not. So am I lying? Think of it this way: do you have the space for it in your life? Is it a possibility? Do I have the capacity to be enough? Do I have this capacity to have enough? Do I have the capacity? Do I do I have that space in me to be that? Which I am innately that. So you can never not be 10, but our awareness gets conditioned out of us to be aware of that awareness. Okay.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, absolutely. And that makes sense. And I I've just heard different um opinions about whether or not you have to fully believe it in order to say it out loud in order for it to work. But it sounds like you can learn to fully believe it, but just to start to say it helps you believe it.

SPEAKER_00

To allow it, okay. So a thought is a really strong belief. So a belief is a thought, a very strong thought. It's a knowing that it is. So if you've got yourself to believe that you are not enough, it's tough to let it go if you have a belief that you don't have enough. It's strong, it's hard to be abundant if you have a strong belief that you uh don't do enough, it's hard to get off that couch. Okay. So it's really a strong um commitment to that, which you don't want to be committed to those thoughts. So I think another thing that's really powerful is that we are not our thoughts, we have thoughts. We are not our feelings, we have feelings. We are not our beliefs, we have beliefs. We are not our body, we have a body. We are not our mind, we have a mind. Okay. The only thing that we are are energetic spiritual beings. Okay, that is who we are. We are uh intentional, intuitive, energetic, or spiritual beings having a physical experience.

SPEAKER_02

Yes, that is profound. So say that again. We are energetic spiritual beings having we are intentional goal setting, okay?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, intuitive, highly intuitive, because we are connected as all one mind, but we've got we've shut it off because of our being free will to get out of alignment. So we have free will. Okay, free will is not free when you're out of alignment. It can't come at a cost.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, I write that down too. Free will is not free if you're out of alignment.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it's free when you're in alignment. You get everything you ask for. And then the other question is what do you want? Yeah.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Oh my goodness, so many good things here. So intuitive, intentional, energetic beings. Because at first, where I thought you were going, because I often say this too, you know, our brains, our thoughts lie to us all the time, right?

SPEAKER_00

We are not, so we don't have to believe everything that we are egoic, our egoic thoughts 80% negative. It's a lie.

SPEAKER_02

Right. Right.

SPEAKER_00

And even the positive ones can be a lie.

SPEAKER_02

Yes, right. That too. That too. That too. So as we are talking, I mean, part of me goes totally into this. I believe all of this, I believe in the energy piece. It feels to some people listening, Steve and Rachel are getting a little woo-woo here. It feels a little not practical. So, how do we bring this, all of this stuff into my practical leadership, my day-to-day work? Not me, but my, you know, this theoretical leader that, but how do I use this in a practical sense? And how is this part of my life, even though I don't necessarily want to go with you for all this woo-woo stuff?

SPEAKER_00

Right. And it to me, I'm the opposite. If anyone who knows me, I'm not woo-woo. I'm common sense, practical, practical magic, okay? It's like ground, it's grounded in common sense, okay. The game of ten is we are all ten. We're and and our intuition is our common sense. Our sixth sense is our common sense that we're all one, doing the best we can with the awareness we have, always right with the whereas I have, always enough, do enough and have enough. That is uh what we all have in common. But finding that commonality has to be grounded from awareness and intuition and alignment. So uh anyone who thinks it's woo-woo, get on a one-to-one call with me.

SPEAKER_02

No, I I like that because I think that oftentimes, and and I run into this when I talk about joy that joy is fluffy or it's extra or it's it's superfluous, you know, and and I talk about joy as no, it is a it is we're talking about brain science. We're talking about if you notice good things, more good things, you know, you're gonna notice more good things and the RAS and all the it's it's science, it's not fluff.

SPEAKER_00

But people who are not happy will think you're woo-woo and crazy, okay, because they haven't experienced it. So what we're saying from a place of joy, happiness, abundance, truth, uh, gratitude, grace, all those high-level words of 10 be belief with a capital B, because belief, the small B belief, the small T thoughts, and big T thoughts, I call them. So people who are operating from a lower level of disappointment and trauma will think we are crazy. Okay. They have to. And I love that people come up to me and say, I think you're just crazy. I said, Thank you. And I'll go like a fox and I'll walk off. If they don't think I'm crazy, I'm not doing my job. Okay. But the and people will come up to me, it might be an eye group. They'll go, when I was before I started working with Steve, I thought he was crazy. And now I know he's not. I know he's they say he's a genius, he figured it out. Yeah, so you can't tell people to be what it's like, like telling people that not experienced um sex, okay?

SPEAKER_01

Yes, yeah, yeah, totally true.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, totally like unimaginable.

SPEAKER_02

So if I am listening and I am thinking, okay, this all this sounds all this sounds interesting. So one of the one of the things that you say, or the first thing I'm assuming that you're gonna tell me, is to start saying those phrases. So then what? How long how long do I have to do it? When does the magic happen? It's not magic, but when like so what's next?

SPEAKER_00

Um, I think you have to let go of the uh outcome. Or you're gonna be attached to it, waiting for you get in a mindset of when it's going to happen, and then that you're stuck in the you're stuck. So you have to let go of the outcome, you have to be patient with yourself, you have to just have the awareness that it happens. When it's gonna happen for you, I don't know. When it happens for me, I don't know. I don't you have to this is a very Buddhist, is you have to let go of the attachment to the outcome because you'll be stuck in when's it gonna happen. I'll be happy when this happens. Well, that's a contract, so I to teach my clients to break all your terms and conditions and put them on the altar. I said, when you say I'll be happy when, you just you just push that green button to accept it. And guess what? You will be happy for a day or two until the next thing comes up that is in alignment with I'll be happy when. And it's just you're on a hamster wheel of I'll be happy when. And no, you won't. You'll never be happy with that terms and conditions that you accepted. And your mind is like a computer.

SPEAKER_02

So one of the so what I heard just heard you say is I can do these things, I have to.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, of course. Let's like it's exercise. You're exercising your mind like you exercise your body. It'd be like uh saying to me, how many times do I have to do these exercises before I look like this picture here? I don't know. Okay, you have a body that needs to do cardio and exercise and nutrition, and it's it's really gonna work for you the way it works. It might happen, you might have an awakening the first time you do it, or bliss out the first time you do it. It might not happen at all. It is it's just you have to just know it's your enough, and what you're doing is feeding your mind, your you know, a lot of people say, I just want to heal my soul. And I'll say to them, your soul's fine, it's your mind and your body that need to get aligned with that energetic portion of you. That is fine. It's waiting for you just to be aligned, it's always 10.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. So it it occurs to me that because one of my questions was was gonna be, how do I know that I need to work with you, or how do I need to, how do I know that I need to do this, or that I'm not playing at the level 10? But we started this conversation talking about awareness, right? So that I there's some there must be the people that you work with, there must be some level of awareness that I am not fully something. Or or how do your clients, what are the questions that when they first start working with you, what how do they know that they want to even work with you? Like, how do I know that I'm not playing at a level 10?

SPEAKER_00

Right. Well, I'm just being an example of myself, when I was 36 years old, 33 years ago, I went to a therapist and he asked me, Why are you here? And I said, I have everything in the world that I want, and I'm not happy. And I said, That is F up. He starts laughing. So I go, What can I expect and how long is it gonna take? I had no idea about mental health. 33 years ago, if you went to a therapist, you were crazy. Okay. Now, if you go to a therapist, you are smart, okay? You're taking care, you're doing business, you're taking care of some stuff. Congratulations! Totally different um day and age with mental health. Thank God. So people who have everything in the world that they want and they just don't have joy or happiness in their life. And you hire a coach, you hire a therapist, you hire um do all the modalities, the acupuncture, the the physical coach, because it's all part of body, mind, body and mind aligned with energetic being, spirit, what uh soul, whatever you want to call it, that has to be aligned. And um free will, I like I love free will.

SPEAKER_02

Some days, some days, some days free will is amazing. Some days I just wish somebody would give me the banner.

SPEAKER_00

When you use it, when you use it for the free portion of it.

SPEAKER_02

For the free portion of it, right? So as you are as you are working with um with leaders, what like how would you finish this sentence? The most powerful thing that a leader can understand about their own mind is how powerful it is. How powerful it is. What brings you joy? And is that because you're playing at a level 10? I love that. I love that. What else, um, as we're kind of getting to the closure, what what else do you want people to know about playing at a level 10 or about the phrases or about awareness? What is it that you want to leave people with today?

SPEAKER_00

I want them to play with this game because we are here to recreate. We are here to recreate heaven on earth. It's about playing, playing at the level of ten.

SPEAKER_02

I love it. I love it. I don't even have anything else to add. So if they are in their cars or taking a walk or wherever they're listening to this and they are raising their hands and they're saying, I resonate with with Steve, that I feel the good energy. I want more Steve, where can they get more Steve?

SPEAKER_00

They can get more me on uh at my website. They can book a discovery call with me, they can ask me questions. I don't sell, I offer my services for those who want to go further than one through nine. Um, I can't people who call me up and that are tens, I go, What do you need a friend? Usually they'll go, yes. And so I work with tens as well because uh I 10, you can't be an 11, you can't you can't be a it's infinite. You're dealing with the infinite. So what I do help the tens with is to expand their um businesses, their relationships, uh go deeper, expand. It's expansive. So uh my job working with a client is to get them to 10. Usually I do that within two to four sessions. Now that you're 10, what do you want to do? Now that you get everything you want, you know you get everything you ask for. What is it you want?

SPEAKER_02

Well, beautiful. So two to four sessions. I can be at a uh level 10, and who wouldn't want that? And so that that that is great. I appreciate you for all the gifts that you have and the way in which that you are sharing those. That is just beautiful. Um, I appreciate too that you're gonna send uh I will put in the show notes how to contact you. And you also mentioned that at least you have a screensaver and those phrases so that we all can start playing or moving towards that. And again, those of you who are listening, raising your hand, really feeling this energetic pull to doing some more inner work and need that help, reach out to Steve. He will help you, he will help you play the game and get to that level 10. So I appreciate your time again today. Thank you so much. And for those of you listening, again, this is Rachel from my heart to yours. I am celebrating you today and every day. So have fun, live well, enjoy.
