Pain is your guide, respect it
In this episode, Posture Ellie talks you through the first of her '10 Posture Commandments' and that is that pain is to be respected, listen to it, don't ignore it. So many people are only offered solutions that involve pain suppression (medication, surgical interventions, avoiding movement etc), which doesn't get to the root cause of the issue. Pain is a message from your body begging you to stop what you are doing and change something. If you hide from pain, you're never tackling the actual cause of the pain ... and the problem grumbles on in the background, getting worse and worse the longer it's ignored. Pain always has a cause, but the cause may lurk in a place you don't expect. If your pain isn't changing (without methods of pain suppression), you haven't yet discovered the cause of it.
