Posture & Sinusitis

Posture Ellie Season 1 Episode 23

In this episode, Posture Ellie delves into 3 postural reasons as to why you might get Sinusitis (inflammation of the Sinuses) - a general lack of movement, a forward head position and, crucially, poor breathing mechanics. If we are habitually mouth breathing, we expose ourselves to be more susceptible to all manner of different ailments and conditions, one of these being Sinusitis. A key reason for this is that the Sinuses produce Nitric Oxide, a crucial gas for the human body to stay immune to different pathogens, viruses and bacteria, to keep inflammation at bay and to keep our airways clear. The 'Use it or Lose It' principle is very important when it comes to nasal breathing BUT the good news is that, with the right breathing exercises and perseverance, you can restore the ability of nasal breathing back to your body and your entire health will thank you for it.
