Justin Steele

Justin Steele spent ten years at Google.org, directing $700 million in philanthropy. Today he builds from one conviction: the people closest to a problem usually know what to build, but can’t reach the resources to make it happen.

He co-founded Kindora, an AI fundraising platform that reasons like a program officer, narrowing thousands of funder matches to the few actively funding your work. More than 1,200 organizations use it. With his wife, Sally, he co-founded Outdoorithm Collective, which takes families on multi-night camping trips on public lands with everything provided; 94% of its 400+ participants are families of color. Through True Steele Labs, his AI product studio, he builds production tools for mission-driven organizations.

Justin studied engineering at the University of Virginia and holds degrees from Harvard Business School and Harvard Kennedy School. He is a trustee of The San Francisco Foundation and lives in Oakland with Sally and their 4 daughters.
