Why AI Leadership Needs More Women with Tram Anh Nguyen [91]
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
AI adoption will not create value until organisations can answer three questions: where is it changing workflows, what measurable value is it producing, and who is accountable? Tram argues that finance must move beyond disconnected pilots towards shared use cases, practical capability-building and responsible implementation. Initiatives such as AI sandboxes, industry academies and an AI observatory can help firms learn faster, compare approaches and scale proven applications with appropriate controls.
A former finance executive turned education entrepreneur, Tram also warns that AI’s leadership gap is a business risk. Women remain underrepresented among those building and governing the technology, limiting the perspectives shaping products, policy and investment. Her response is to combine AI literacy, networks and mentorship with a goal of preparing 10,000 women to lead in AI. The wider lesson is that professionals do not need to abandon their existing expertise. Competitive advantage will come from combining deep sector knowledge with AI tools, confidence and the willingness to redesign how work gets done.
