Tamim Asey

Tamim Asey is the Founding Partner and CEO of two non-profit tech start ups: Intelligence Fusion Lab and the Digital Defense Initiative (DDI). Intelligence Fusion Lab explores the cooperation, competition, and conflict between human and machine intelligence, focusing on the evolving relationship between carbon-based and silicon-based cognition. DDI specializes in digital authoritarianism, AI and terrorism, surveillance systems, and digital civil defense. He is also host of the Podcast: Geopulse: Guns - Gadgets - Genes - Germs. 

He is affiliated with the Institute of War and Peace Studies (IWPS) and serves as a Senior Visiting Fellow at King’s College London. A graduate of the Royal College of Defence Studies (RCDS), Mr. Asey formerly held senior roles in the Government of Afghanistan.

Mr. Asey is a Fellow at the Asia Society and a Fulbright Scholar with a master’s degree from Columbia University.
