Trust is something we all need — yet many of us struggle to define it, feel it, or know when it’s safe to offer it.

In this episode, we unpack the concept of trust from multiple angles. We explore what trust means, why we need it, and whether all trust is the same. You’ll be introduced to different types of trust — from physical and emotional safety, to honesty, reliability, capability, secrecy, and objectivity — and how you would need a different combination of these trust types depending on the relationship.

We dive into how trust is built over time, how to assess whether someone is truly trustworthy, and why trusting blindly is not the same as trusting wisely. Drawing on Brené Brown’s work from Daring Greatly, we explore the delicate relationship between vulnerability and trust, why oversharing too fast can backfire, and how real connection is formed through small, repeated moments of safety and repair.

We also address one of the hardest questions: what happens when trust is broken? Is it always possible — or even healthy — to rebuild it? Who gets to decide? And what does genuine repair actually require?

This episode invites you to reflect on who you trust, what you trust them with, and helps guide you if your struggling with trust, whether it’s assessing who to trust, learning how to build trust, or understanding what helps others trust you. Because trust is essential for meaningful connections, and we all need meaningful connections in our lives.
