Daryl Easlea

After first working as deputy editor between 2000-2002, Daryl Easlea returned to Record Collector in 2022 as the editor of the Rare Record Price Guide and has also edited Genesis, Fall, Paul McCartney and John and Yoko special editions. His books explore some of his great musical loves: pop eccentrics, glam, populist African American music and prog rock. His first,Everybody Dance: Chic & The Politics Of Disco was published in 2004; his second was an extended essay to accompany the Supremes exhibition at the V&A.Talent Is an Asset: the Story of Sparks followed in April 2010. Without Frontiers: The Life And Music Of Peter Gabriel, came three years later. Whatever Happened To Slade? – a Sunday Times Book Of The Yeararrived in October 2023.

Paul Lester

Paul Lester started out as a freelance writer for Time Out and Melody Maker, interviewing everyone from Blondie to Metallica, New Order to Snoop Dogg. In 1997 he became one of the launch editors for Uncut magazine. In 2007 he went freelance again, writing for The Guardian, The Sunday Times, MOJO, Classic Rock, Prog, Classic Pop, Daily Mail and Daily Express. For 11 years he wrote a daily column for The Guardian online called New Band Of The Day which required him to discover a hot new artist every day – Lady Gaga, Lizzo, Adele, Mumford & Sons, and Calvin Harris were among those who achieved international acclaim after featuring in his column. He has also written several books: on Blur, Pulp, Oasis, Pink, Bjork, The Verve, Lady Gaga, Pharrell, Wire, Gang Of Four and Dizzee Rascal. He even hosted, for several years, his own radio show on Amazing Radio.
