I have personally experienced significant sleep issues to the point of seeing an insomnia doctor. What she told me over the course of several sessions I have done my best to put in this short episode.
If you're not sleeping, expect mental decline and physical health issues.
We all tend to try to self-treat and figure out what's going on. Unfortunately, sometimes the real solutions are counter intuitive.
