Doug Bush

Doug Bush received his bachelor’s degree from the University of North Texas in music education and is an international clinician, adjudicator, educator, performer, and composer. Bush has worked with Grammy-nominated artists, written solos, ensembles, and method books including Player's Guide for the Beginning Percussionist, Super Hands, Master Hands, and Opening Statement. Bush has been commissioned for original works performed for the TMEA Invited Percussion Ensemble, PASIC Invited Percussion Ensemble (High School), and Midwest Invited Percussion Ensemble concerts. Together with his wife, Patricia Islas they have written, arranged, and taught for numerous award-winning high school band programs. They have also served as percussion teachers and arrangers for World and Open Class Drum and Bugle corps. Doug Bush proudly endorses Mapex/Majestic Percussion, Pro-Mark Sticks and Mallets, Remo Drum Heads, SABIAN Cymbals, Beetle Percussion, and Lot Riot Apparel.

Patricia Islas

Patricia Islas is a performer, composer, arranger, adjudicator and educator in the Dallas area. Mrs. Islas is a graduate of the University of North Texas. At UNT, she studied under Mark Ford, Dr. Robert Schietroma, Christopher Deane, Paul and Sandi Rennick. She has also studied  with She-e Wu and Leigh Howard Stevens. In PASIC in 2002 Mrs. Islas received the award for the Best Individual Keyboard Soloist. She has arranged and taught drumlines who have won  Outstanding Front Ensemble, Best Arrangement, and First Place awards. Recently Mrs. Islas has performed clinics for many DFW area high schools along with Lone Star Percussion, A&M University Commerce, the Minnesota Day of Percussion and the Iowa Day of Percussion. Mrs. Islas has also been an adjudicator for several drumline and concert percussion contests including The Sun City Throwdown in El Paso.  Patricia Islas proudly represents Lot Riot, Pro-Mark Sticks and Mallets, and Majestic Percussion.

Zach Scheer

Zach Scheer is the former Director of Percussion for Coppell ISD.

Under his direction, Coppell excelled in marching, concert, and solo arenas, including 1st place in the PASIC Concert and Marching competitions, and 2nd place in the Black Swamp Percussion Showcase. His students placed at the top of TMEA ensembles, won soloist awards at the Texas State Solo Contest, marched with top drum corps, and earned scholarships to The University of North Texas, Berklee, and The University of Texas. Zach attend the University of North Texas, performing in the 2008 PASIC Champion Drumline, and studying with Mark Ford, Christopher Deane, Ed Soph, Ed Smith, Jose Aponte, and Paul Rennick. He was a member of the DCI World Champion 2008 Phantom Regiment. Zach has presented clinics such as “Percussion Directing 101”, and “Success in the Beginning Percussion Classroom”. He is an educational artist for Innovative Percussion, Dynasty Percussion, and Titan Field Frames.
