Dr. Robert Stanley, known as The Smile Engineer™, is a trained mechanical engineer and dentist with a passion for simplifying complex implant concepts. After earning his BS, MS, and PhD in engineering, he pivoted to dentistry and received his dental degree from UNC-Chapel Hill. As both a scientist and clinician, he brings a rare depth of knowledge to implantology, with advanced expertise in biomechanics, guided surgery, and grafting. Dr. Stanley is a Diplomate of the ABOI and DICOI, certified in oral and IV sedation, and serves as an adjunct professor at UNC. He co-founded The Stanley Institute to educate dentists nationwide and regularly consults for industry leaders. When not in the clinic or classroom, he's a triathlete, craftsman, and father of four.
