Season 5, Episode 12 — Liars, Evil Beasts, and Lazy Gluttons!
What happens when assumptions about people, cultures, and nationalities begin to shape the way we see one another?
In this tongue-in-cheek episode, “Liars, Evil Beasts, and Lazy Gluttons,” we begin with Paul’s provocative words in Titus 1 and use them as a starting point for a much larger conversation about prejudice, diversity, and the danger of judging people based on preconceived notions.
We take a look at Matthew 7:1–5 to examine Jesus’ instructions about judgment and the importance of first examining ourselves. We then turn to Jonah 4:1–11, where Jonah’s attitude toward the people of Nineveh reveals how deeply cultural and national prejudices can influence the way we view others—even when God is calling us to compassion.
Scripture continually reminds us that our differences do not determine our worth. We are all created in the image of God, and Galatians 3:26–29 calls believers to unity in Christ regardless of nationality, background, or social standing.
Finally, Hebrews 11:13 reminds us that we are ultimately strangers and foreigners on this earth. Our time here is temporary. Rather than allowing labels, stereotypes, and superficial differences to divide us, we are called to something greater: to love one another, see others as God sees them, and find our unity in Christ.
