We're starting a new series, and I'm very excited because it's all about identity, and it's called Unshakable Daughter Reclaiming Your Identity in Christ. So throughout this new series, we're exploring what it truly means to be a daughter of the king and how that identity is often buried under societal expectations and the relentless stream of lies that we're told about who we are. Do you ever feel like you just don't fit in in this wild and frantic world? I get it. I get that. And it's so easy to lose sight of our true selves when we're just being pulled into a thousand different directions. And it isn't just a you problem. It happens to all of us. We can all relate to that. Many of those distractions are rooted in the world. And the enemy is all too happy to steer us towards sin and self-doubt. Every single chance that he gets. When we drift away from our Father, our identity begins to tip away. And we feel that conviction. And let's be honest, it's very, very painful. So in this kickoff episode, we are diving into Paul's letter to the Ephesians to dismantle the hustle for worth culture that we live in. We're learning how to shift away or to shift from a performance-based mindset to a grace-based identity. So let's dive into the scriptural foundation. Okay, identity over experience. Now, in Paul's letter to believers in Ephesians, he challenged them to define themselves by their identity in Christ rather than their experience with sin. And while sin can be alluring and the world standards can feel like they can feel comfortable, though restrictive, like a cage that has never been God's plan for us. We were chosen by him from the very beginning. Through the blood of Christ, we are purchased and we are adopted by him. So Paul's mission was to help the Ephesians and us to shift away from our orphan spirit. So that feeling that we must provide and protect ourselves to a daughter spirit and of peace, of knowing we were chosen, predestined, and loved. And it's time to stop identifying with our past sins. We do that all too often and start embracing our new identity in Christ. So, how do you transition from performance to grace? Well, our your identity is a gift. It's not a status that you have to even earn. It's a gift because of what Jesus did. We are in Christ. And we all have a deep-seated need to belong as human beings. And God has provided the ultimate blueprint for us, for that belonging. And many women struggle with self-doubt and rejection because we live in a culture that equates worth with aesthetics, how we look, performance, how much we can get done and achievements, the titles that we hold. That is worldly. But these are the lies the enemy uses in spiritual warfare. According to the warfare principle, Satan attacks your becoming by making you question your belonging. And God always, and God says something very, very different from that. He says that you are his masterpiece prepared in advance for good works. You don't perform to get his attention. You don't have to do that. You perform from the security of his affection. Okay? So you don't perform to get his attention, you perform from a security of his affection. So let's apply biblical truths to modern societal expectations. So as you move through the week, I want you to sit with these two questions. And the first one is actually an achievement test. If every one of your earthly achievements was stripped away today, would you still feel valuable to God? Now the second is a label test, which identity label has society pinned on you? Because it doesn't come from him, it comes from society, like the busy one, the failure, um, the bad apple, the not good enough, those types of labels. So which identity label has society pinned on you that you need to just tear it off today? Tear off that label. So let that marinate for a bit and kind of really dig into that this week. Now the Bib the biblical truth for this week comes from Ephesians 1.4. For he chose us in him before the creation of the world. How amazing is that? Your identity is an inheritance, it's not a trophy, and you aren't working for a seat at the table. I know that's a popular thing that people say, I've earned that seat at the table. But you aren't working for a seat at the table. You are working from a seat that has already been reserved for you. The price has been paid and the redemption is yours. You simply have to choose him and accept the gift. I hope that this has encouraged you your heart today. So join me again next week as we continue the series and dive deeper into what it means to be unshakable. Be blessed. Thanks for listening to the Positive Girl Doctor Podcast.
