If you're ready to stop making excuses and start making real change, this episode is for you.
Hey everybody, it's Bernie Gallerani bringing another episode of Success is Not Convenient. Today's topic is Are You Tired of You? I love this topic because I really had to reflect on myself over the last 20 years in my situation I was growing as an entrepreneur and just saying, how do I better my situation? And who's in my way and whose fault is it? And why can't I have more? And, you know, all those same kind of conversations I think others may have with themselves, not sure, but I certainly had them with myself. And I thought, you know, there's really nobody in my way but me. And so this is a deep kind of uh physiological and emotional topic for a lot of people, as it was for me to have to go through all of this. And this should feel a little bit uncomfortable. Um, to be honest, it's probably a very real topic that a lot of us hate to even face. And so, you know, most people are not stuck because of their of the of the economy or their job, you know, their boss probably isn't their real problem, the market, their past, their history, let's just say, their lack of education, or maybe their education. Most people are stuck because of themselves. And so the real question today is not, are you tired of your job? Are you tired of your particular finances? Are you tired of your stress? And are you even tired of your schedule? The real question is, are you tired of you? And maybe it's all the above. Maybe you're tired of you because you're in all of those situations. Are you tired of the same habits, maybe everyday habits that you're doing? Are you in the middle of the same routine and then you want to have a different result, right? I love the saying, it's like the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and over again and expecting something different to happen. That's the same excuses, it's the same income, the same problem, the same stress, the same life year in and year out. Because at some point we must face the hard truth. And if nothing changes, then nothing changes. And this is where we get to the point where we're going, in order for any situation to change, we just have to change. And the common denomination in all of this in your life is you. Boy, these are hard things, right? Because we want to say, well, gosh, why can't I get a break? Why can't I be better? Why can't life turn out better for me? I'm not really sure. But if you have the same life, you just have a different year, year in and year out, right? We stand up there, we make resolutions for ourselves, maybe, and nothing ever changes. And the reason why is even those resolutions don't stay in line and focused. A lot of people live the same year for 10 years. It's 10 different years, and they sit there and go, Well, my life never changes. And they're always just wondering, why doesn't my life change? And well, because you don't change. And I love this because what what I realized probably 18 years ago or maybe 19 years ago was that the power was within me. It's not anybody else's fault. I wish I was more educated. Hey, by the way, I'm gonna stand up and tell you I don't have a formal um higher education, right? I graduated high school. That's it. But you know what? It doesn't mean that you can't be highly successful in what it is you do. There's no reason why you can't be as successful as you want to want to be. This will be this will be my year. I'm going to get in shape this year. I'm going to make more money. I'm going to start that new business that I've always wanted to start. I'm going to be more disciplined in the work that I do. I'm going to be more disciplined and go into the gym and be more disciplined in my eating habits, and be more disciplined disciplined with my friends, my family, my spouse. I'm going to spend more time with my family than I usually do. But do you really? I'm going to change who I am. But then guess what happens? Nothing absolutely changes. And the reason why nothing changes is because you don't change. Because commitment in changing something is very difficult. It's the same routine, it's the same thinking, you have the same friends, the same habits, you give the same effort, you have the same fears inside, you have the same issues inside, the same income, the same problems. And then other years go by. And the scary part is this is just the life. Life will not change until you change. And this is the message today. Are you tired of who you are so you can do something different? You got to be almost down on your knees and begging for change. That your life is in a situation where something has to be different. Ask yourself this question: Do you deserve a better life? This is a hard question to ask. And I think most of you guys would say, sure. Some of you have a really happy life, and I would say, great, good for you, um, for having the life that you want to have. But I think there's a lot of people out there that wish they had a different situation. And even though, and I and I would I would say I've hung out with some pretty serious entrepreneurs, uh, people with with lots of hundreds of millions of dollars, and I can tell you, um, most of them always want to grow through something. No matter how wealthy they are or how much success they have, they always want to continue to be better. You know, I love those people who go, my wife and I, or my husband and I have this really great relationship. I couldn't imagine it being better. I I don't know, I would put a hard stop on that because there can always be something better, better communication, you know, better, lots of better things can always happen, always be working on things better. Do you deserve it? A better life? That might be a question. Of course you do. Why wouldn't you deserve it? You get to have any life you want. Most people immediately say, Yeah, I deserve it, but let's be honest. Do you deserve a better life based on your effort that you have? And the answer to that is you have exactly the effort you give. Do you deserve a better life based on your discipline? Do you deserve a better life based on your level of consistency that you give? Do you deserve a better life just based on how you use your time? I love this one. People are like, oh, I do this and I do that. It's like, well, how many books do you read? How many people do you hang out with that are highly inf that you get highly influenced by? Like, who do you hang out with? Who are your friends? Do you deserve a better life just based on how you think? And none of this or any of this comes about by accident. It all shows up based on your effort to change. Just wanting to be better or just wanting to have a better life and earning a better life are two very different things. I'm going to say this to you again. Wanting a better life and earning a better life are two different things. Everyone wants the results. They want more money, they want more freedom, they want a nicer or bigger home, or a lot of people do. Boy, they want to travel. I'm telling you, I hear this all the time. Man, I'd love to travel. I don't know how you guys travel, but um I'm gonna tell you if you never traveled first class, everywhere you go, overseas, stay in the best hotel, you're missing out. It's totally worth it. I don't care people like, oh, it's three or four times more money to fly first class. Yes, and I'll tell you, it's wonderful. But you know what? Go get what you want because it's all available, right? They all want less stress. They want time with family, they want a high level of success, whatever that is for them. But very few people can deal with the rejection. Very few people will take any sort of risk. Most people live on a high level of fear. They don't want to fail. Nobody wants failure. But guess what? There's no way you can be successful without failure. Failure comes first before success, and it multiplies itself before success shows up. That's why we do in this podcast. Success is never convenient, it's not going to fit into your world. Success doesn't show up in how you live. You have to go find success, which means you have to change who you are. Long hours, right? I get a chance to work with entrepreneurs all the time, and it always staggers me on how everybody wants to work 20 hours a week and have all their free time so they can go enjoy their life. But success financially never shows up. You might have really great success with your family because you're at home with them all the time. But financially, things will struggle, right? What's your level of discipline? Is discipline an issue? Do you just hate pressure? I don't like any pressure on me. Makes me feel uncomfortable. You're gonna have to get over that, right? You're gonna have to uh increase your level of responsibility. See, the life you want is on the other side of all the work that you avoid. Ha ha. It's an important one, isn't it? The life you're really seeking, the one you dream about, that life, the money in the bank account, the better house, the better relationship with people, that life that you actually are dreaming and craving about is on the work side or the other side of the work that you avoid. So, what is it for you? What are you avoiding that allows you to have that life that you're actually really looking for? Your family deserves a better version of you. Now, this is a tough one for some people because I'm gonna probably I might upset a few people with this one, but your family deserves better. Like I think I was put on this earth to provide a really great opportunity for my family and my grandchildren. You know, I have a lot of things that I'm not talented in. Actually, I'm not talented in most things, but there are some things that I have a higher level of talent in. And I think that God gave me that ability and that I my job is to see it fully for me and for my family, because that's my responsibility. This is this part is tough, right? This is an emotional connection, or even if it makes you angry, I would say if it makes you upset, you're probably connecting with this conversation. If you are a parent, a spouse, a leader, or a business owner, this isn't just about you anymore. Your family depends completely on you, on your discipline, on your level of work ethic, on your emotional stability, your decision making, your income that provides a better life for them, your growth as a human being, your family depends on that. Your leadership, guys and gals, let me share this with you. You have a responsibility if you want to be a leader for your family. Be a leader for your family and go out and do everything you can for them. Give them the life that you dream about, give them the life your wife dreams about, get, or your husband dreams about, or your kids dream about. Yeah, there's sacrifice, but man, on the other side of that sacrifice is so much pleasure, so much greatness, so much fun. Whether people like it or not, performance actually matters. How you perform and how you think and what actions you take. Your family doesn't need all of the excuses that you give them, your comfort and your procrastination, right? What stories do you keep telling them on why you're not successful at a high level? Guys, remember, I train entrepreneurs every single day. I get to hear all of it from people of why they don't commit fully for their family, right? Dealing with all of your fears. Do you have an average effort? Are you approaching this with an average effort? Because they need your growth. They need your courage in this process and your discipline and your leadership and your improvement as a person. The best version of you. There's the hard truth about the best version of you. Your family's future is heavily influenced by your decisions and your work ethic. That's responsibility, that's pressure, but that's also purpose. Don't give up on yourself. Your family needs you. Here's the part that's really interesting is everybody has a story that they tell themselves. We all have a story. Everybody has a story that they tell themselves. And some people tell themselves, like, I'm not good at sales. I'm not smart enough. I can't, hey, by the way, I'm not smart enough. Yeah, guess what? I'm not smart enough either. There's a lot of really important people, a lot of smart people inside of my companies that are way smarter than me. I just have a talent in a certain area. But if it was, if if I had to build a company based on my talent, I'd be homeless. But I guess what I'm smart enough to invest in really good people. We got to stop telling ourselves stories. I'm too old, I'm too young, I don't have the right connections, I don't have enough money. I didn't grow up with the kind of opportunities that other people have. I'm just not that type of person. Well, no, you're just choosing not to be that type of person. Maybe you don't have the passions to grow. Maybe you should get really excited about things that get you really excited. I don't know what that is for you. I tried before and I failed. Well, good. Failing is part of the option, but also staying persistent, working with a high level of resilience in your life. It's not the market, it's not bad. The market's good if you make it good. The economy isn't bad. The economy's great if you make it that way. But here's the truth, guys. The story you tell yourself becomes the life you live. That story that goes on inside of our head is the life you live every single day. And if your story is I can't, I'm not, I don't, I tried, it's hard, it's not fair, yes. And you're tired, that's okay. And it's hard, yes. Success is hard, but it's worth it. It's not fair. I don't know. Success is not convenient, and your life will match your story if you don't get your story in line. You live your life based on your feelings. Write this one down. You're living your life based on your feelings, and your feelings are overrated. You must change the story. These are the things that I think you people should be telling themselves all the time. Guess what? No matter how difficult it is, I'll figure it out. I'll outwork all the people around me so I can have that level of success. I'm gonna learn at such a deep level that I can't be stopped. I'm massively going to improve. I'll become better in every area that I can. I'll become more valuable, I'll become more disciplined. Discipline is key. I'll become the person that earns the life I want. Yes, you can. The fears that we all get stuck with, most people are not lazy. They're just afraid. Is that you? Are you afraid? Afraid of what? Afraid of losing all you have? What do you have that you're afraid of? Yes, you have responsibility, and I appreciate that. If you have a family, good for you. If you don't have a family and you're and you're not married, then what do you have? Put it out on the line, put it all out there. Don't be afraid of failing. Because I know that people can be afraid of failing, right? A lot of people are afraid of looking stupid. God, I've looked stupid so much. It's been fun to look back on how people laughed. Oh, this is so great. I remember all the naysayers, right? I got massive rejection. Oh my goodness. Yeah, I lost a lot of money. I actually gambled, meaning I wasn't gambling, but I gambled on ideas and projects that I lost a lot of money. But guess what? I also made money. Um, was I judged every single day. I was judged by people, and these are all for a different video, right? People thought I was uh crazy for some of the stuff that I was doing. I had a level of being intimidated by success. I didn't grow up with money. I grew up in a very, I would say I was rich with love, but lack of money. I liked responsibility, but the more responsibility I had, the more difficult it was. I was allowed to accept the fact that I was outgrowing my old friends. I was really starting to change the identity of who I was, and that was a little freaky, right? Where you're changing who you thought you were into who you are becoming. So they stay where they're safe. But safe is also dangerous, guys. Because safe leads to average, and average over a long period of time leads to total regret. See, here's the truth. One day you will wake up and you will either say to yourself, I'm glad I pushed myself, I'm glad I took the risk, I'm glad I worked hard, and I'm glad I became more, and I'm glad I didn't quit. Hopefully you'll be able to say that. Or maybe you're gonna say, I should have tried, I should have worked harder, I should have taken more risk. Underline that part if you're writing notes. I should have taken more risk. I should have believed in myself more. Why don't you believe in yourself? See, there's nothing holding you back. You see those guys driving around in nice cars and having going out to expensive dinners and those couples that go out and just have a really fabulous life. Instead of looking at them going, well, they had something handed to them, just look at them and go, man, that person, that lady, that man, they must have really sacrificed a lot to get what they have. Are you willing to do that? Are you gonna say, I should have changed, I should have done more? So I'm gonna end it with this. If you are tired of your life, you might need to become tired of who you currently are. Because your life will improve when you improve. Your income will improve when you improve, your confidence will improve when you improve. All of your opportunities will improve when you improve. Everything changes when you change. So the question is not, are you tired of your job? Are you tired of your schedule? And are you tired of all the problems? The real question here is this are you tired of you? And are you finally ready to change? Guys, I know this message is hard to hear. It's something we have to face ourselves with every day because once we're tired of something, we have to ask ourselves how we change it. And the only way to change our situation is for us to change internally, mentally, and go after everything we want. I hope you guys have found value in this message today. I hope everybody has a great day. Be strong.
