Sick of dating hacks? Tired of tips that promise to “make him obsessed” or “get the guy fast” — but leave you feeling more confused and disconnected?

You’re not alone. In this episode, trauma-informed dating and relationship coach Sam Morris calls BS on the manipulative dating trends flooding social media and shares what actually works when you're healing from toxic love and ready to find something real.

Sam draws on over a decade of experience helping men and women rebuild their confidence, regulate their nervous systems, and finally understand what a healthy relationship looks and feels like. And it starts here: being honest from Day One — with yourself and with others.

✨ You’ll hear:

  • Why dating hacks are built on fear, not self-worth
  • What happens when you lead with honesty in dating (real-life examples)
  • The truth about why “just being yourself” works — if you’ve actually done the inner work
  • Why most people fail in love because they don’t know who they are or what they want
  • A simple mindset shift to attract emotionally mature, secure partners without manipulation

Sam also shares a bit about her own first-date story (hint: she swore off marriage… and changed her mind later), and how every honest conversation she had filtered out the wrong people — and made space for the right one.

🧠 Takeaways:

  • You don’t need tricks — you need self-trust.
  • If someone isn’t aligned with your values, they’re not your person. Period.
  • Being clear, direct, and unapologetic filters out incompatible people faster than any hack ever will.
  • When you show up with self-worth, the right people don’t need convincing.
  • If you don’t know who you are yet — that’s where the real work begins.

I'm back. If you are tired of seeing all these dating hacks and then going ahead and doing them and they don't work, then listen to this. So I have spent the majority of my career working with men and women. What I can tell you, I see all the time, all over TikTok, all over Instagram. Sam Morris (00:31.086) you know, do this and he will instantly become attached to you or bake some cookies. I just saw that one. What I can tell you is that people like straight talkers. So every time when I work with someone on probation, my first ever session with that person was very much me saying Sam Morris (00:59.948) This is how I work. I will tell you. I will be to the Sam Morris (01:03.355) point. If you don't like it, then I'm sorry, but I have told you about it. Sam Morris (01:10.246) no one has ever come back on me because of that. I never had any problems. And then, you know, when I started dating and you know, most people know the story with our first date. I Sam Morris (01:27.455) literally was like, I will never get married again. Obviously I lied. But at that time it wasn't a lie. That was that was genuine. I will not have any more children. Sam Morris (01:39.019) was a third one but I can't actually remember what it was so and he was just like okay because I literally like that then if that's the line Sam Morris (01:49.603) of life that you want to go down then this is a waste of money in your time I did that on a few different dates actually and though you know the response was great as in I want children so we're not we're not meant to be Sam Morris (02:08.398) I want to get married so we're not meant to be. And I don't think that you need any dating hacks. What you need is to be yourself and to love yourself enough to know what you actually want. And I think it is literally as simple as that because if you go on a date with someone you don't need to manipulate them, you don't need to use any of these... tips and tricks and all of that that's out there, you literally need to be yourself and talk about what you want. And if they don't fit with that, they're not your person. It is as simple as that. I'm Sam Morris. I have been helping people realise what a healthy relationship is and how to heal from the not so healthy ones for over 10 years now. Sam Morris (03:09.578) yeah get rid of the dating hacks you don't need them you just need to be yourself and if you don't know who that is yet then i i have a self-love blueprint i can't even talk today i have a self-love blueprint ready for you Sam Morris (03:32.14) comment below and if you're wondering why Sam Morris (03:34.781) I'm sitting in in a van this is my van for my other business some of you know I have a wedding business it is my absolute dream for any of my clients so if any of my clients are watching this you all know this is my dream to be at one of your weddings with my mini golf Sam Morris (04:00.213) people that don't know me know, you know, you won't know that is a running joke with my clients. I'm like, come on, it's time. Anyway, that's me, every now
