Kristi Mingus

Kristi has been studying Utah's soils for the past nine years. She is passionate about soil and water conservation, regenerative agriculture, and community. Kristi has a MSc. in plant and soil sciences. She has worked on soils-related projects across the Intermountain Region and has mapped soils in the Uinta Mountains, San Rafael Swell, and Uinta Basin in Utah. She loves dancing, harps, and exploring.

Michele Rehbein

Michele has lived in Utah for 5 years now and is passionate about ecology, conservation, restoration, and biology. She enjoys doing science communication and sharing nerdy science things with others. 


She has her Ph.D. in environmental science and is a Certified Ecologist through the Ecological Society of America. Michele has been conducting work related to and on mosquitoes for over ten years.


One of her favorite places in Utah is the Swell. She loves working with horses, getting outside, and spending time with her two pups and her hubby.
