Well, this podcast is your space to slow down, reflect, and take small but powerful steps to a peaceful, balanced life. Hello, I'm your host, Susanna Gonzalez, wellness coach and founder of New Life Health Coaching, which began from a deep passion to provide a holistic approach to wellness coaching. I hope you find this a place where you can focus on your journey to a better health and a peaceful living. Allow me a moment to read you a disclaimer. And it says this podcast is for educational and informational purposes only. It is not intended to diagnose or treat any condition or replace any personalized medical or psychological advice. So please consult with your healthcare provider before making any changes to your health or lifestyle habits. So in today's episode, we'll be talking about something that many women experience, but rarely ever discuss. I've named this episode The Invisible Load. Have you ever gone to bed exhausted only to wake up feeling tired again? If you've ever wondered why you're drained even when you haven't done anything physically demanding. Today this episode is for you. So what is that invisible load? Well that refers to the mental and emotional responsibilities that women carry every day. Tasks that often go noticed by others. It's remembering doctors' appointments, it's keeping track of school schedules, it's planning meals, worrying about the aging parents, anticipating everyone's needs before they even ask. The invisible load isn't always what you're physically doing, it's what you're mentally carrying. And for many women, especially those over 30, that load becomes heavier with every season of life. So why does it feel so exhausting? Well, many women tell themselves, I'm not doing enough. My friend research shows that chronic stress keeps the body in a heightened state of alertness. When your brain constantly scans for what needs to be done next, it really gets an opportunity to rest. Even during moments of relaxation, your mind may still be planning, organizing, remembering, worrying, preparing. That creates mental fatigue. And mental fatigue can be just as draining as physical exhaustion. So the emotional weight that women carry, this is another layer of the invisible load. Many women aren't just managing tasks. They're managing emotions. They become the peacemakers, the encouragers, the caregivers, the listeners, the problem solvers. When someone in the family is upset, many women feel responsible for fixing it. When things go wrong, they often blame themselves. When everyone else needs support, they show up. But who supports the supporter? Over time, carrying everyone else's emotions can leave a woman feeling depleted, overwhelmed. So, what are the signs that you're carrying way too much? You may be carrying an invisible load. If you feel exhausted even after sleeping, you struggle to relax because your mind never stops. You become easily irritated, impatient. You feel guilty when taking time for yourself. You're constantly feeling behind, no matter how much you accomplish. You experience headaches, muslim tensions, digestive issues, even anxiety. And you rarely prioritize your own needs. If any of these sound familiar, know that you're not alone. Many women silently carry this burden every single day. Now the question is why women often ignore their own needs? Well, many of us were taught that being a good woman means being available for everyone. We learn to say yes, to help, to serve, to put ourselves last. While carrying others is beautiful, neglecting yourself is unsustainable. You cannot continuously pour from an empty cup. Eventually, exhaustion catches up. Your body starts sending signals, your energy drops, your mood changes, your patience becomes thinner. And sometimes anxiety or burnout appears as warning signs that something needs to change. So, how can we lighten the invisible load? The goal is not to reach perfection. The goal is actually awareness. Here are some simple ways to begin lightening that load. Stop carrying everything along. Ask for help. Delegate tasks. You don't have to prove your worth by doing everything yourself. Strong woman, actually ask for support too. Clear your mind. Do a mental brain dump. Take a note and write down everything occupying your mind. Every task, every appointment, every worry, every reminder. Getting it out of your head and onto a paper, that simple task can create an immediate relief. Create boundaries. Not every request requires a yes. Not every problem belongs to you. Sometimes protecting your peace means disappointing someone else's expectations. And that's okay. Now try to schedule some rest time and try to do it before you actually need it. Many women wait until the burnout, it's right there. Instead of building small moments recovering into the week, take a small walk. Enjoy a quiet time with a cup of tea. Do some reading of your favorite book. Pray. Do some journaling. Just ten minutes of intentional rest can make a meaningful difference. Now give yourself permission to be human. You don't need to have it all together. You don't need to be perfect. You don't need to meet everyone else's expectation. You're allowed to rest. You are allowed to say no. You are allowed to prioritize your well-being. So here is a gentle reminder. If you've been feeling exhausted lately, I want you to hear this. Your fatigue does not mean that you're weak. Your overwhelm does not mean that you're failing. It may simply mean you've been carrying more than anyone realizes, including yourself. The invisible load becomes lighter when we acknowledge it, when we ask for help, when we stop measuring our worth by productivity, and when we remember that our well-being matters too. So, my friend, I want to thank you today for joining me. If this episode resonated with you today, I encourage you to share with seven other women who may carry an invisible load just like you are today. And remember, healing doesn't always begin by doing more. Sometimes it begins by carrying less. So today, for this episode, I have chosen a scripture, and it says, Come to me, all you who are weary and burden, and I will give you rest. That's Matthew 11, 28. What a beautiful reminder that we don't have to carry every burden alone. My friend, thank you so much for joining me today. Until next time, take a deep breath and remember that your peace matters. I thank you so much for joining me. I'm leaving you some uh helpful resources at the end. Until next time. God bless you.
