Talking Over You
Hannah and Sarah Sturm grew up in the same household, live in neighboring towns, and hang out all the time. But in one respect, they couldn’t be more different: Sarah is a professional cyclist while Hannah has spent most of her life successfully avoiding bikes at all costs. They both know that Sarah has a weird job, and Hannah isn’t afraid to ask the sorts of questions that most people in the bike world would be too embarrassed to ask. Why is there a Queen Stage but not a King Stage? How old is gravel racing? Does everyone pee in their chamois? And most importantly, why on earth would anyone choose this as a job? Join the Sturm sisters every week to hear them laugh about their vastly different careers, argue about their shared memories, and drop unfiltered takes on just about everything.

The only good thing about Sarah’s 40+-week pregnancy is that she’s been able to watch the Tour de France Femmes, and she even managed to get Hannah to watch some of it with her. In this episode, they debate whether big boobs are more aero, celebrate creative displays of femininity in the Tour, and read aloud some of the unhinged comments they got about their Remco discussion a couple of weeks ago. Plus, breast pumping, pillows, and the moment everyone’s been waiting for: Sarah’s thoughts on Below Deck.

Welcome to Talking Over You with Sarah Sturm and Hannah Sturm. Here we go. If you're gonna be an asshole, be funny. At least be funny. I thought it was a man coon. We need to have like a real athlete on here. It makes me uh consider different careers every time I have to pee in my chamois. The ball's gonna pop before me. Yeah. Look like you're gonna pop. You ready? I'm so ready. Not to pop, but to do the podcast. Oh. Sure. I just didn't think we would be recording still. So thank you to our sponsor. But really, yeah. Thank you to C Leone Wines and Winery, cleone.com. Um, our good friends Piper is the owner and Ben is the co-owner. Other than Ben, it's uh women owned, run, and operated. Um, it's an amazing winery, uh, wine varietal. Varietal? Uh that's the grape, but keep going. Oh, sure. You're doing great. Well, they also have a vineyard, so vineyard. There it is. That's the word you were looking for. Oh, doing ad re you should do the ad reads. You're the wine person. Really shouldn't. Um, but Sileone is this amazing wine label. Um, and they have kindly, generously given our listeners 20% off with the code TalkingOver You20. Um, and if you're in the Portland area, it's a little outside of Portland, um, go and do a tasting. Yeah, ride your bike down there. They live in a really cool uh or the vineyard's in a really cool area, and they have a sick tasting room and a little airstream. Airstream that's been repurposed. It's very fun, like a fun reason to go. Like, I don't know, if I lived over there, I would like make it a part of like a little like adventure ride with some friends. And I would meet you there. And you would meet me there, and that would be so great. Um, but their farm is 17 acres of grapes, um, and that's where they make the wine. Um, and C Leone is technically like a workshop. That brand name is or that label is the workshop where they kind of play with different uh grapes from Washington to Oregon, which is super cool. Um, and it's all farmed and made organically, sustainably with minimal intervention, which is how you want your wine. Minimal intervention. Great. Okay, that's the thing. Yeah, oh, very much so. It's like people who are actually paying attention to like the farming practices instead of just like adding shit after the fact to make it all like consistent, you know, from different vintages and like be able to produce a ton of cases. Like people who are doing like minimal intervention, it's usually like less filtering and fining, which like when people talk about wine being vegan, like we get that every once in a while where it's like somebody wants a vegan wine, and what they're usually talking about is like filtering and fining. They use like uh animal like bladders and stuff to filter and find stuff, blah blah blah. That's there's just like that's one of the many things that goes into like minimal intervention.
unknownMinimal intervention.
SPEAKER_00I also want minimal intervention. I was like, is that the right word? It sounded weird coming out of my mouth right after. Yeah, no, I know it just sounded weird coming out of my mouth afterward. Um, but yeah, I'm excited about their wines. I really want to have them in the shop. And yes, we're lucky to have sampled it, and it's delicious, and I cannot wait to drink it again. That's so close. But yeah, an amazing deal for you guys to try it. Yeah, 20% off is big. Talking over you 20. Talking all lowercase, talking over you 20. Um, and they have a website, uh cleon.com, S-E-A-L-I-O-N-N-E.com, and we'll link it in the show notes. And really cute merch. I want their hats. Yeah, their hats we want a hat. That's all we care about. I also care about the wine. Um, okay, you're still pregnant, still pregnant, still here, but it's still delivering these podcasts to the people, but not a baby. Not a baby. Yeah, that's crazy. 40 weeks plus a few days, yeah? Three. Three days. But who's counting? You yeah, you look pregnant. I feel very pregnant. You know, it's uh I think if you have been pregnant before and you've made it over 40 weeks, you know exactly like it's a very specific mind fuckery that happens at this point. They really we need to rebrand the due date. Yeah, here's what needs to happen people due range. We're given we're given a range of it's kind of crazy that they don't do that. It's fucking everything else is in terms of weeks. Also, everyone with pregnancy is really like ethereal and like just from its blood. And like it's it's sort of like which magic. It's so strange that they have a due date. They're like one day a day. Why wouldn't they do it in a range? And even if you know, like I know exactly when this baby occurred. Was conceived.
unknownOccurred.
SPEAKER_00I know when that little sperm met the egg. I know exactly when it was because I was tracking everything. Yeah. Uh with temper anyway, I know exactly when, and that's how they calculate your due date based on, and that's why they're like, oh, it's plus or min like, but I'm like, does your body it's really the placenta that poops out and it's like, get out of here, baby? Because like the placenta has an expiration date. I think the baby could truly be in there for I this is not a medical podcast. Don't listen to me. I'm just speculating wildly what you're talking about. It is crazy that they don't do like a two-week range. Yeah. Your due range. Or or a week. Like if sure. I don't know. It does seem crazy. And I feel like I'm gonna end up with an induction. I don't want it, but you know what? You said you feel a little bit crampier today. Yeah. And you did that one sprint in quotes. And I feel like that's gonna do it. It's crazy. I think it's just my ego, but I'm like, I really felt like I was going fast. You I like that you were also wearing your little vans. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. We've had a funny uh we went and saw our second movie in a week. Yeah. Uh we went and saw the Odyssey. It's also, it was 100 degrees here in Durango yesterday. It's been really hot. So any where we had air conditioning, air conditioning, yeah, and and snacks. But before I have a funny story from our hike. Well, we did like a little hike down to this watering hole. Um, and there was like kind of this like it was like a rock slide thing, and Dylan was sitting in there at one point, and it was really nice. Like it was just like a super chill hike down. We hung out in cold cold enough water. Um, and uh at one point Dylan was like laying on the rocks below me, and I went to go get in, and there was just so much moss on it, and I slid. Did you? But I spun like a fucking dog, and I was just stuck. You stuck in this like wedge, and I was just damming up the water and I was just getting much of it in my ear, and Dylan, I was just stuck because you can't move at all. And he was laughing so hard because he I mean, I was like, is this how I go? I mean, if that doesn't induce labor, I don't know what does it really like spun me around. Like on your butt you spun around. I was already really low to the ground, so I just kind of slipped and spun. I really have never felt closer to like a turtle, a pregnant turtle. Yeah, you're like an upside-down turtle.
unknownI know.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, crazy that you're still so pregnant. But at least you got to practice using your breast pump this morning. Oh my god. I didn't realize it was we were horrified. So squeamish. We were both. That gives me the ick more than anything else in this pregnancy. And like I understand that, like, what a miracle. Wait, let me preface this with Hannah and I know we're the weird ones. Right, right, right. We're not the same thing. There's something wrong with us. Right. We know that this isn't like inherently gross. It is us. Like we gross is us out. Sarah was like, so apparently, let me take a step back. There's all these, like, there's all these ways that you can like in like naturally induce labor. And when we say naturally, it's just like before you go to the hospital and have like drugs put into your body. So like eating dates, d raspberry leaf tea, having sex, um last case resort. Uh truly, uh, driving on a bumpy road, squats, sprints, I don't know, whatever. There's all these things. And one of the things that we learned in our birthing class and our nursing class is that um nipple stimulation, because you have to like emulate the baby. It's like anything to get oxytocin going um in your system, and that that does it. And they say the best way is with your breast pump, and so it it was time. And you hadn't said a doctor recommended that I tried it. It was so disturbing. It was, it was so disturbing. It also is funny because you're just like watching the tour de femmes, but is that what it's called? Yeah, tour de France Femme. But people call it Tour de Femme. Okay, Tour de Femmes, so it may not be it. Okay, yeah. Anyway, uh yeah. I'm sitting there, like I was so so crazy. It wasn't like there are a couple parts to it, right? It's like your nipple actually in there getting like and like that's crazy to watch. Like that's a crazy thing to see. And then also, like you had like colostrum that came out, and both of us were like absolutely horrified by it. All the LA influencer girlies were like, you just threw away the liquid gold. The gold mine. It was It was cheese whiz. So gross. And I recognize that that is like beautiful and it's a miracle of the like It is crazy that you just can like sustain life. Crazy. But I I would prefer to not. A little gaggy. I was like, don't chubby, don't chubby, don't chubby. Yeah, Dylan came in and was like totally. He was like, you guys are so insane. I did think it was funny that you also thought it was gross. It grossed me out a lot more than I thought. I like I was like, I'm fine, like I can hang with it. And I'm not even responding to like your energy with it. That was the energy that I carried into our nursing class, this whole experience. Everything else has been like surprisingly like okay, but that was exactly how I felt like it was gonna feel. Yeah, what did it feel like? Oh, I mean, like just seeing things come out of your nipple is yucky. I think it's also crazy because like growing up, maybe I don't know. I thought that just like there was like one hole, like a pee hole out of your nipple. Everyone thinks that. Yeah, and it's and it's not, and there's something even like creepier about like it's all creepy. It's like a sponge. I'd actually like to move on. All right, let's be done with this podcast.
SPEAKER_01I'm actually feeling ill.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, so that was fun. Last thing about birth, though, I have a friend. Yeah, right. Uh, a friend that just had their congrats on Monday. They went in, they were induced, they had their baby boy, um, and I went over to their house and they were telling us all the stories, but they were saying they it was their second kid, and um they went to the same hospital that we're gonna go to, the birthing center, and uh and they were in there, they didn't have like a doula or midwives or anything, they just had their friend come and like kind of support them, which is great, and they decided. So their friend went to go take they did like a print with the placenta. So their friend because they're supposed to look like a tree of life, I guess. Right. I've anyway, you can guess after the breastfeeding thing how I feel about the placenta. Um, so anyway, their friend, they're like sitting in the room with their new baby. Um, their friend goes out uh to collect the placenta and tell the nurses, like, I like these two people want me to do this, and uh just stealing a bloody placenta. So then the nurses have to come back in and check with our friends, like, hey, are you signing off on this? And they were like, Oh, who's that? They were like, we don't know her. We thought she was with you guys. Oh and the nurses start freaking out and they're like, Gotcha! Oh my gosh. They would do that. That's amazing. I know it was so Did they let it play out at all? A little bit, but then I think the nurses started freaking out. They're like, We thought she was with you. Thought somebody was just like randomly stealing somebody else's skin to the birth center with them the whole time. Oh, like the whole time, just being like, Oh, I thought you brought that. They were just fucking with them. Oh, I thought it was amazing. That super checks out. What kind of jokes are you are you gonna play on your? I don't, I can't even think that far. I I honestly don't believe I'm gonna make it to the delivery. Sarah. Not in like a morose way or like a sad thing. Like, I just am like, I just it feels like it is so far away still. Does it? And never gonna happen. I think it'll happen as soon as I leave here and like get comfy at home. You're gonna be like, actually come back. I hope. But I want to do my nails first. Great, and then I'll come back. Great. Hopefully you'll have time. Um, we have big news for our listeners. What? You started watching Below Deck. Yes, and sh and boy, boy am I. And tell me, how do you feel about it? Ugh, it is thank goodness, because the women's tour is only nine days long, but below deck, many days long. Years, seasons, years, seasons worth an eternity. I know, so I got Sarah started on this current season because it actually is a it's a very good season. It's very funny. I think you were correct. She said the way that you do below deck is it has to be a good captain and a good chef. A good captain and a good chef. Although I have to say the current season I'm watching, because then of course I'm up to date on the the current one, and then I went backwards. And I think I was watching season nine of uh Captain Sandy and Ned? Yes. Okay. And um the chef was he's he's like fine. Is it Ben? He's like short. He was like a Michelin star chef. They all say that. I think he's Scottish. Oh. But it's the one with the really funny lesbian girl who's a a one of the deck hands. Uh-huh. You went back a little ways. Okay. I'll rewatch it with you. I'm so excited. It wasn't our favorite scene. Dylan's also in. Yeah. I I know, and I love it. Dylan, it's like when Dylan was watching or when I was watching New Girl, and Dylan would just like poke ahead in and just poke ahead in and just stand behind me watching it, and then like say that he doesn't watch New Girl. But if he doesn't watch that Schmidt really is funny. Sometimes he'd be like, uh Jeff really doesn't watch any of it. I'll like and I believe that. And that is true. I started watching Real Housewives of Rhode Island because I have nothing else to do with my life. Um, and it's really pretty bad. But their accents are are very funny. Um, but I feel like every time he walks in and sees it and listens to like what the fuck they're talking about, I think he's judging me pretty deeply. But you know, I knew you would like uh blow deck, but I know that Jeff won't like any of it. But I am so excited that you finally are into it. I the other seasons were not that good. You do have to pick and choose. And if you go, I mean, I'm sure there are. You might be too far back. That's what I was gonna say. I think I'm sure there are people that are like, oh no, you have to watch all the older ones. And I've seen a lot of them. And the only fun thing about that was that like cell phones weren't like a thing yet. Well, I feel like on some of these shows that have been running forever, this is like the same thing with real housewives, right? Yeah, it you can't go all the way back because it's so outdated that it's no longer like it's it's not relevant enough. And like production value, like it isn't it, it's hard to yeah, it's hard to go all the way back and watch it. So you have to like go a little bit back so that you know what's going on, but not fully. That's where you just like look at Reddit and see like where should I start? And it's not that like I was trying to tell Sarah to watch it, and she was like, she just like she watches shitty TV, but it's not any reality TV. She's like, I just don't need to feel like I'm like better than like you know how like sometimes you watch reality TV and you're like, well, at least I'm doing better than these people. But I'm like, it's not even about how I feel it's that's not how I feel either. It's like I just I it's the same reason I liked real world when that came out when we were in high school. I it's just sort of like you get to observe human nature. Yes, that's exactly how I feel about it. Where I'm like zoo. It is a little bit like like a people zoo. And I do, I like And that's why I like sports. Okay, yeah. Sporty people zoo. It's like zoo and spandex. Ew. Um no, but it it is. You get to like observe and like get just like a glimpse into how somebody else judge. Well, like judge judging is part of it, like or or like observing, and that is like judgment. Like you're observing and you're judging, and you know, like, well, that I wouldn't have handled that situation that way, or like that was an interesting way to handle that. You know, you just it just depends on like there's like Dylan and I are talking about this because like the season that we re like w uh went back on, there was just like they were clearly trying to make drama out of nothing. A couple like three of like there was two girls and then this gay guy, and they were all just being like a little over the top to the point where you're just like, I know that like if this weren't a reality TV show, there's no way Natalia would have come back on the boat. Oh, Natalia. I can't wait for you to watch Blow Deck Sailing with Captain Glenn. Oh, new captain. I've really become attached to Sandy. He's great. Did you watch the one where Sandy broke her wrist? Yes. That's the season. Okay. Yeah, no, I watched this season. I just, it was, you know, whenever it came. It was just like too much contrived drama with a couple of the girls. Well, I can't wait for you to watch Sailing with uh Daisy as the chiefs do. You haven't you haven't met Daisy, have you? You'll like why are they are they stewards? Is that what they are? That's a really good question. And I think that's I think you're right, but I'm not totally sure. It reminds me of Swannies. What are Swannies? Swan ears. Swan ears. They're just swan ears. They've got swan ears. They have a really ears of a swan. That would be a swan ear, funny shirt to wear to the tour. Who's your swan ear? Oh my gosh, that would be great merch. A swan. Okay, guys, we're gonna make a merch swan ears. Maybe for our our collective maternity leave, we'll come up with some merch for you guys. Yeah, I'm really excited about our maternity leave. I keep going, okay, just like if you go into labor on Thursday, then I get to not go to work. I know you can't. I know that's the like fucked up thing about the way that my brain works, though. I still am like, well, I have to be there. Careful, those pants are low. I still have held out on not buying any maternity clears. I know you can hardly tell. They're just barely above the like the slit of your garage. Uh wow, what do we want to talk about? Um, well, I have I I mean the Twitter France Femme started. Yes. Thank God. Huh. Otherwise, I don't think I would have made it the last couple days. You're fine. It started the day after my original due date. Okay. Um, but it's really exciting. Hannah watched the stage today. I didn't watch the stage. How do you feel actually after watching it? Well, what's your takeaway? Give me your hot takes. Okay, I have a few hot takes. Um I do I do feel like emotional watching sports. Like, I get it. Like when the when the woman who won who was like totally out of nowhere, like nobody also, sorry, this is gonna come out in like a week and a half. Yeah. So it's gonna be pretty good. This is gonna be old news, so we're not we're not gonna focus on like the stages. So we won't have known by the time you listen to this, there will be a newly crowned winner. Okay. Well, we're today. Um, the woman who won, like when she finished it, I was like, oh, like it does make me a little like weepy and sad, and like I love a cool stage where like underdog won. Yep. Um kind of came out of nowhere. On the Uno X team, Sigreed. Sigried. Sig I G R I G. Um, and so that was super cool. So that was one of my takeaways. Um the other one, oh, I was gonna ask you about um, so like one of the support cars was passing off a bottle, and the girl was like going to grab the bottle, and then I was like, Does she, is she like not able to grab it? Like, why is she holding on so long? And then I was like, are they? Pulling her? Like, what is going on there? Is this thing that happens in the men's and the women's tour. Uh-huh. Um, and it's called a sticky bottle. Great name. And there's an art to it because you're allowed to take a bottle and if you do it in the right way with the right like angle of your hand, you can get like a little boost from it. Like you can use it to like push off and like go like up a little bit. And you're allowed to do that to a certain extent. There are rules specifically about around how long you can hold on to the bottle. And that's and if you get pinged for a sticky bottle, if the command saree sees you, if the you know whistleblowers blow their whistle at you, you get fined and your team gets fined. And oftentimes I wonder how much the fine is. I think it's like a hundred euro. So they're like, whatever, we'll take a totally rack them up. Oh, really? So they do sticky bottles all the time. Yeah. Do they ever do like a clean bottle? Uh I mean, if they don't need it, they'll just like grab it and go. That's weird that they just like get fined when like money doesn't really seem like much in the office. Sometimes they'll get like points deducted, like UCI points from the team. It seems like if they added time on I think sometimes you'll get time penalties. But a lot of the times the people that are going back, like the domestiques of the team, are going back, uh, they don't care about time. Like they're just they're able to bleed time because they're simply there to serve their queen bee. Because it really did look like she was just like holding on and the car was pulling her. That one was not a very clean. I'm curious if uh that was a fine guy find. I don't even remember who it was. I mean, if the UCI is looking for a new scope on the sticky bottle situation, Hannah Sturm. Like you're for hiring. I've never heard you say my full name. I was just thinking that. That's really weird. Really? Well, I feel like I say your name all the time. What? Well, yeah, because uh Oh, I say your name to other people, but I'd never say your full name to you. Yeah, you want me to hear you say your name? Sarah Sturm. Yeah, it's weird. Was it weird? Yeah. Sarah Zoe Sturm. Was that weird? Yeah, I felt like I was in trouble. You are. Dylan yelled at me for something that I had no control over. I can't. Oh my god. I wish you could tell this story. It's so embarrassing. I laughed so hard in the car yesterday. Sarah was like, I can't tell this story on the pod. I will tell it to my friends. The two of us were laughing so hard. And Jeff and Dylan were in the backseat, not laughing at all. And I think there's something fucking wrong with them. Dylan was starting to laugh about it. Anyway, really funny story. That's sorry. That was funny. Dylan at one point, Dylan doesn't say my name often, especially if we're not like yelling at each other. But he was like, God damn it, Sarah. Yeah, you did get in trouble for something that was really funny. Anyway, sorry, sorry to not be able to talk about that. Um, what's your takeaway from the tour so far? Well, I got to watch the first stage with um my friend Kristen McGrath. Uh shout out. Um who she used to be a like kind of one of the first pro road racers who I knew when I was in college. She was racing for it was like the peanut butter and co team, which was a sick sponsor. Peanut butter? Do you remember? Yeah, that that brand. I think it still exists. It's called like peanut butter and co. And they used to make like cinnamon and chocolate peanut butter and like banana peanut. It was really probably not good for you, but they sponsored this women's team that's now team 2028 or whatever. I don't know, it's uh it's a road team. Anyway, she raced for them. So it was really fun. And she was on, she was racing pro road eight years ago, but so much has changed. She was like, whoa, it's so crazy. Like, not just the like the bikes, the kits, the like, I mean, there was no women's tour when she was racing. Um, there was the women's giro d'Italia. Um, and she was on the anyway. Um, but she was saying, like, whoa, it's so crazy. Like, we used to have to hem our own, like, if you were leading the race, they would give you these like size medium, baggy ass jerseys. Like, imagine the yellow jersey being like super big for that girl, like tomorrow when she's in the yellow jersey. Yeah, how do they size things? So, well, they size them correctly. So there's like a clothing sponsor of the whole tour for and I think it's Santini for both men and women's. Okay. Um, which is an Italian brand, obviously. Um, but they then like screen print, so there's like sponsors of each jersey. Like the yellow jersey will have a sponsor, and that's like the biggest logo on there, but then they'll they'll like screen print your team's logo on there. Like that night. Mm-hmm. But what's really interesting, so like the bigger teams, like um Demi's team, the FDJ, or Visma Lisa Bike team, they're like the two some of the two biggest teams. If they and they're counting on one of their riders being in the yellow jersey, so I'm sure they have already painted a yellow bike. They have yellow bar tape, they have yellow head like garments, um, they have yellow like matching. Wait, when you get the yellow jersey, then you also are on a yellow bike? No, this is what I'm saying. Oh. The bigger teams have budget to have already pre-made all of that stuff in case they have a rider on the team. But what will happen with these like kind of newer people, the dark horse, they are just like, uh, well, maybe like get some yellow bar. But they were not, I mean, that girl barely expected herself to get a stage win, let alone she's this is stage three for those of you following. This will be in, you know, the past, but um, there's no way she didn't even expect a stage win. Yeah. So she will probably she'll be on her normal bike, but they might like zhuzh it up a little bit, like if they have some. You know what they should do is put the little streamers on the handlebars. A great idea. Yellow ones especially for a time trial. That seems like I would love to watch how they blow in the wind. That's what I want to. What happened to those? I haven't thought about those in so many years. What did happen to those? I don't see them on kids' bikes either. Because everything is too serious. We'll put them on our kids' bike. Yeah, fuck. That's those are so fun. They're so fun. Little bar streamers? Yes. Yes. I'm sure they make them for adults. I think you should start bringing that back. I'll I'll I'll rock them for the first gravel race, just flapping around in all the sweat. I think it'd be really good. It'd be really funny. They would fly out. Didn't they just used to they were like corncob holders? Yeah, you just like they're really cute. I love those. We'll add them to our merch ideas. Yeah. Oh, I'm really liking where our merch is going. But like other teams will have like yellow glasses, yellow shoes, yellow helmets. So it'll be curious to see what she has tomorrow. Oh my gosh, I can't wait to see what she's wearing. Me too. What exciting things. Which does bring up the thing about like we've got fancy nails. Ugh, we've got makeup. Like, I that's there is some like, and this has always been a controversy in women's sport. How women show their femininity. And like men and women love to comment on this. And some women are like very and I I've experienced this, I've experienced like my own feelings about it from like when I started racing when I was in college, and I was, I mean, listen, I've just been too sweaty my entire life. I can wear anything. You can't wear makeup on a normal day. No, that like tubing mascara. Kate Courtney was the one who was like, I was complaining. Yeah, I was complaining about it, and I still have tried to wear that Thrive cosmetics, and it just comes right out. And it I just have black Ellen's like, what are all those black things on your face? You have you have mentioned that before. But yeah, so all of these women are like full makeup, nails, nails done, hairs done. And I love it. Everything did. Yeah. Lorena, I was like, I love it too. But what I She had a sick man, like I appreciate like not even just like painting your own nails. Like she got these professionally done, and they were sick as fuck. Her holding, she won two stages. She was in the yellow jersey. Yeah. And Domi, shout out, took a photo of her holding the gold medal. So cool. And it was just the medal in her nails. So here's my And I'm here for it. I'm so here for it. And here's my thought about it. A few different things. Like one, like the general like expression of self, right? And being able to like, it's artistic, it's expression, it's like feeling how you want to feel. Like, but then also I think it comes down to like this control piece, right? I just want to finish this really quick about like um, yeah, no, no, you're doing a really good job of let letting me talk. Um, this thought that like women should be small men, right? And that they should show up to these races and be serious and have like no expression at all and just like be clean faced, no makeup. And that's not like let them be women if they want to put fucking makeup on and do stuff, like let them do whatever the fuck they want to do and don't treat them like small men, right? They are women, and if they want to express in a feminine way, let them fucking wear earrings and nails. It's like you know, Olympic sprinters and stuff. Like, I think it's great. I think I love totally it, but I also I totally agree. I mean, I I totally agree. I don't know if it's even consciously, maybe subconsciously, it's it's that women are not used to seeing or sorry, people are not used to seeing women and this other display occurring at the same time as their sport. Look at that duality. Yeah, and and what I love about it is that you want me to tell you what the men's version of this is? I really do. I was wondering if you guess. Well I was like, okay, if you think in some I think in some sports it's tattoos, right? Like I think in soccer and basketball and like Sure. Or it doesn't seem like it's really tattoos. I'll go I'll go tattoos. Is it socks or something stupid? Oh, it's worse. Glasses? Worse. Closer. Helmets? Nope. It's a tiny piece of equipment. It's like a band-aid. The only okay, I literally there's literally other than facial hair. Some guys will have some cheeky facial hair, I guess. Cheeky how? Cheeky like they got polka dots? They'll do like, I don't know, like Quinn does his like Rambo style or whatever is expression. Um chowls. I don't know what the chow is. Chops. There it is. Chowls. I don't care. I really like don't care about men's facial hair. Um, but the only the only expression of self in a creative way, and I'm really being generous here in the men's tour, was one guy, Squelmos, last year on Letal Trek, would decorate his nose breathe right strip. Wow. Men they are creative. Did he put rhinestones on it? He would like decorate or like it, he would decorate it based on the stage. They did a whole fucking feature on it in the tour. And honestly, I like that. I was here for that. It was so dorky and it all looked really dorky. And honestly, if the men started putting like painting their nails and wearing jewels, I'd be so here for it too. Like I know. I think it's just I I truly like I don't get it. Like I remember being reprimanded, and I'm someone who like I love. Stop the ball is squeaky. Your heels on it. Okay, that's better. I've been reprimanded my whole life. Um, I remember getting in trouble from uh a cycling team coach because I wanted I put a bow on like the top of my helmet, and I was like, they're like, it's not arrow. And I'm like, oh, this might not be the sport for me. That's so dumb. Um, but I like I think especially in road, there's a lot of like conformity and like it's so intense that you have to like. I mean, especially like world tour, like everyone, like there's a lot of rules. Like, there's rules with how your kits look. I mean, your socks can only be a certain length. Like, there's rules up the wazoo. So the fact that like women want to like, and and some women don't, like a lot of them don't. Really, and that's great too. I also I'm not someone who can wear like a full face of makeup. I'm too fucking sweaty. If I could, I probably still won't, because it's like another step that I have to do before I have to make it. Right, but for some, but for some people it feels like ritual and it's calming and it's like routine, and like that's a- I remember when I was younger, I was definitely not following road racing, but I was like following um mountain biking more, and there was this woman, Emily Batty, and I was I've always been a tomboy, so like I'm not like much of a jewelry person, and she was like uh Emily Batty was like this Canadian Olympic mountain biker world cup racer, and she was like, This is before social media too, and she her like trademark was this like big, it looked like Wilma Flintstone pearl necklace that she would wear in all of her like cross-country races, and she was like the girl, like all the girly girls loved Emily Batty, and I just remember like it was like how we felt about spice girls. Like there were some girls growing up who were like anti-spice girl, and they like that was me. You were anti-spice girl for sure. It was like everyone was like, which spice girl are you? And I was like, I hate all spice girls and Britney Spears and Christine Aguilar because I'm cool and a tomboy. Willie, cut that. We're gonna get canceled. That's that's where that's how it happens. We get canceled because you didn't like the spice girls. I don't think I knew this about you. I loved the sp- I like the spice girls now. No, but I didn't like I especially baby spice. Yeah, you didn't like baby. Emily Batty was the baby spice of the mountain bike world. Okay. Well, it also makes me think about the EmilyFans uh sorry, Grad. The only the OnlyFans hiker, uh true hiker, who like puts her makeup on every morning and paints her nails and does it. The only thing that drives me crazy is how she parts her hair. And that's just like an OCD thing because I was like, that's not where your part is. Yeah, she does kind of like it's like back here and she pulls it all the way over and then does the most dangly loose bobby pin that would drive me fucking crazy. It's just a little bit. But I love that she's like hiking in like pink and cotton and she complains about how few hiking things are girly. And like I said, that's what she wants to do. Yes. And if you want to do that, I think you should. And if you want to wear men's clothing and if you want to run in long, baggy running shorts, like what's her name? Courtney DeWalters. Yes, yes, do it. I love having the Emily Baddies of the world, the Courtney DeWalters of the world. Yeah, yes. I want to see all of it. Yeah and uh for like women in the sport of world tour road racing, sorry, but aerodynamics does matter. So like there's not a lot of options that you have, right? It's different than track running. Which why does aerodynamics not matter in track running? That actually does blow my mind. Oh, actually, on this I have a big thing, and it's gonna get resolved by the time this podcast comes out, but there is a big remember back to the Olympics um when the ski jumpers were like putting the penis injection thing in to like for aerodynamics. There's the equivalent happening right now in the women's tour. I saw that for tomorrow's time trial stage. But I don't understand it. I will explain it. Thank you. Okay, so the issue, so tomorrow's the time trial, which is it everything is about aerodynamics for a time trial. Right. Like it's a 21 kilometer, like it's relatively short. Yeah. And in some ways, the shorter the distance. Well, I don't know. Anyway, um, what is happening is women are buying bigger bras and stuffing them for like a an aerodynamic fairing, like a boob fairing. Because like the way if you have I don't know shit about physics and aerodynamics, so like sorry, uh, there is more to this, but like basically it's remember when like during my pregnancy announcement, everyone's like, oh, you're more aero. I thought they were joking. No, no, there's like oh there's like a thing that's why like all the gravel racers were putting their like hydration in their the front. I definitely didn't see that unbound and stuff. Yeah, they were wearing all of their their like hydration in the front because it's more aerodynamic. What? And I don't understand it. Maybe we can ask Silka about this because they've done like testing in their wind tunnel. Okay. I'm sure specialized has too. Anyway, um, but yeah, it's more arrow. Um and so we are seeing women with like boob aero fairings, but the UCI is trying to ban it for tomorrow, and all of these teams are trying to like fight it because I'm sure that they've done every single adjustment with these like super highly customized skin suits and bigger boobs, which is a shout out to our sister pod, uh bonk babes, because they have a sticker that's that says boobs are arrow. Oh, and that's and it's not a joke. No, well it is, but no. Okay, wow, this is a whole new thing. So, but what happens then if somebody has a boob job? Well, big boobies are more arrow. I just okay, huh? Huh. Wow, I really should get into bike racing. I'd be so. So you're gonna have to you're gonna have to wait and see how this rule pans out tomorrow. That's true. That's true. That's crazy. So, like when you have huge tits potentially, we'll see what happens. I'm still not convinced that that's gonna happen. That reminds me every day. Oh, he's like, oh, your boobs are still small. Um but that could actually work to your benefit. I that's yeah, wow, that is news to me. I'm gonna have to but back to the nails and the aerodynamics. I'm just here for like oh, there's also another thing that I saw, and I'm like, I just don't get it. What? Um I just I love the cre like I love when people do something that's different and creative. And like, even if it's not, even if like even if it's not different or creative, but if it feels like an expression of themselves, then I like it. Especially in road, because like it's a lot of like you have to match your like there's a lot more rules in in road racing, especially world tours. So I'm like, these girls want to get after the the nails. Hell yeah. And if they like can wear makeup and figure, of course, also you ever get your nail down and your nails done, you're just like, damn, my nails look so good. Like it's so fun to just like look down and be like, my nails look so good. I know, yeah. And they did a whole feature, and I was here for I was way more interested in that. What was the other piece that you're like, oh there's another piece? You literally just um there factor by so oftentimes uh teams will like do like a special edition of something cool, like a release uh for um the big races that happen. So like years ago, Rafa did this collab with the skate brand called Palace. And they I think well, I have one of the jerseys, I'll show you after the podcast. But um, it's when Rafa sponsored EF, Education First, the pink team. Um, and they for their men and women's team, they did these sick, I mean, they were so weird and wild. They were like hot pink with like green dinosaurs, and like it was just a really weird, like their helmets were all customized and like had these like dinos and stuff on it. And it was just like this really, it was really weird, but really cool collab that was like very special edition for the men and the women's tour. And their bikes were all different, and it was so sick. Not for everyone, like sure objectively. Like, I actually am like, I don't know if I would wear it. Is that art? Yeah, exactly. It elicited a feeling, right? So Factor had these special paint jobs, but only on a few bikes, from what I can tell. And it was just SpongeBob, square pants. I'm sorry, one was Patrick. Okay. But it was that was it your nose just whistled. Did you just pee? What's happening in everything? Oh, okay. Maybe it's just movement. Um, that's so strange. What what do you think the story is behind that? I maybe it's a generation thing. Yeah. Like when Lainey was in here, she lost us on the Spongebob reference for sure. Yep. I was that's immediately. But I used to watch SpongeBob. Like I don't dislike SpongeBob. It's just not like the cartoon that I like identify with. Yeah, and that's and there is a cult, there is a cult following with Spongebob. Yeah. However, I feel like the execution, well, this is gonna secure me never racing for factor, I guess. But is that an option? I I don't know. It's all it's always an option. Oh, okay. Um, but uh anyway, I just like I just felt like the execution, sure, SpongeBob. But like it just Can you imagine being anytime I see something that like marketing, I'm like, huh. I always think about like those meetings, right? Like there went through so many people, many people that are like this one maybe not enough. That are like, yeah, let's do Spongebob. I mean, also like I do plenty of sponge. Stuff that like it's not for the masses. Totally. I think it's just a mission. Or maybe they weren't trying well, I think what is maybe like the I think that like it just felt a little half it's not even the SpongeBob. It was just that it was like a couple of bikes and it didn't match the girl's kit. And we hate to see it. If you're gonna if you're gonna commit, you gotta commit to the bit. Commit to the bit. Yep. I wanted to see more sponge bob. More more bob. Put her in a star suit. Make her Patrick. Yeah, like I mean, you like have the perfect opportunity to do that. The squirrel. Oh yeah. Do like a full oh yeah. You could have oh my gosh, you could have made a Sandy the Squirrel like for the time trial one with like the helmet. Okay. The squirrel tail. Put us two squirrel tails as the streamers. The streamers. Or you could have easily done like the SpongeBob like jersey with like square pants and then I would have been here for it. But it didn't commit to the bit. Yes. There was no commitment. Or give them Spongebob Spongebob. Or Spongebob. SpongeBap Aerosax. Aerosacks? The men won't let you do that anymore. You can't have aerosacks on your chest. Crazy. Wow. Sorry about the extra squeaking. I had to sit on my my ball. Yeah. Um we did this week, we um we angered the men. Oh we angered the men on Instagram, which is apparently incredibly easy to do. Um super easy. All you have to do is say anything about another male. Yeah. And they are up in arms. We posted the clip about Remco. Yeah. What was that? Is that Thunder? Hopefully. About Remco. And the comment section was hilarious. It's so fucking insane. And Handy and I are sensitive, but honestly, you guys, they just made us fucking laugh. We did giggle pretty hard. We wrote down the. I mean, they're trying to be mean, but I just am like, I think I well, I'm so like, I'm like, this doesn't bother me at all. I just have never like it's crazy when a clip goes to like I doubt these people listen to the podcast. Definitely not. There was one that knew who I was, which is even funnier. Yeah. But there's I just I also just think it's so strange to comment on somebody else's thing something negative. Like I've never literally never done that in my life. And there are people like yeah, but it's like not about them. Well, it's it is no, it's about them. But like I'm saying, if if I watch something on the internet and I'm like, ew, I don't like that and I don't like them. Move on. Move on. Or comment and continue the engagement because that's great for us. But like Did you write down any of the funny ones? No, I forgot to. Oh, you idiot. I think I did. Let's see. Um, somebody was like, I guess on on the post you said something about like, um, I get that he's working hard. So they quoted, they said, I get that they're working hard. And then he said, No, you don't. I'm like, Yes, you do. You totally do know that they're working hard. Um, yeah, I want to start reading all the time. I picked the mean ones. The my two favorites. Yeah. There's one that was okay. Uh it says, Don't judge people you don't know, which totally I get that. Oh, I saw this one. And he said, but then he commented on his own post and said, Um, I also could say Sarah Sturm is talking too much. I don't like her. I thought of so many. I'm like, well, this podcast is called Talking Over You. And the fact that he knows who I am, it wasn't, I wasn't even tagged in that post. So he follows me in some way, shape, or form and knows who the fuck I am. Don't listen, bro. Exactly. Just plug your ears. My favorite one was who's the obese influencer who knows nothing about cycling? I thought they were talking about me. I'm pretty sure they're talking about me, but on second thought, I was like, well, maybe they are talking about. But my thought is like, okay, first of all, influencers make money and I don't make money. Second of all, also kind of a compliment. I I'm not skinny, but I'm not obese. And even if I work, from you don't comment on people's bodies. Thank you so very much. Yeah. And the third point about um who knows nothing about cycling, he would be correct. And I choose not to because imagine having these guys as your community. I guess you can. That is your community in your place. Wow, thanks everyone for really showing up. The real take the funniest one that I saw was like, what do you mean he's not the hot one? It was another guy. It's a guy defending his boy, Remco. And I'm like, okay, all good. If you think he's hot. The takeaway really is that like, God, men are so emotional. They're so emotional. It was all men. It was mostly, it was mostly, but there were a couple of women who were who were on the defense, but most of them. Really? Women were like, But you really read through more than I did. Okay. After the obese comment, I was like, I think I'm done. I think my work here is finished. I've read all that I'd like to see here. I'm here for it. I actually like it did pick me up. I felt this early in my career, and and this is like I'm a bit of a people pleaser, and I I don't generally like when I feel like someone doesn't like me. Not on the internet. That's a whole different thing. That that I'm not referring to, but like in in person, you know, like in high school, it like bugged me. Even if I didn't like the person or ever want to hang out with them, I was like, what do you mean they don't like me? Yeah. I'm incredible. How could they not like me? What do you mean? It just like really would irk me. Um, but I lost my thread. I don't know what I was gonna say. And that's all I have to say about that. Oh, oh, no, I do know. Um, but I learned early, especially like as my career started taking off and blah, blah, blah, that like, and I learned this with art as well. Um, I don't want you don't want to appeal to the masses. Yes. Because then it's you're it then it's just basic and really generic. And I think that for for every you you simply cannot. Like in graphic design, the career of graphic design is sort of like you're trying to pick a favorite color for the entire world. One favorite color. Yeah. And it's just impossible. And actually, it's it's a sign that you're doing something right if if you're irking them. And and truly, like, I think a lot of people, and our episode with Lainey will have come out by now, but like it is exactly what she was up against with her bit that she's doing. Yeah. People who don't get it, and she really puts herself out there because she's talking about Strava, yeah, about taking men's time. Yeah. And the ones who don't get it are like, well, that was this random section. That's not even duh, dude. That's the fucking point. You missed You missed the point. Totally. And all of them missed the fucking point on the Remco thing. Like, we also got a lot of people, truly like a lot of people who are. And one of the like most promising things about this, because like we started this podcast not knowing how it would be perceived. Perceived or received or any of the pieces. And what I think is so great is it when anyone does anything, when they put themselves out there, um, and it is true to themselves and it's their brand and it's whatever they're doing, and other people connect to it. And what I always am like the takeaway is that like we have already like a really lovely community of people who connect with it, you know, who like totally get it. And it doesn't need to be for everyone. It it and it won't be. It isn't. It can't be. Like honestly, it's not for everyone. I'm so fucking glad. I get nervous when a clip goes viral because I'm like, what if these people listen to the podcast and they're like, I fucking hate this. And it's like, well, it's not for that. Oh, that's fine. I mean, I get so many people in our community here that's like they're like older dudes in the cycle the sport of cycling. They're like, oh, I still need to listen to your podcast. I always tell them that I just kind of laugh and I'm like, you can listen, but I was like, honestly, still for you. I was like, it's not for you. I'm just gonna call you out on doing the exact same thing. Yeah, I needed that. Yeah, I was just like, you know, it's you know, it's kind of for the girls, but honestly, like, thank you everyone for hanging with us through the pregnancy stuff. Because like pregnancy really isn't for me. And and the callostrum shit was super not for bee. So, guys, we're all gonna be excited when this baby arrives because then we can stop talking about the pregnancy. And then we'll be on to the baby. But I find babies pretty boring, so and they are. You and Jeff. I was talking to Jeff when his sister had his niece and nephew. He was like, I'll I'll go visit them and check them out when they're like more interesting than a turtle. And then also he sent his sister when she had her first kid, this is like you know, 15 years, 13 years ago. Um, he sent her a box of avocados, which I'm here for that. I was like, oh, that's that's nice. And it's just because he had an avocado tree because he lived in California. I'm here for it. Yeah. It's also like, yeah, it's it's just how it is. Yeah. Anyway, I guess the moral of the story is like, so glad that people are listening. If they find us go viral, if they find this interesting or relatable or fun to listen to or any of the things. And if it's if you don't, um, I just think it was please see yourself out. I knew when when you and Lily were like, can we post the Remco clip? I I knew in the back of my head that it was gonna blow up. That's so funny. I know, I knew exactly because people are very like people really, really care. And I love that they care. And I actually am like kind of stoked that they all like commented because like the thing is, most people agreed with us. Like, I also gave Remco some slack. Like, I'm not just tearing the dude down, he's an impressive athlete, he's just a big whiny baby bitch. And there's slack. That was a lot of slack, you're right. You gave him a lot of grace there. Well, I could really make us go viral and talk about the Lance Armstrong Toddite Pagaccha shit. Cause there's I don't I don't want to go viral, but I I'd love to hear it. But you know what? I like the role models that I have in my life, like are the people that ruffle the fucking feathers, I guess. And they're the ones that I like, I really like comedians. Oh my god, any time that I've like remotely done anything with my career, and I'm like just a tiny fraction of a percentage in the public eye compared to most people. Like I cannot imagine being famous, but like having an opinion as someone who is viewed, and we put this shit out there. Like, I know like I have to be on the internet for my job, and then I decided to do a podcast. Yeah, we didn't have to do this, I just thought it would be fun, and it is, and it will continue to be fun. And then if it's fun because it's fun for here in this room for us. Oh, and I like, and I love like connecting with our listeners. It's a really fun way that I reconnected with a lot of friends, even though that kind of feels one-sided because we're just chatting here and they they feel like they're in the conversation with us, which is we think of them often. But yeah, I think it's just like anytime you are brave enough to like, and I'm gonna put every single athlete into this bucket, like all of them, even if they're not saying anything or doing anything, but like the young girl who like just won today's stage, she's gonna people are gonna now have opinions about her. Uh-huh. And it's an act of bravery to like just do the thing that you want to do in front of other people. And the people that comment nasty shit, not that anyone commented anything nasty about us. I mean, the obese comment is like, really, dude, go fuck yourself. Um I I like that each of us thought it was about I thought he was for sure talking about he could have been. At this point, he really could have been talking about either one of us. It could it really could have gone either way. Someone, I was very visibly. I know we talked about it on the last one. Thanks. Yeah. And I'm like, what? Telling me to lose weight. Well, I'm about to lose at least what seven and a half pounds. If we're lucky. If we're lucky. Anyway. It's just yeah, and that's why like I love it. And the more of the story is we're brave.
unknownWe're brave.
SPEAKER_00Oh, but what I was gonna say is like going back to like the women's women in sport thing, like, and the makeup and the self-expression. Like, I don't like you don't have to agree either. Like you don't have to agree that like you know, you can have your opinion either way. And and the cool thing is is that women's sport has grown to the point that there's lots of examples of each type of person. At least people are watching. A lot of people are watching. At least people are watching. The actually the I was gonna explain to you like how much the Tour de France Femme have has come in the last five years. This is the fifth. What did you just say? How far they've come. Oh, okay. Yeah, that makes more sense. You said how much they've come. I'm pretty sure that's what you said. Well, we'll roll back the tapes. That's a lot of cum. They've come so much. Okay. In terms of quantity, more like length of time and how far they've come. Distance. Um they've overcome. They're over it. They're over it. Well, it used to be one day. Not that long ago. Like, yeah, it was just like a day celebration. Like, look, women ride bikes too. Look, there are women. Look, girl. Yeah. And that was my other takeaway from watching it was like the shots that they did of all the like little girls watching the stage. It's so cool. So it's so cool. I mean, we still have we have a lot more come to be had. And that is so, and I've always been saying that. And Colostrum grosses you out. Ugh, so much. Um does Kyle. No, I mean, there's there, yeah, there's just like it's really, it's really cool to watch. And like, especially with my friend Kristen, who, you know, has in it, was in it, and it's just progressed. Uh really, she was like, it's cool, she was really excited to see like it's cool to see all the team buses and like the amount of support and like the amount of money that's going into women's sport. And the reason that the women's tours in a lot of ways more exciting is we don't know who's gonna win. Like the men's tour, you're it you're watching it in a different way. Like it's still exciting, like the day the stages are exciting, but the overall is is less so. There's less dynamics because there's just one dominant figure and blah blah blah. But I I do think that there's still like there's still a lot to be done, and and we'll get there. It's just like, I don't know, there just needs to be like more um filler in there. Like there's just like a couple of really big teams, and then and this happens on the men's tour as well. Like teams have really different budgets, and that dictates, you know, what type of riders that you can support and your teams, like how much recovery you're gonna get. I mean, I saw an interview with one of the smallest teams, and they don't have they don't have a team bus, they don't have like a shade covering. Like a lot of the like the biggest teams, their riders are warming up with like cooling vests, and like sometimes inside with like air conditioning, and this other team, these girls are like on their trainers outside, and you know, it's just just getting like a hose spritzed on them. Yeah, just getting hosed down before the stage, spraying them with a spray bottle. Yeah, and the team director's like we're doing our the best we can with the budget that we have, and so there's there's just like a lot of discrepancies right now, and it's not just in the women's tour, it's in the men's as well. Yeah, but and that's just biking. And the UCI, the the governing body, does try like some of the rules are meant to keep it fair for all teams, so like not everyone can have aero boobs, you know. Yeah, I can't wait to hear about what they know me too decide about that. What are they stuffing them with? I have no idea because that sounds hot, and that's why I couldn't do the bladder in the front of the like hydration bladder, like even when like last year. It is. Well, you've been training for that, got that short cranks. That is crazy that yeah, I'm still stuck on the that being arrow, and I'm not convinced. Yeah, I don't know. Uh someone who knows physics and aerodynamics, please call in. Yeah. Um, I think we should do a hate comment highlight section of each podcast. I mean, yeah, that would be fun. I can't wait to see what other kind of hate we get. Yeah, there's some good ones. I truly, Hannah, they're not like compared to the shit that I've seen on the internet. Are you kidding me? Oh no, I don't I'm not I'm not worried about it. Like, we I literally could care less what people think about my opinion of Remco.

SPEAKER_00And I do think that's funny. And I still don't even know what he who he is. So and that's I literally could not pick him out of a crowd. People were like, the not hot one. I was like, I literally don't know what he looks like. When I buzzed my head last year, uh-huh, I was really bummed. I honestly stopped wearing the evade the arrow helmet because I felt like I looked like Ramco in it. Because all these guys get like haircut, they all get haircuts before the tour. Like, that's their self-expression. Do they all get the same haircut? Pagatha bleached his hair. He copied me. See. Oh, is that the one that you looked like? There was one, somebody was in the shower, and I was like, Sarah, Sarah? Nope, not Sarah. Uh yeah, it was probably Pagatcha. When you had your hair. Hopefully it wasn't Remco. I don't know what he looks like. I don't know if I've ever seen a picture of him. That's really funny. So I wonder what those guys will have to say about that. I wonder what they'll have to say about us. I wonder what Remco has to say about us. I also like that someone was concerned that about me talking shit on Remco because we're both specialized athletes. And I was like, thanks for knowing we're both specialized athletes. Honestly, I was like, oh. I mean, I I did, I actually did think about it. That was my only hesitation with the clip going up. But I'm not talking shit on specialized. Hell no, we love specialized. They just won two stages in the tour. Great. Love that for them. On a bike that's scary because it's so fast. Crazy fast. Um, okay, so what does the next week look like for you? Sorry, just kidding. That was a death stare that you just gave me. That was a mean comment. What other movies can we go watch? We could go watch Spider-Man. Nope. Yeah, we've watched them all. We've seen all the movies. I mean, I've gotten to the point where I'm watching Below Deck and Dylan installed air conditioning in our house. So that's perfect. That's where I'm at. So anyway, you're just prepping for baby. Just prepping for baby, and I think what I'm gonna do is ride my e-bike up Junction Creek Road because there's washboards. Oh yeah. And then I'm gonna get just shot. Are you worried about shaking the baby out? Is that like a consistent? The most consistent advice that I've gotten to like putting women into labor past 40 weeks is riding on a in a car um or on a moto. Someone said moto, um, which I've never ridden a moto before, so I'm not gonna do that. Yeah, but um a bumpy car ride. Okay or golf cart. Oh so many people have texted me and DM'd me that that is how they put themselves or their wives into labor. Wow. Okay. So I'm gonna do my own version of that. That sounds fun. It sounds terrible because I can hear Dylan is still vacuuming the truck. All right, so and then I'll go home for 20 minutes for you to be like, okay, I'm actually in labor. That's the best case scenario, and then I'll come right back here, and then we'll just toodle around. Oh yeah, do you know things that you want to do while you're in early labor? No, I haven't thought about it because I feel like it's never gonna happen. Okay, but let's think about it now. Watching Politek. Aren't you supposed to like be distracted? I don't know. I've never gone into labor. Okay, well, we'll figure that out then. Maybe we'll go shopping. You could go to the river as long as your water hasn't broken. Yeah. Yeah. I don't know. I just hope it happens. Yeah. It it will. I hope it happens too. I hope it happens sooner rather than later. The number of people that have been checking in with me just being like, Are you an auntie yet? And like, nope Still no. And she's annoyed. I do like all of your fans. Your little neck fan is great. I got a neck fan. And you got so emotional. We went to the movies yesterday and the um preview, there was there were two previews in a row that both seemed like the same movie, um, but they both involved dogs. More involved and dogs. And there was one that was really sad and it did make me tear up. I looked over at Sarah and tears streaming down her face. Absolutely. Dylan just currently going, oh my god, what is wrong with you? Also, what did you tell me when I was like leaned over to tell we I mean we talk through the whole movie? Not talk, talk, but we like we giggle through the whole thing. We we whisper and we giggle through. It doesn't matter what kind of movie it is, but we are the odyssey for people who are curious. We also saw the invite. Yes. Um, and we just giggle through all the things. But what did I leaned over and said something? What'd you say about my breath? Oh, I said your breath smells crazy. And then the other well, it was really funny because last week when we saw another movie, we were laughing about something, and you're like, Did you eat garlic? It's like, no, no, it's just breath that I really can pick up on. That's awful for you. It sucks. It does suck. And pillows. What? Yeah, your sense of smell is out of control. My mother-in-law stayed a month ago, and there's some smell that she left on a pillow, and I think I just have to burn the pillow. That is so funny. I have I bought the those like natural, like there's a lavender and then like a deodorizer spray, like a natural, because I usually can't like I cannot cover up smell with smell. That's always terrible. But this is from like a local lavender farm. So it does seem to be working a little bit. Good. I'm so glad. You also did correctly identify what Apple smells like. A vacuum cleaner bag. She does smell like a vacuum cleaner bag. She's been dipping in the water a lot. Oh, and Norman's old man breath smells the smell thing, but no, I'm just can't wait to hear what kind of comments I get from riding my e-bike up a road. Your your stomach is a weirder shape today than it has been. Yeah. Oh, yeah. It really is. It's um Yeah. Something's here. Something's something is definitely there. It's it's not round, it's sh it's got some sharp edges, I think. Um I know it's crazy. So yeah, your baby's It's so funny. I've been called a basketball. We went on a hike, and this one woman was like, You're still pre what? Did you just remember that you're still pregnant? Yeah, no, I like I have a lot of people that you know having a weird job. I get to hike at the hours of the day with all the other retired, the other retired people. Um, but yeah, they're all really invested, which I actually am here for. Like I really appreciate their advice and wisdom that they've shared with me. But I've heard a lot of how I got put into labor stories. Yeah. It is I and living in a place like Durango is funny. Going on a hike and listening to the old woman um talk about your sex life. That was fine. She was just like having a lot of sex. Yeah. It was like, damn. Hi. She didn't even know that leads to the channel. She immediately went to grab your stomach and then started talking about sex. And I was like, all right. I know she's 72. Soventy one. Yep. Yeah. And there you have it. Yeah. Has anyone called you an alien other than me? This one, Sarah. Like, after what she went to the bathroom. I stayed over last night, and after she went to the bathroom, came out, and was just like in her underwear, and I was like, oh my god, you look like an alien. Truly, like such a bizarre shape. It is crazy. It's also really cool. It is cool. It's just funny. I don't know. It's pretty funny. Yeah. It's just a lot of it's a lot of weird form. It's just crazy that your body can change that much in this amount of time. It feels like I've been pregnant for 10 years. So it seems about right. Yeah. Solid increments. Yeah, so we'll check back in. I'll probably do the podcast next week with everyone. So we'll see you then. I mean, there is a chance. Sorry. I just want to like prepare you for. No, there's not. There is. There is. A very small chance. You would still only you wouldn't be two weeks past. You'd be a week and a half past. They would they we're gonna I'm gonna induce before that. Okay. She's over it. She's done it. No, no, I mean I talked to my doctor. Oh, okay, good. Yeah. Wow, that's crazy. Oh, wait, so this is our last one. There it is. Okay, everyone. So this is our last one for a little bit. Yeah. I can't imagine you. I don't think we're gonna take that much time off. I don't think you are either. Like this. I think you'll be ready to There's gonna be a lot of funny shit happening. Yeah. Emphasis on the shit. Lots of things that we will. I don't promise anything. Well, I want to know what you were about to promise, though. Well, I don't really want to talk that much more about breastfeeding. I think that's a lot that you're gonna have. Like, I think that's gonna be the focus of your life for a little bit. You bouncing it out? You're already she's already bouncing. Okay, it's probably time to go. It's time to go. Okay, we'll see you in a few weeks. I mean, I'll see you in a in a day. Because tomorrow's gonna it's gonna be a good idea. Thank you everyone for checking in. I do really appreciate it. Yeah. I know everyone's like, uh, mostly people check my location and then text me and they're like, no, baby, yet. And I was like, that's not the point. Oh my god, was my were my headphones like on the on my forehead the whole time? Yours are so far back. Should I have had mine? Anyway, okay, it's time to go.
