Ever asked for help and received the watered-down version? We’ve been there—and we’re done with it. Today we lean into a countercultural truth: your success grows when you give others what you wish you had. We unpack how generous guidance builds trust, expands your network, and strengthens your reputation, all while aligning your work with a deeper spiritual reality.

We start with the awkward moment of getting “half-help” and name the hidden costs it creates. From there, we explore the law of sowing and reaping—how planting real value returns in ways that are later, larger, and often unexpected. I share how helping other professionals didn’t shrink my practice; it fueled referrals, partnerships, and credibility.

If you’re ready to stop gatekeeping and start building, this is your invitation to pass it on fully and expect a harvest. Subscribe, share this with a friend who’s on the rise, and text the show to tell me one resource you’ll give away this week. Your open hands might be the very thing that opens your next door.

Why Help Matters

Constance Lavonice

Have you ever asked someone for help? Maybe on the job, a college class, someone who has success in an area you're trying to get into, and you ask them for assistance. Either they don't have the time or give you assistance, but it's incomplete. They leave out important details. You figure it out over time, but it would have helped if the person you asked was more forthcoming. If you're in the process of pursuing a life or career goal, don't be afraid to assist someone else along the way. And if you have accomplished that goal, reach back and help someone accomplish theirs, because someone else's accomplishment or success doesn't diminish yours, it actually complements it. You're listening to Whole Heart Conversations, a podcast especially for women to receive biblical encouragement that fosters resilience through the practical application of God's Word. I'm your host, Constance Lavonice. It may seem counterintuitive to give when you're trying to get, especially in the area of accomplishments and career success. It's counter-cultural, but it's a spiritual reality. The law of sowing and reaping. It's like the farmer planting a seed, knowing that at a later time he's going to reap a harvest, reaping what he sows later than he sows more than he sows. It's the same principle that works in our lives. When we give to others the same way we would have others give to us, it builds trust, relationships, opportunities, connections, and it enhances our own reputation. I've never had a problem assisting a younger therapist or someone starting a new private practice with anything that I've learned on my journey. In fact, I give them everything that I can think of that I've received to help facilitate their success. And their success has never hindered my success. And I've never had a lack of clients or business. And I continue to refer and use the connections that I've built over the years. We don't have to be afraid to give to others. Luke chapter 6, verse 38 says, give and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you. What measure do you use when you're given to others? When they request your assistance? When it's something that parallels your interest, your success, your accomplishments. Do you place limits on it? Or do you give fully and freely? My encouragement for you this week is to give what you have. Don't be afraid to help someone in their journey to success. Allow God to use you in the lives of other people. Pass on what you have fully and expect to reap a harvest. And if this message has been helpful, please subscribe and share, and text the show a message to let me know what's on your heart.
